The Carol Anne - Charming 2bd - 2ba Victorian Home Near Downtown!
Ce duplex de l'époque victorienne est le mélange parfait de victorien et moderne pour tout le confort de la maison. Parfait pour des voyages rapides ou prolongés. L'emplacement est imbattable: à distance de marche de l'université de Drake. À quelques minutes en voiture du centre-ville, des hôpitaux, du quartier d'Ingersoll et de la proximité de la I-235, vous pouvez vous rendre n'importe où dans la ville. Le stationnement hors rue / les serrures électroniques facilitent l'enregistrement. 2 grandes chambres avec lits queen, canapé-lit, 2 salles de bains, cuisine, buanderie, placards et plus, ce qui le rend idéal pour plusieurs invités!

For a 5 night stay, the VRBO lacked Dishwashing soap, no Kleenex, and clothes soap. We did get about 5 Keurig cups. Was disappointed that we needed to buy insurance for breakage that cost an additional $90. As the place was small the cleaning fee should have more than covered the cost to have the place cleaned with no left over dead bugs, dust and dirt. The house behind the property has a rooster that crowed all day. It was like having a neighbor whose dog never quit barking. The owner was worried about scratching his floors but did not mention how uneven they were. The numerous levels were a serious trip hazard. People buy roller bags so they can roll them around. I see where the floors were a little too fragile for this. Just not a comfortable stay.

The Carol Anne was a perfect place to stay. I was a solo traveler, however, this 1st floor home would be very comfortable for up to 4 persons. Very clean & had all the conveniences of home including washer/dryer. If the weather was a bit more pleasant, it would be nice to sit on the porch. If I come back to Des Moines, I will see if The Carol Anne would be available again.

What a cozy home. We had everything we needed. It was clean, had a fully stocked kitchen with a gas range and a full size fridge, washer, and dryer. Everything was laid out in a nice book with full instructions. It was great. Not sure if I missed it at booking but this is a duplex type of home we were down stairs and it was lodging upstairs we only shared a nice wraparound type porch. I highly recommend this property and would not hesitate to book it again.

This house is so fun! Very clean very well supplied with things you’d need. Easy to get to. Easy access with the key pad instead of keeping track of keys! The neighborhood is awesome so much to do within walking distance. Quiet and peaceful. The porch is absolutely the best part of the house. We so enjoyed sitting outside! We will definitely be back!

We loved our stay. The property was clean and provided a restful stay that a hotel just couldn’t touch. We stayed here for the three days of state track and appreciated that it was within walking distance of the stadium. We went back and forth and we’re able to get out of the sun and wind between events. Very restful.

A friend and I stayed at this place for the weekend. It's a cozy place that is beautifully restored and decorated with easy access to the interstate. We appreciated many of the "extras" the host provided such as complimentary coffee, tea, makeup remover wipes, etc. The kitchen is well stocked with spices, a kettle, a toaster, and any other items you need. The one downside is the unit upstairs; we could always hear them walking around.

We were in Des Moines for business. We came across this rental on VRBO. It was a wonderful stay. Quiet neighborhood and we felt safe. The rental was very clean and the decor was fabulous. Thank you for providing a great house rental!

Excellent overall. Clean, decorated nicely, snow removal done well, quiet, enough coffee, able to wash 2 loads of clothes. Wifi worked properly, good communication with the hosts/owners and it is close to downtown. Driveway is a little steep, one vehicle per residence in the driveway, both vehicles need to stay close to their side. And there is additional parking in the street.

We stayed for four nights and had a great stay. Michael and Jocelyn have done a nice job maintaining the character of this Victorian home. It was very clean, great wifi, nice kitchen and convenient to all the places we wanted to visit. It seems as though everything in Des Moines was less than 10 minutes drive. Would love to stay here again on our next visit.

Everything about the visit was outstanding. The check in was clear, easy and flexible (we arrived much later than expected and wasn’t an issue at all- property managers quickly
responsive via email ). The house is quiet, clean, comfortable- A/C super responsive - and kitchen well stocked including coffee in the morning. Could not recommend more.

We had a great stay! The home was in a quiet neighborhood, and easy to find. The location was right off the interstate, and less than 15 minutes from any place we wanted to go to. The home was clean and cozy. I would definitely recommend this place in the future.

Very good, little extras appreciated, quiet neighborhood. Enjoyed it totally! My only recommendation would be a sofa in the living room where a person could stretch out when relaxing. Also a grab bar in the
front bathroom shower. It would accommodate older guests (like me). (Soap going to the floor makes it slippery and nothing to hold onto. Everything else was wonderful and completely satisfactory. We sure didn't want to leave! Thank you again Jocelyn and Michael.

Long weekend
My sister and I went back to Iowa to visit family and this property was perfect for our needs. The house was nicely updated and very clean. It has new windows which greatly reduce outside noise. Easy check in - check out worked great!

Perfect for a quick trip
We came to town for a friends baby shower. The space was great and had enough cooking supplies to host our parents and make a nice meal. The beds were comfy. Location made it easy to get around. Seamless check-in and check-out process too.

Great location and just what we were looking for!
Very clean with everything we needed and then some! We lucked out with warm weather in December and got to enjoy the beautiful porch some too!
Our friends found the front bedroom mattress to be a ‘deep-valley’ mattress; so was the cute Victorian loveseat. I’ve never showered in a converted claw foot tub before. My husband described it as showering in a baggie.
The place was immaculate and so convenient to our activities. Great communication with the host and everything worked as promised.

Gorgeous Victorian manor
As others have noted the house is VERY nice, clean and super comfortable. It's has old world charm outside but very new and updated inside. Showers were GREAT, heating was wonderful. For the price you can't beat it. The area is a little diverse in the general area but the house is well lit and never any issues of safety. Enjoyed the visit and locatuon to Drake Uni.

Wonderful property close to Drake U, restaurants and coffee. We had a lovely stay and enjoyed walking around the neighborhood. Recommend and would stay there again!

Great place to stay!
We were in town visiting our new grandson; absolutely loved the house! It was only 5 minutes away from them, in a nice quiet neighborhood, very well maintained and nicely decorated and had everything we needed. Especially enjoyed the front porch which we used daily. Would definitely stay there whenever we come to visit!

Great location for everything to do in Des Moines
This house exceeded our expectations. So many thoughtful touches showed the pride the owners have for their guests comfort. We were close to everything we wanted to do. I would definitely come back to this house in the future.

Very Charming
The house was very charming. The process to check in/out was extremely easy. Only "complaint" is having to pay a cleaning fee, but asked to strip the beds. Neighborhood was quiet for the most part, some homes were being renovated and you could hear the power tools after dark.

Lovely home
My son, parents, and I were very comfortable in the house. It was perfect for 4 people. We used it as a home base and went all over. The kitchen had everything we needed. We didn’t cook but did need the dishwasher and the Keurig coffee maker. The two bathrooms were great for all of us. The washer and dryer were very nice to have. They beds were comfortable. The front room was a little warmer than the others but a fan was available if I had wanted it. We really liked the seating on the front porch. It was quiet considering its location. We would consider staying there again if we’re in Des Moines.
