The place is in a world in itself, I honestly believe that even if you don't go out anywhere you can enjoy a laid back holiday on the property itself. The staff was so welcoming and the pool was amazing. It was our 8th day in Sri Lanka and being from India we love our tea the way we make it. No offence I liked the Srilankan tea but we were desperately missing our CHAI 😂 The chef made a fantastic India Chai for us and believe me it was Nirvana. The lake right at the backyards of the house gave a mesmerizing view at Sunset. The house has a great collection of books which you can read at your leisure. The barbeque dinner was really great and we had a great spread of fish, prawns, chicken etc. I would really recommend this place without any doubt. Also there was a massage available on the property that you can book (paid) after you reach but it was very relaxing. We also booked the boat safari from the house and it picked us up from the backyard 😁

It is not something we disliked but it was a kind of operational issue, we were 2 couples and had all the four rooms to us which was kind of a blessing for us. One of the ACs in one of the rooms was not working properly but the manager on the property took action swiftly and identified the issue with the compressor which is understandable as electronic items are unpredictable. But as we had the whole house to us we shifted to another room quickly.

It was a very calm, comfortable and peaceful stay. The place was amazing. The team was very supportive and friendly.

Everything. The food was extremely good. We ate mostly Sri Lankan food, 'When in Rome' as they say, it was delicious indeed. The pool was probably the cleanest I have swum in. The design of the Villa, the attention to detail and comfort was fantastic. The staff kept the Villa exceptionally clean and they organised massages and river boat trips for us. They were discreet but attentive. I would highly recommended this Villa to anyone who enjoys, great food, the simple luxuries of life, comfortable surroundings and friendly staff.

We spent two glorious days at the Aluthgama House while we waited to get a return flight home. I could not think of a more tranquil, beautiful and relaxing place to hideway and forget about the stress and worry around us in the world right now. Thankfully we managed to get a return flight home, but we will eternally have fond memories of the professional, humble and delightful staff who always had a smile on their faces, the sumptuous food carefully prepared by the chef, the memorable experience of taking a boat trip to the beach and the luxurious surroundings that made it feel like a taste of paradise.

For us it was just perfect.

We spent a week at the Aluthgama House as Covid was taking hold of Sri Lanka. The house is equipped with top of the range equipment from the wireless / Bluetooth speaker system to the hand picked antiques throughout the house. The location on the river-bank means that we could get a boat to take us to a beach in less than 10 mins, which is only accessible by boat, as well as visiting mangroves where we saw baby crocodiles. The staff are professionally drilled by the manager Roshan and the chef with his years as a chef in a large hotel, produced different traditional Sri Lankan dishes for every meal of our stay. The property is kept spotlessly clean by the staff and even though recently constructed, it maintains the tropical charm of a Sri Lankan villa, with all the modern-day comforts.

Great property. Ideal location, very tranquil and great place to relax and chill. All the property amenities were great, including the pool, lake area. Amazing setting.
