Well, I can’t really review the property since I never saw it. The day before we were to check in, I received an email from the owner that he had double booked part of our stay. Just an email, no phone call, so good thing I had been checking mail. We were already in Mexico so I to scramble for a place for the next 3 days. I was able to find something else for half the price in a better location, so we were lucky. Yes, he refunded my money, but then said that I was the one who cancelled. We should have gotten some sort of compensation for the headaches he caused. I understand the double booking could happen with the property listed on several sites, but to not notice it until the day before?!? I made the reservations 6 months in advance. He had plenty of time to sort this out.

We picked this home because the house looked nice and equally important it appeared to have a heated pool in the back (VRBO photo noted " heated pool" in a caption under the pool and spa photo - fyi spa is empty and doesn't work either even though it is also in the photos). . Our two kids love to swim and thus a swimmable pool was a required amenity when we picked a Cabo home. When we got to the home we checked the pool temperature and realized it was icy cold and not a water temperature that anyone, no matter how hot it was outside would want to swim in. We contacted the owner and he told us that is was a solar issue and would soon be swimmable. It turns out this was not accurate or honest information. A couple days later still no change in the pool temperature and we learned from the pool maintanence company that the real issue was a broken heater that needed a new part (told old heater and difficult to find parts). Apparently this heating problem had been known long before our arrival. In fact the maintanence company asked the owner to inform us in advance so that we wouldn't be disappointed when we found out the pool was not usuable.
Bottom line, the owner knowingly rented us a place that wouldn't have a swimmable pool, wasn't honest about the problem when we arrived and asked about it and ultimately we had to get the truth from the management company. Not once when we called the owner, did he ever try to rectify the situation or offer us anything in exchange for the fact we didnt get to use a key part of the vacation rental ....As. a VRBO host myself, I know how important it is to be honest and upfront. I would never not disclose in advance something as material as a unswimmable pool. At a minimum., I would work to provide the guest something else like a couple days of swimming passes at the hotel down the street. Honesty is key in this business and if things are not right ,you do something to fix it and make sure your guests are made whole. We don't get a lot of family vacations and to not be able to swim in Cabo in the pool we rented was a real loss. Major disappointment and could have been dealt with so much better...If you are going to rent this house ask alot of questions and inquire what is working and what is not working...Ie cannot lock the front door..Only way to sort of secure the house is to lock the front street gate with a paddle lock. Otherwise the house is really not locked or secured.

Nice Mexican Style Home
Well located in a private and secure gated community. Eclectic Mexican decor with period artifacts. Well equipped with all amenities for a comfortable stay. Would have been nice if the spa were working.
