Dead bolt on the front door would not release the lock, so if the door closed behind you when you went to the front porch someone would have to let you back in to the main part of the house.

Perfect little escape…only wish the cottage had some board games; beach gear and cooler seeing we flew into Savanah & opted to not rent a car.

The cottage is small, but comfortable. It was perfect for our family with three kids. It’s close to restaurants and easy walking distance to the beach.

Wow, we loved this place! The cottage was the perfect spot for our family of four! I loved the beachy backdrop, and it was well-stocked with the necessary kitchen and bath items! This is the perfect location if you want to go to tybee with just your family. The cottage is perfectly located for access to the beach and the IGA (grocery store). It is well appointed with everything you need.

We come yearly but this is the first time staying away from south end of the beach. We enjoyed the house and location. We love staying on Tybee before school lets out.

We loved our stay. It was steps from the beach and close to the grocery store and lovely experience.

I dislike being negative but just a few things that I believe can be fixed. Communication with the property people was a bit of a struggle. I had a booking issue and 1 question about our stay. Both I had to follow up with a repeat message and one I resolved on my own. 1 question I sent them another message after 19 days passed. Second, which may not seem like a big deal to some but the windows had no screens. Some didn't open. But you have to be careful about leaving a window open because there are big bugs. The weather was not hot and we really love the fresh air. Yes, the cottage is old and maybe they don't make them the same size, but Home Depot sells adjustable screens that you can pop in. One last thing is that the "cut through", to the beach, is through the neighbors yard. I gave this place 5 stars because I would definitely stay here again. I would pick up a few screens from home depot on my way. But the cottage was lovely. It was clean, the towels were soft and the bed was comfortable. The street was quiet and sitting on the porch was nice listening to the wind through the trees and the sound of the sea. I agree with other people that the location is nice. 10th street is a quiet section of the beach but you can walk down to the Pier in no time. My favorite was watching the sunrise on the beach with my coffee. The pictures are accurate, it is a very cozy place.

We had a great stay at Shirley Road. Easy access to the beach and located near the grocery store. This is a nice size place for a couple with a kid or two but if you have a larger family you would need more room.

Perfect for our family of 5! This house was cute, clean, on a quiet street and just a short walk to the beach! This was our first time to Tybee Island, and it was exactly what we were looking for and met all our expectations. One thing we personally really liked was it wasn't near the pier, which we preferred, as the beach wasn't as crowded. But it was still close enough where we could take a nice 15-20 minute stroll down the beach if we wanted to head over there. Again, loved the house and loved Tybee Island!

Family of 5 (7 yr, 4 yr and almost 2yr) The property was very clean when we arrived. Such a cute beach cottage. Perfect location to the beach, a less than 5 minute walk. Quiet neighborhood and close to a little grocery store. When we come back to Tybee we will be looking forward to staying at this perfect little cottage.

The cottage had everything we needed and was clean and well-maintained. Very quiet street and peaceful front porch. Great backyard too with newer-looking landscaping, patio, outdoor shower, and path to beach (via neighbor to 10th street). The 10th street section of the beach was not very crowded and nearly empty at times in the middle of the week. We are already talking about when we can make a return visit!

Perfect for our family of five. The three kids (6,11,15) loved it. The proximity and ease to get to the beach were a big plus. Fully stocked with dishes and cookware. We utilized the gas grill, oven, microwave, fridge and coffee maker. The beach chairs and umbrella came in handy as well! Quiet road and neighborhood. Located in a prime spot for walking just about anywhere we needed to get! We will definitely be staying here next time we visit.

Our family of 6 stayed here for a week at Tybee and found the property immaculate at check in and the process of checking in and leaving was very easy. The street is private which meant our stay was very quiet and relaxed. There is no beach access from the road, but you can access 10th street boardwalk through the back of the property. We stayed with our four young kids and they loved the bunk beds. The outdoor shower was amazing! My only complaint is that the kitchen could use some new pots and pans - all but two had peeling non-stick coating making them unsafe to use. We could have also used kitchen scissors and a whisk. We ate all of our meals at the house and it was just those few items that would have made meal prep a bit easier. Otherwise everything about the cottage (location, charm, cleanliness, and ease of booking) was perfect! Thank you for a great vacation!

When I landed on Tybee Cottages website, I found it easy to navigate and was able to locate 2 that were available. I called and Jim at Tybee Cottages and he talked with me at length so we could make the right decision for us. We decided on Shirley Road Cottage and were not disappointed. The road is very quiet, the cottage is easy to access from the main road and the beach access is probably most a 2 minute walk. We loved the uncluttered and updated cozy decor. This cottage was very very clean, which is important to us right now. It had everything we needed and the location was convenient to the grocery and to restaurants (we walked to both)There is a school nearby although it was not in session so it was even peaceful during the day-although I would enjoy hearing the children if they were having school. Thank you for a perfect accommodation and we will be back. Highly recommend.

Just the right amount of space and I loved all the doors so the place could be opened up in the warm air. The screened front porch was very nice. The (newly landscaped) backyard was absolutely wonderful. Such a perfect place to sit and relax. As one of us is a landscape architect and 3 of the bushes seemed to be dying we watered all the new plantings as we had no rain the entire 7 days we were here. Washer and dryer are dated but work well. We ate out most of the stay so rarely used the kitchen to cook but essentials were all there. The cottage is on a very quiet road and perfectly centered to get to any place on the island. Beach access is close and takes one out to the beach in the middle of the island which is less crowded. We did have a plumbing issue which Jim took care of within 1 day. I do suggest that that a small bedside table be placed in the main bedroom and bunk room as there is no place to place anything except on the floor (we used the stools). All in all I highly recommend this cottage. We had a wonderful time! Thank you Jim and Debbie.

Easy

We loved the simplicity, cleanliness and location. The beach we not overcrowded as it was down by the pier and we had access to the restaurants on the north side and south side of the island!

Nicely decorated! Bed was comfy! Bathroom however was on small side! Location to beach was fast and easy! About a 30 min ride to Savannah. Town was cute, nice and beachy! The VRBO gave us wrong address so had a difficult time finding place!
