The power outage made it very difficult to check in and gain access to the facility.

This is a fantastic hostel/hotel. We arrived very very late on the bus from Poland and the hostel was still open and received us. The room was fine. We had a room to ourselves. Hot showers. Perfect and really great value for money. This place exceeded my expectations! I'd stay there again for the night. Perfect location, right by the bus and a metro station.

Breakfast would be a bonus, but not necessary!

it's pretty easy to find. You don't need to call the hostel to check-in. There are fast food possibilities and a good tasting hypermarket around. It's very near one metro and train station. You could go easily to the airport via train from here. The interior looks generally modern.

The additional charges are for foreigners higher than stated on booking.com. So you need to pay more. I stayed in around 20 hostels in Ukraine and Kyiv. No other hostel is doing it this way. If the taxes for accommodating foreigners are higher than for Ukrainians, the hostel should do it with a mixed calculation. So every guest pays the same final price. Curtains for the bunk beds would be nice. Some more colors, especially in the dorm room would look better. There is not so much space in the shower cabin. It would help if the non-English-speaking staff would use the Google Translate on the smartphone to translate from Ukrainian to English. Without the overcharging I would have given 9 out of 10.
