The view from the lodge is uncomparable. A mix with jungle and ocean coast views.

We absolutely loved Pacific Edge. The individual bungalows have very comfortable beds and good ceiling fans. The thing that makes Pacific Edge so special is the view from the deck, up the Pacific coast over unbroken forest past Dominical and on to Manuel Antonio Nat Park. (and the pool). Sid and Michaelynn are wonderful hosts, and you should count yourself very lucky if you are able to stay here.

Sid and Michaelann are amazing hosts with an amazing property. They went out of their way to make our stay perfect - including giving us a complimentary room upgrade, helping us book birthday massages and other excursions, and making breakfast in the morning. The place is BEYOND beautiful and the view is unbeatable And your only 10 minutes from town, even though you feel way up in the trees.
We’re hot sleepers so struggled a bit without AC but that’s kind of everywhere in CR so can’t really complain.

This place is absolutely magical. Stunning views, quaint cabanas, energetic and engaging hosts. What’s not to love? We will be back!

Right in the middle of nature with an unbelievable view! Animals all around, it’s just magic! The lodge is run by a family, who put so much love and work into the place! Everything worked, everything was clean and comfortable! All around amazing place!
Just as a need to know: a 4x4 car if you’re driving yourself is highly recommended. But I’m sure there are also possibilities for non 4wheel drivers.

I can’t speak highly enough about this experience. If you want an intimate, friendly, warm experience with the Pacific Ocean as the backdrop, this is the place to be. I came for my birthday and they went ALL out to make my day feel special, including celebrating with me with a beautifully prepared dinner and dessert. They were a joy to hang with the entire trip and I miss them dearly already!
Nothing! The property is perfect.

An authentic an unbelievable view of the Pacific Ocean. The grounds were absolutely beautiful and the cabin we stayed in was lovely. It had everything we needed. The deck, pool and sunset towers were stunning. We loved hearing the monkeys at night, watching the birds, seeing the sunset, etc. The hosts were fantastic - very accommodating, friendly and helpful in every way. Can’t say enough great things about it—we can’t wait to go back!
There was nothing we didn’t like about the property. Zero complaints!
5.0 / 10.0
- The view was lovely
- Could see toucans and howler monkeys in the trees from the property
- Pool was small but nice
- Because hosts were on sick leave during our 4 day stay, we didn't get a chance to try cocktails or breakfast
- The cabins were ancient, unclean (lots of dust in the corners, cobwebs, stained toilet - see pictures) and in need of repair
- There was no aircon, and even though the description said there is usually a breeze, there was no breeze at all during our stay (beginning of April). It was scorching hot. The fan on the ceiling was squeaky and old, and it was pretty hard to sleep because of the squeaky noise
- There were lots of gaps in the walls which meant critters could come in easily (we saw a cockroach, and a scorpion had climbed into our suitcase)
- The road to the property is on a very steep gravel road which is a bit tricky to drive on. There are no restaurants or beaches within walking distance, which means you constantly have to drive up and down that road

View from this place is incredible. You dont want to leave the deck.
A bit information more on food and drink service, we weren't really sure what was included and had to ask for how to get drinks, ice etc. Would have been nice to provide atlesat small breakfast as location is in the hills away from area restaraunts. Sid was going through his surgery recovery so its all good.

Breakfast with Sid as our personal chef was the highlight of our trip. The food was excellent, Sid is especially personable and a great conversationalist. We enjoyed our stay here if just for the great company in such a beautiful setting.

The second we entered the Pacific Edge property we felt like we'd walked into paradise. We were greeted with the most spectacular view, really cool wooden architecture, and the friendliest, most personable hosts I've ever had. The place combines being eco-friendly with incredible comfort, which I imagine is hard to do. I loved the cabinas and hearing the birds outside, the fan rather than air conditioning, the sights of so many amazing animals (some of our best birding in CR was from the deck!), and the multiple view platforms. Breakfast every day was delicious. Sid and Michaelynn do so much more than running a hotel—they made us feel so welcome, answered all our questions, joked around, and helped in a million different ways. It made us feel like old friends (though if you're not into that I'm sure they'd give you your space too). I am so impressed by the fantastic little paradise they run and can't wait to go back!

I literally gasped once we got out of the car and saw the view of the jungle leading down to the ocean and watched the folks who came to stay after we arrived to the same. Waking up to howler monkeys and bird calls every morning was so special. Having a kitchen to cook in was great. The beds were comfy. The shower was hot. The hammock on each lanai was inviting and wonderful place to while away the hours but could also be moved aside to do yoga on a borrowed mat.
The hospitality of the new owners is phenomenal! They were very welcoming, accessible but not intrusive, knowledgeable about the area and enthusiastic about helping guests plan outings. Sid's breakfasts are not to be missed and neither are his cocktails, if you are so inclined. I recommend the jungle juice while watching a spectacular sunset from the deck, but I heard a lot of raves about the margaritas as well. He joked that he was also the valet because he frequently rearranged cars for folks in the tight parking spots when they needed to get out or get in. Michaelynn was amazing, warm, helpful and funny. My husband was laid up with debilitating sciatica most of our stay and she made calls to get someone to come up and give him a massage as well as finding out what meds from the farmacia would help him. I had big plans for adventures out, but honestly spent most of our four days there on the property and never felt I was missing out because it was so magical there. I felt like we all became family after a short time. We are alreay look forward to our next visit!
PS. If you are looking for a luxury resort experience, keep looking because this is not that.
The entrance to the road is easy to miss coming from the north but obvious once you see it. While it is steep and bumpy we did it with a 2W drive in the rain

Pacific edge is an amazing place with the most incredible view that we experienced on our trip to Costa Rica. It is an amazing place to watch the birds from the tree tops. The cabin was super comfortable, again with a great view! Mica and Sid do a great job of hosting and were always on hand to recommend things to do or places to eat! Sid’s breakfast menu is also great.
Just wished we had the time to stay longer :)
