I stayed in one of the storefront suites and it was pretty noisy.

The Palace is a great place to stay once if you want to see what hotel stays in the Old West were like 100 years ago. The Palace is a walking museum. The front desk staff is exceptionally friendly. Compared to the "take it or leave it" high price strategies of the chain hotels located on US180 my Palace Hotel room was a bargain.

My positive comments above about the Palace are a hint as to its negatives. As a historic inn located in the downtown area away from traffic flows, the number of paying customers is constrained as is management's financial ability to upgrade the hotel. I suspect that Grant County building ordinances also limit the amount of enhancement the Palace can do without bringing the building up to code--a very expensive undertaking. The Palace's management is doing the best it can with the difficult architectural hand it was dealt. Those who plan to stay at the Palace should know that it has no elevator or sprinklers. And the street noise from Little Toad Creek Brewery adjacent to some east-facing rooms can be a problem for those who go to bed early. I'm glad that I stayed at the Palace this one time for its historic significance to Silver City, but I'll probably go back to the hotel on US180 on my next visit.

Really cool historic building in downtown Silver City. Lovely decor made me feel like I had stepped back in time, and it was beautifully kept up. Every one was very friendly, helpful and shared a lot of information about Silver City and the Palace Hotel regarding past and present. A very nice experience!

The hotel is bang in the middle of town with most things within walking distance. The hotel has character, friendly, talkative staff and is clean. The rooms are adequate for the price.

The loud noise of the cleaning of the streets, woke us up very early. Breakfast is very basic, so we had breakfast on the way to our next destination.

The breakfast was just above continental with no hot items.

All the options were cold.

Location was close of restaurants, shops and farmers market. Staff was very helpful sharing points of interest that we might enjoy.

Near by night life was a little noise but settled down by 11ish!

This is a historic hotel. The floors are creaky and the stairs are steep. I would stay here again and again

I really liked the old decor of the hotel, room was nice and bed comfortable. Excellent location! Robert was very kind and helpful. Breakfast was better than I expected. Would definitely stay again!
