Location and friendly staff .
Food was fantastic and live music in bar too.

Room was spotless. Lovely fresh bathroom. Its is an older building and the hallways are a bit of a warren, (and no lifts if that is an issue for you) but lots of areas ( though not everywhere) seemed to have been freshly painted. Loved the smell of fresh flowers in reception - seemed perfect for the ambience of the house. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Great location in centre of town. Near castle and has lots of little coffee shops etc nearby.
Breakfast was adequate but not very exciting. E.g. fruit salad was mostly crunchy apple and a few bits of grapefruit. No berries or bananas in sight ( except for on the porridge). Scrambled egg on toast was a bit dry.
4.1
Breakfast was generous portions.
The interior is outdated.
4.1
The carpets look like they haven’t been cleaned ever, the bathroom could have used a good scrubbing. pretty sure the bedding hadn’t been cleaned either
4.1
Cheerful helpful staff who went above and beyond to help you- from the receptionist to the waiting staff, bar staff- every worker in this hotel is intent on ensuring that you, the visitor, has a great stay. Accommodation was comfortable, food was exceptionally good- dinner was well priced and superb. Morning breakfast was wonderful - such a choice - everything you could ask for and then some.
not a dislike per se- but a lift would be helpful.

Good traditional hotel with wonderful staff. Great atmosphere in the bar and good breakfast. Can't say enough about how pleasant the staff are.
It's showing its age a bit and some of the rooms are a long walk from reception.

Food delicious 😋
Bit dark and very old fashion in my room.
4.1
The hotel is in a excellent location and the staff were particularly friendly. The Breakfast was very nice and service was excellent. The room we stayed in was very good
The shower did not work and the general upkeep of the hotel could be improved without too much effort

Nice location. Good value for money. Clean & comfortable. Exceptionally friendly & helpful staff.
While the food was good, the menu was a bit limited.
4.1
The staff were superb, nothing was a problem. Pet friendly, excellent parking. breakfast was delicious. Nice atmosphere and facilities.
Just an observation, not a dislike. Room was too warm, difficult to get temperature right.
4.1
The room was great and spacey and clean. It contained all the needs for us. The
Staff were pleasant and we really enjoyed the breakfast.
The food served down stirs not so good. I got a veggy curry and it just looked like a soup. Not much veg at all.

Breakfast was standard hotel fare. Our friends (non residents) popped in and had a mini breakfast with us which was easily accommodated by the nice staff
4.1
location, comfy bed, fast wifi, nice food at the pub downstairs
a bit oldish, no lift, “free” public parking available on the square in front of the hotel

A lovely unique property which has grown to be a fabulous hotel.
Maybe the walk to the bedroom a bit long but the bedroom was very comfy and worth the walk.

It was dog friendly & the staff were lovely.
Breakfast was good.
The spa was closed so that was disappointing!
Garden & river walk were nice. Nice break. The people in
people in the town are super friendly!

Good size room. Good location in centre of town.
Bed linen and pillows not cotton and bad quality. Minimal bathroom products. Shower gel/shampoo in one attached to wall felt cheap and not nice product. When arriving heard booking on phone confirmed at a much lower rate than we paid and including breakfast. When asking about breakfast we were told it was not included and no offer to provide even if we paid more or advice on where to get breakfast in the town. Over priced for what felt cheap.
4.1
Room, food in bar, breakfast were very good. The staff were exceptional.
I did think the price was a bit high, €185 for bed and breakfast is a bit higj.
4.1
The room was large and the bed very comfortable. The hotel is right on the square so it's the perfect location. Staff are very friendly and helpful and my dog was made welcome
The room and bathroom were a bit dated. The hotel has live music on Sundays which is very loud and takes over the beer garden, which is the only place to eat if you have a dog.
4.1
Entertainment the Bar excellent
No Lift.
