Cosy little cottage , with a beautiful view, flowers were a lovely touch

Peaceful and well maintained estate with a lovely swimming pool and tennis court, which our 7 year old loved (although Andy Murray won’t lose any sleep over his tennis skills!)
Hosts were available if needed and very friendly. Easy access to York, Knaresborough and Harrogate via the train from Poppleton.

Very warm & cosy with lovely countryside views!
a little far out of you don’t have a car (we planned to have one but alas it failed it’s MOT last minute) … if you don’t have car we’d recommend booking a taxi ahead of time as difficult to get an Uber.

We were met by Penny, our friendly, helpful host. The cottage is like a smaller version of a home from home which is well equipped. It was like living in a small historical village. Nice heated outdoor swimming pool. Comfortable beds with white linen, good blackout blinds, good quality, large, thick towels. Dog friendly and we loved seeing the beautiful horses in the fields. Nice local walks. Good amount of tourist information provided and a very nice welcome basket with some local products.

It was the personal touches that made it so welcoming. The welcome box upon arrival, tea, coffee, sugar. Oil as I forgot to purchase this when I went the shop. Cleaning/cooking equipment etc.
Red House Estate is absolutely beautiful. Waking up to the fresh air and the horses walking past was breath taking. We’re looking forward to our next visit.

Fabulous location for York Harrogate and Knaresborough. A lovely family run business welcome basket was delicious, lots of different visitors. Really enjoyed ourselves thankyou.

Signal cottage was in a fantastic peaceful location down a mile of private road.
The hosts were on hand & couldn’t have been more accommodating.

Signal cottage was spotless, comfortable and very well stocked. The estate is lovely and there was hardly anyone in the pool or on the tennis court, both of which our children loved. The family who own the estate were extremely helpful. There was a lot to do in the local area.
