I stayed here for one night with my husband. This is a heritage hotel with so much to offer. Beach is just 3-5 min away and all good restaurants nearby. What I loved the most is the peaceful and green stay. Loved the mini garden and the simple yet beautiful ambiance. It's not for those who prefer a lavish stay. It gives a very soothing experience. The food is too good (we had lunch here and loved it). I would recommend to everyone over here to have this experience.

Nothing to dislike but would be better if they could provide shampoo and toothpaste too.

The hotel itself is charming, with an old-fashioned bohemian hostel-like vibe that is very very endearing. The old wooden furniture, the high ceilings with wooden beams, the well maintained gardens and the indoor potted plants all add up to a very unique old-world Raj-era haveli sort of charm. It is very close to the railway station (~1.2 km), very very close to the beach (probably 50-60 meters) and easy to find. Its also safe, reasonably quiet and the linen and washrooms were quite clean. The price is very reasonable. It has a TV room and a well-stocked DVD library that you could presumably borrow DVDs from to watch in the TV room. The walls have quaint old maps and artifacts on display. I felt like I was in another era.

I did have some major complaints though, which ruined the charm of what would have otherwise been the equivalent of finding a pearl in an oyster. First, the single rooms and a few of the double rooms DO NOT HAVE ATTACHED WASHROOMS. Really, Z-hotel??? This information is not provided to the guests at the time of reservations on Booking.com. Its quite a rude shock to realize that you will be sharing bathrooms and toilets with other guests. In addition, the above rooms do not have air-conditioning. That wasn't a deal breaker in early October (the sea makes it quite cool at night), but to claim on the website that "All rooms have ACs" and then find that at least the two rooms you saw didn't seems, well, a bit dishonest. Please fix this, because this lovely old building deserves people who will love it when they see it...
