Our hosts were exceptionally nice and extremely helpful; they were available on WhatsApp for anything we needed. They even arranged to meet us beforehand at the parking lot to transport our luggage since cars are generally forbidden in the city center. They provided us with great tips and discount cards for restaurants in the area. The apartment was clean and very cozy; it had everything we needed, including plenty of storage space for our clothes and souvenirs. The kitchen is fully equipped, the couch is comfortable. The TV is quite small but we weren't in Assisi to watch it, so this didn't bother us at all. Very comfortable bed. Really liked how you could adjust the light in the apartment with the window shutters. What really stands out about this apartment is its perfect location. You will be able to enjoy a view to the Basilica of Saint Francis straight from your window (you will have to lean out a bit), and listen to its magnificent bells from the comfort of your home away from home. There is a mini-market directly below where you can get drinks and other snacks, as well as restaurants, souvenir shops and ice cream nearby. Just a few meters away is a restaurant where you can do either sit-down or take-out (they have delicious ice cream!). This was one of the restaurants that our hosts gave us a discount card for. There is also a fantastic sandwich/panini shop just 5 minutes from the apartment past the San Giocomo gate that is a must to visit! Plenty of typical pilgrim destinations are easily within walking distance – the Basilica of Saint Claire is about 10-15 minutes away on foot, the church of Maria Maggiore (which holds the tomb of Blessed Carlo Acutis) also right around 10 minutes on foot, and San Damiano is about a 20-25 minute walk.
