Outstanding retreat at the end of the road…but the beginning of an excellent adventure. Gabe was a terrific host, dropped in after check in to say hello. We saw him first thing the next morning too, as the electric went down, power line break…he wanted to be sure we had aux heat, if needed. House is located just one mile from Mt Chase Lodge/Shin Pond Village, easy access by snowmobile, down the road and shortcut trail. Gorgeous place, modern as advertised, nice view of the lake, spacious parking. Fully provisioned kitchen, bedrooms, bathroom, everything you’ll need. Large LED TV in the family room, Internet access was stable, plenty of heat/light, all the comforts of home. Full bath downstairs had an awesome shower with great water pressure, feels great after a long day on the sleds. Plenty of towels, bath/hand/face, beds were made and ready as advertised. Full size washer/dryer if needed. First floor bedroom is king bed, upstairs loft has two rooms, one queen and two doubles. Plenty of space. There is a half bath upstairs too, very convenient for the second floor guests. The open floor plan included a nice breakfast bar with two comfy bar stools, supplementing the large table with six chairs. Plenty of space for four singles, or even three couples…we were only three, as our fourth had an appendectomy that kept him from making the trip. Bummer. All in all, the title says it all, stay here, that is all. Gabe is really nice guy, grew up locally and makes his living in the area. I only wish we could have shared a growler or two with him, from Katadhin Brewing in Patten, 10 miles down the road. Next time Gabe…thank you!

Spectacular in every way

This property has loads of amenities for lake use and location is so convenient for the North Maine Woods. The dock, fire pit and deck are perfect for friends, and family gatherings. The home itself had everything we needed, with comfortable beds great shower and everything you need for a relaxing getaway. Gabe was great and very helpful. All six adults enjoyed their stay and we will be back.

This little spot is heaven on earth. Quiet and peaceful. Everything was awesome. Gabriel was available if I had an issue. If it were not for the very long commute of getting there I would love to book more get away time for myself. Refreshes the soul. Thank you Gabriel.

A great property close to the northern entrance to Baxter State Park. We had a really nice visit.

It was a great spot. Weather was against us but we managed to make the best of it. The house made that possible. A very clean and quiet spot.

We enjoyed a wonderful week exploring the Katahdin Woods & Waters National Monument area. We also had an exciting day white water rafting with Maine River Expeditions. The property was really comfortable, it had everything we needed including the dock and kayaks. We enjoyed being on the water on Shin Pond. The layout was perfect for our family of six. Gabriel was a terrific host.

The pictures didn’t do this cabin justice! The setting was picturesque! The outdoor patio was like something out of a magazine! The inside had all the basics and more. Just a very relaxing cabin with plenty of things to do within an hour drive.

We had such an amazing time. Great views, peace and quiet, beautiful space. It was more then we could of asked.

It was a great trip. The cabin is everything advertised and more. It is such a quiet and beautiful location. This was our second year in a row staying here and we would book it again.

Absolutely beautiful lake, and beautiful home. Modern appliances but the feel of a mountain lake cabin. We loved it!!

My family of four (all adults) and several friends off and on, stayed so comfortably in this house. Plenty of room to relax. Although I brought a lot of my cooking supplies the place had all the essentials and most of what I brought stay in the box. The weather was cool and a bit rainy but that only added to the relaxing 10 days we had. The owner was more than obliging and communicated with answers to my questions really promptly. The deck was huge and the firepit got a lot of use. Just a wonderful set up. The pond was beautiful and the ducks and loons just topped off the whole trip.

We stayed at Gabriel's cabin for the weekend, with the goal of hiking Mount Katahdin. It was about a 2-hour drive to the trailhead, but the amenities of the cabin made it well worth our additional drive. The interior is clean, cozy, and well-stocked. The backyard has a lovely deck and a dock that is excellent for kayaking and canoeing.

Gabriel's property was just awesome. We have dome many short-term rentals over the years and this may have been the best stocked/equipped rental we have ever stayed in. The house is all updated, very nice and comfortable. The property is beautiful, on a quiet dirt road on a quiet pond. (We heard loons most nights). It was located near many hiking trails, we hiked most days, we used the canoe and kayaks that are there and rented ATVs for the trails on one day. And this place was the perfect place to stay for everything. We did all our cooking here and had everything we needed to prep and cook meals. We will definitely rent this place again when we head up to the area, probably later in the summer so that we can swim and enjoy the dock. Just cannot say enough about the place.. it was perfect.

Our family and myself had a great time at the this property. We Enjoyed the coziness and the cleanliness of the house. We Snowmobiled from the property and connected to the trail system easily. We will be back soon. The owner of this property was great with communication and made thing very easy.

This was a great property and we will rent again. Could Not have been more pleased the total process.

Great relaxing care-free experience. Wilderness right outside of your steps. Everything you need is included: dishes, utensils, Keurig coffee maker with complimentary coffee and tea packets, first aid kit, bathroom stuff, etc. Really enjoyed our New Year stay. Thank you!

Great long weekend! Very clean and updated. House is gorgeous, pictures don’t do it justice and the owner was very warm and welcoming.

The house and property are beautiful. It was easy to get to and we had everything we needed. The property/cabin are as listed. There is a Keurig on site. We had a peaceful visit.

A beautiful rental property so close to the best hiking that Maine has to offer. Super comfortable beds after a long day outdoors, and a fire pit near the gorgeous pond to roast marshmallows. You'll be greeted by quiet - just the calls of loons and the gentle lapping of pond water. A superb place to stay!

We had a wonderful week in Mt. Chase. The cabin is beyond beautiful and fully stocked for all your needs. Upper Shin Pond was so quiet and peaceful, we pretty much had it to ourselves the entire week. We brought our own paddle boards and kayak but there were plenty to use at the waterfront! Highly recommend a stay at this property!

For the outdoors persons that we are met all expectations. From the hiking at Baxter as well as Sebeois River to the Owls Head at Scraggly Lake. Very enjoyable. House was in outstanding condition, spent time on the deck and down by the dock. The inlcude paddle board and canoe were well appreciated. Patten, nearby has Ellis Family Market (Hannafords) and remarkably good service and selection. Hope to stay there again next year.

The cabin was beautiful. The pictures we saw prior to renting were great but it did not do it justice. The view was amazing. The property was amazing. Gabriel was great. He was prompt to answer any question. He even greeted us upon arrival and offered our children pool noodles from his place next door. This made their day and they did not disappoint two young children.

In a word - perfect! Canoeing on the placid Shin Pond was a highlight. The quiet offered recovery from stress. Wine glasses would be nice, but no real complaint when there's a corkscrew in the drawer!
