I was on a quick visit Torquay for a work engagement. This was a last minute plan and the Balmoral was a short walk from our location. I arrived slightly early and the excellent Alex checked me in and with a free upgrade, without any issue whatsoever. Next morning breakfast very efficient and tasty (most professional lady in charge of the breakfast room). This is a lovely cosy hotel and I highly recommend it.

Service was excellent. Staff very friendly and efficient. Food was superb.

Very hilly location - people with limited mobility (like Me) may have some access problems. This could have been made clearer

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. Our room was light and airy and the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and there was a wide choice. We went for the full English which was delicious. Friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. Excellent location - surrounded by trees and very peaceful yet within easy walking distance of the town (a bit of a climb back up the hill). There is a bus stop right outside the hotel which is handy for getting to and from the town if you don't fancy the walk.

I was upgraded to small double rather than single. Hotel was lovely, friendly staff, comfy bed, walking distance to beach front- wonderful

Unfortunately we were woken by people outside shouting the first night. And the 2nd night we had someone in the next room snoring so loud we were kept awake. Not the hotels fault though. But we did notice alot of cobwebs on the lights in our room which need some dusting.

Excellent food, staff were second to none.

The taps were so close to the side of the sink, in room 2, it was very difficult to wash my hands. Toilet didn't flush well.

The breakfast was very good, we did not have dinner

The location was too far out of central Torquay, our bedroom was very small and the bed was set in an alcove, so that we had to 'shuffle' up the side of it to get in and out. Mattress was also uncomfortable

The food was excellent and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Lovely quiet area but walking distance to a local beach. Good bus links to bigger resorts.Beautiful gardens with sun loungers and tables and chairs.

The room was very small and the bathroom tiny. Nothing to do in the evening after dinner apart from drinking in the bar.

The cleanliness of the hotel was excellent the staff were helpful and kind. The breakfast had plenty of choices, the evening meals were nicely cooked with a nice choice of vegetables. The bathroom had a lovely power shower. We had a lovely time and will come back another time.

There was nothing that I did not like or enjoy.
