Very charming little house just in front of the castle. Probably the best accommodation to stay while in Obidos!

the stairs up to the bedroom and the stairs down to the bathroom, however the bathroom downstairs is bright, clean, modern and totally great. you don't get a better location. open up the enormous kitchen doors to the castle walls

The location was amazing, just outside the castle/fortress walls so we could easily walk in to the little city.

It was fairly difficult to get the front door open and required a lot of strength. The property is three levels. The bedroom is up some narrow stairs. The bathroom was on the bottom level, so you had to descend the narrow stairs, and then walk down a narrow spiral staircase to get down to the bathroom, which was a bit difficult in the middle of the night. The property is charming, but if you have mobility issues, I don't think this is the property for you.

I fell in love with it and extended my stay by one night.

To live in a medieval village for a night was a real privilege and I felt totally transported to a different time and place, and amazingly, it came with modern luxuries like the well equipped kitchen and bathroom, an outdoor courtyard and 5G Internet, to name a few. the interiors paid tribute to a time of old while maintaining modern sensibilities. The woodwork and finishes lent to the overall ambience and experience for my family.

nothing at all, but if you arrive in the dark, bear in mind there is a 5 minute trek up some stairs and a dirt road leading to the inside of the castle walls and a courtyard. My 3 year old handled the torch while my husband and I carried bags, so nothing too crazy.

just an observation - the bed sheets didn't seem to have been changed they smelled dirty but the house had another clean bedding set

Perfect location. Beautiful and clean. Lovely decor. Comfortable bed and bedding.

Ventilation in the bathroom is problematic. Not for people with mibility issues or small children due to the stairs.

Location and uniqueness.

The smell. But it seems to be an issue in the downstairs of every building in town.

A touch of modern Facilities in an Authentic village house

Location: * The property is located in the edge of the village at the highest point. * In the apartment- 3 floors with steep stairs. * The location pin leads you to a parking lot that isn’t not accessible (blocked road). Bottom line : Not for families with kids and luggage to be carried for 7 min up a steep village. Host: * None of the above is not mentioned in the preview post of the property - lack of transparency! * Approached the host regarding this issue, his answer and I quote “ if you had planned your vacation right you should have known that Ovidos is a steep village……” Nothing more to add….

The setting of the unit.

Unique Medieval house right inside the old Medieval city walls makes this place very special. Can walk up onto the town walls from just outside and the Main Street is 1 minute away. A cafe operates immediately next door which is convenient. Spacious apartment with loft bedroom, living room, separate kitchen, charming old style windows. Large shower in (lower level) bathroom with plenty of hot water.

The bathroom is in the basement and smells musty from poor air flow and no openable window. The place needs electric fans on each of the 3 levels. We found it hot even with all windows open as there is no air conditioning. Pedestrians walk right outside the living room windows and some stop to look inside. The cobble stone street outside the apartment is rough so you need proper footwear. No place to hang clothes.

Everything is good. The location is close to the castle.

The problem is during the Mercado Medieval de Óbidos, there is loud music and people screaming until the end of the festival show at every night. The first night was finished at 1:30am and in the weekdays it was finished at 3:30am....

the location is great!

it’s located right next to the entrance of the medieval festival,( to enter the place outside castle) the event run very late until 3am.. the music is way too loud and be prepared you won’t get to sleep until then… I’m with my little boy, he was woken up several times. other then that, our stay is good.

Very convenient with a nice view from the bedroom. One the incredible and most worthy housing we've had during our trip. Easy to check in and out !

Careful with the stairs going downstairs. We had kids there and at the top of the stairs was not safe, they could have jump 10 feet below.

What a privilege to stay in a home with such history, thank you Marcelo, we were in awe and such easy check in with the added bonus of learning how proper ancient locks work :)

Coffee capsules would have made it extra lush

unexpectedly magical. I knew we were going for a medieval stay/experience. but staying in a house inside a medieval walled city was simply unique. the entire accomodation puts you back in the time without taking the conveniences of the modern age like bathroom and supplied kitchen.

parking is tricky. you are not allowed to drive into the city and you car must stay outside the walls. you can though drive inside the first arch to unload luggages and then take it back to outside the perimeter.

The inside of the medieval villa was fantastic. Very comfortable

My sister has bad knees. It was difficult for her to navigate the uphill cobblestone streets. However, we made it and enjoyed our stay immensely. Thank you!

Location couldn’t be better and the medieval architecture of the house is amazing as well as the old lock and it’s key! Host was welcoming and overall it was a great experience.
