I liked almost everything.

Only one toilet. If there is one more toilet will be perfect.

The shower is excellent for a motel. Close to everything.

The cleanliness, everything was updated and looked fresh. The room was really good and met all my needs. Also the location to the beach and surrounding areas was a real positive for me. The value for money that you get with this property was exceptional

We chose this place based on positive recommendations, specifically booking a family room. However, we found that it lacked the necessary amenities and setting for a comfortable family stay. We missed having the convenience of a morning breakfast setup, typically provided by motels, including items like bowls, cups, and a microwave, which are especially helpful when traveling with children. As a result, we had to rush in the early morning to find breakfast options, as we are not fond of cold milk. Additionally, toiletries were not provided, adding to the inconvenience. Despite these shortcomings, everything else about the place was acceptable.

The property had everything we needed. The outdoor facilities catered for a big group and was a great place to sit back and relax.

Shannon the owner was so lovely and hospitable. The space that the owners have created was beautiful, they truly have thought of everything. As a family with small children space was important, and the private yard provided a safe and secure place to play. The outdoor dining area was also fantastic.

A beautiful renovation to what must have been an ordinary motel. My estimated arrival time was 7pm . Reception explained it would not be attended so I was given very clear instructions for access to my room.

1)My first surprise was to read that "the room would not be serviced". My stay was for 5 nights; 3 nights @ $220/night and 2 @ $250/night. You would expect room service at that price. 2)The noise! The Motel is located on a busy road and not far from intersection, and street is going up hill, so cars rave up the little hill 3) The verandah security lights stay on for a long time after someone/something triggered them 4) Toilet seat was broken, swinging slightly from right to left 5) Credenza drawers had pieces of dry leaves in it 6) I had to ask for a stool to sit at bench in "kitchenette"

cozy and aesthetically pleasing enough room, heaps of space for clothes. being able to park right in front of the door is great and the drink vending machine out the front is also very convenient.

mould in the bathroom and some on the ceiling above the bed. no microwave, no plates or utensils or a sink other than the bathroom to clean the set of cups available. would also like somewhere to hang swimmers and towels, like a foldable drying rack or even something in the garden.

The room was very well presented and tastefully designed. It had everything we needed for our short stay. The owners were diligent and made sure we were able to get our key cards. Nelson palms is in a great location and we would definitely stay here again.

The floors felt a bit dirty/greasy under barefoot and there was a dirty/ stained area in the bathroom where the walkway is.

Great location walking distance into Nelson Bay and to our son who lives in Shoal Bay. Accommodation clean and perfect for our needs.

Lovely boutique motel, clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Reasonably well located - easy 15-20 min walk to either Nelson Bay shops/restaurants or Shoal Bay shops/restaurants.

Located on the main street, so being school holidays, there was a lot of traffic noise.

The colour theme suited the area perfectly. The electronic key and storage box were a great asset.

There was no sink in the room. So no facilities to wash up, ( coffee cups are used more than once but no way to clean them in between )
