This is a beautiful hotel very well located. If it was a 4 star hotel and the price was 100 euros less, it would have my highest recommendation. 5 stars is very serious, however. The rooms have no space for suitcases, so you are tripping over them in the superior room. They have usually only 1 waiter for breakfast, so you need to wait at least 20-30 minutes for coffee. They should just allow you to get it yourself. Also, you can be sure to not see a server for 20 minutes at all! Yet, you will have someone coming by to ask if you find everything alright. Other than complete disorganization with the morning staff, the hotel is nice.

Very nice boutique hotel. Carpets in rooms can be updated. Needs shelving in bathroom and a shelf or piece of furniture for room. Beautiful bathroom but nowhere to put anything.

Great hotel on the canal and amazing staff

Hotel is in a great location! The property is nice itself and the people are friendly. Especially the door man! The rooms are a little small but that’s mostly Europe. I’d recommend this hotel.

The staff were extremely friendly and kind, giving us recommendations on travel and places to visit.

Our air conditioner did not work the first night but the staff brought a fan and the air was repaired the following day. Very comfortable after that.

I loved the atmosphere. The hotel is old but well maintained. The staff were amazing. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We had an issue with the air conditioning, and when it was not resolved the first day, they moved us and the rest of the stay was great!

I loved staying at this hotel. It is the oldest hotel in Amsterdam. The location is perfect. We had a canal view which I would absolutely recommend! The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and the bar was also great. I would absolutely stay here again.

Fantastic hotel, they can't do enough for you I would totally recommend this hotel even had a lady with a harp playing to us for breakfast this morning.

The property was very nice but the room very small. It was difficult finding places to eat without a reservation.

We loved the Doelen Hotel and Staff were all terrific. The beautifully situated dining room (unf) becomes overwhelmed - all of our food was overcooked. Fix that bit and the hotel is just fabulous.

This hotel was our least favorite of the 3 we stayed at on our 9 night Belgium/Netherlands trip. We stayed in room 306 - would’ve asked to be moved if we had realized the bed was as bad as it was before we settled in to sleep, but we also feared we’d get a worse room with equally uncomfortable bed!! Pros: Location Historic Building Friendly staff View from our room Cons: Bed was hard as a brick - felt like we slept on the floor & woke up every day in pain. Carpet was disgusting with horrible stains. Room was tiny with plain decor - kind of expected. Didn’t feel like, nor have amenities expected of, a 5 star hotel. Restaurant is apparently run separately from hotel. Minibar situation!!! MAJOR WARNING: You should take a picture & check everything in the minibar refrigerator & drawer…better yet, have someone do this with you there at check in. We didn’t realize someone put an empty bottle back in ours & called to tell them we noticed this when we put some of our water bottles in there. At check out, we were told we used 2 items!!! We used none. And not sure how they would gather that since we only let housekeeping in one day & the empty bottle was still there & never replaced. Seems shady & we will never stay anywhere with a minibar option again. Make sure you get printed copy of receipt at checkout. We were in rush to airport so was told it would be emailed but never received. Still trying to find out if minibar items were charged to us or if it was only city tax.

Beautiful stay at this lovely classy hotel. I wish I could give it 10 stars!! Immaculate, clean, and very classy! Located in the perfect spot in the middle of the city. All landmarks are about an18-20 minute walk. Treat yourself!! We’ll ba back

Beautiful hotel with stunning architecture and lobby. Clean, modern, well-appointed rooms. Canal-view rooms add to the charm. Staff is helpful and efficient. Perfect location for seeing major sights in Amsterdam.

Hotel was exceptional clean and wonderful concierge Maurice!! He couldn’t have been nicer. Room had a wonderful view, however a bit a the small size, but overall wonderful!!

I had a delightful experience at the Tivoli. Upon arrival, a friendly doorman promptly assisted with our bags, setting a welcoming tone from the start. The designated check-in area was cozy, and the staff were both professional and personable. The entire hotel boasts lovely lighting, creating a warm ambiance from the lobby to the rooms. Although our room was on the smaller side, it was well-lit and impeccably clean. Despite the limited space, the bed was comfortable, and the sheets were crisp and fresh. The bathroom, while compact, was equipped with all the essentials. I particularly appreciated the heated towel rack and the hotel-branded towels, which added a touch of luxury. The attention to detail was evident, with amenities like lip balm and nail filler available—a lifesaver when I accidentally broke a nail. Our room offered a stunning view of the river, especially enjoyable on sunny days when the natural light flooded the room, creating a sunbathing-worthy atmosphere. Moreover, the hotel's location in the heart of the city ensured that we were within easy reach of all the activities and attractions. Additionally, the area felt safe, providing peace of mind throughout our stay. The breakfast selection was extensive and of exceptional quality, further enhancing our stay. Without hesitation, I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to others.

Very small rooms but nice comfortable hotel.

The location was perfect, convenient to everything. The hotel was clean and well maintained. The staff was exceptional, very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was delicious, with multiple options. My daughter and I had a wonderful stay.

Everything was new and very classy with expensive taste and decor with the highest of quality, a must stay and very central to walk in the city.

This hotel is faultless as far as we are concerned and I am a very picky guest. The place is beautifully decorated and maintained and the food is absolutely excellent. What we simply could not get over was the absolutely amazing service we received from every single staff member. We travel alot and have never experienced service like it. We would not stay anywhere else in Amsterdam after this.

Only thing was the noise from the street on the ground floor - everything else was fantastic - friendly and helpful staff and breakfast was awesome
