The property is aging. There was no air conditioning in any of the lobby or downstairs area of the hotel. The entire hotel could use some paint and sprucing up. It is no longer among the elite Lusaka hotels and therefore, overpriced. We will be using the Taj Pamodzi for Lusaka trips.

The hotel rooms were filthy! Carpets were stained! Toilet flush was broken! Had to change 3 rooms to find a bed to sleep! High cost for poor value!

I didn’t like anything at intercontinental hotel I was so disappointed. The corridor smells bad, the carpet is dirty you can see it. The bathtub was very dirty you can see it wasn’t cleaned properly, the white bath mat had black stains. I had to wear my flip flops to have a shower. Breakfast meals where terrible and the gym equipments needs replacement, treadmills belts are worn out they need change. Intercontinental hotel is just brand not quality. It’s expensive from nothing just brand. Don’t book there, don’t book for brand book for quality.

Service was great. The hotel has a fleet of taxi cabs to bring you around.

A few minutes to my check out, I noticed something: my Beats headphones were missing. I thought I had just seen them; thought I had used them while I was at the hotel. And then, they were missing. The Manager came to help me look for them, nothing. They were gone. And that, unfortunately, ruined a really good stay at the Intercontinental. The staff were just lovely; the food - nshima and beef - were delicious; sumptuous even. I enjoyed the nights; the bed was comfortable and the room was cozy. No complaints there. The hotel was also close to the office, so that helped me beat the Lusaka traffic. In the meantime, I am waiting to hear from the hotel and how they intend to review my headphone situation.

When I got there stuff where quite friendly and when I asked about late check out I was informed about 50dollas charge for a hour or if I am a member holder card I can check out at 14:00pm. I joined to be a member. The swimming pool was under renovation work so I brought it up with the assistance manager who she was quite helpful and apologize and offer other option for swimming. But I was checking out so she instead offered me points on my membership member card

Everything was as it usually except of the service at the pool and restaurant which was non existent. very frustrating and almost impossible to order and get the bill when finished, not good enough enough for a business class hotel

A great place to stay in the heart of the political district in Lusaka

Convenient for airport and city centre. Comfortable room. Helpful at reception.

Large imposing hotel in centre of capital Lusaka, beautiful lobby & main entrance but general feel of hotel a little tired. Food ok but nothing special. Busy at weekends with different venues. Overall good value imposing hotel.

For an international chain, I was extremely surprised how they NICKELS AND DIMES you for everything and how the staff will argue with what they offer online; talking about the FREE BREAKFAST, telling you that it is incorrect and try to resale it to you when you check in. Fortunately, the managers on duty, at my arrival, after couple of hours of arguing, he honored my accommodation with Free Breakfast and upgrade me for the first two nights and when I had to add one more night the same thing happen again and, after showing them online how it is advertise, they honor the FREE BREAKFAST but did not honor the upgrade. If I have not stayed in other Intercontinental hotels in the last 5 years, I would never used them again, but since I had better experience, I know this does not reflect the chain but that particular hotel. If, it was not for that and giving me a USED toothbrush and toothpaste that was already open with nothing in it, I will have extended for my stay for 3 more nights and recommend it to the world. But, base on these two experiences, I have nothing else to add.

Price of Food in Hotel was not value for money. Selection of food choices was poor. The hotel sleeping area was over run with young children, about 10 to 18 year olds, who needed no sleep and were oblivious to the sleeping and relaxing needs of the rest of the hotel guests. Sleep was very difficult. Requests to arrange some quietness was a waste of time. The situation was out of control, with screaming and shouting permitted by the handlers, was an all night occurrence. Requests to the hotel management for peace bore no result. Disappointing in an otherwise pleasant place to stay.

The Intercontinental is perfect for a short stay if you are in Lusaka for business or just looking for a comfortable over night to or from the airport.
