As a regular visitor to this Hotel, it was great to see the standards haven’t changed.

Room was not clean even there was lots of dust and dirt near the drink glass area. I dont want to tuch some places. My stay was only a night. Marriot gives the name some hotels but it was shame on it.This hotel is not Marriot style.

Reception understaffed with one person. Very to the point, not friendly. We were given complimentary WiFi code only to find out that when setting up there was a £12 charge! That is not complimentary, I nearly fell over a plate and glass that was in the corridor when we went out for the evening at 5, when we got back at 11 it was still there? All the staff seemed miserable. We ordered a taxi through reception who told us it would be 5 mins but we waited over half an hour before we decided to order one ourselves. No atmosphere, dark and dingy. We won’t stay at this hotel again.

Everything was perfect. The breakfast was especially lovely and well priced. The breakfast manager in particular was a star. Under refurb right now, but noise was at a minimum and entry still very clean and the alternatives for bar and restaurant well chosen and efficiently run. Organised and efficient, clean and comfortable.

A good stop over before going to France. Very comfortable, but foot not so great.

Hotel room was not cleaned from previous clients, room was totally disgusting, food trays lying everywhere in all hallways. Staff moved us to a lower level worse room right next to lifts after realising room was messy. We didn't expect this, manager refused to talk to us directly and apologise. Finally got a cleaned room from disgruntled and embarrassed staff. Review will not allow to up load photos.

Nice big spacious room and easy check in system. Only complaint is that the bathroom had t been cleaned properly and quite a lot of hairs on the walls and floor of the shower, and on the towels.

Room not vacuumed , mould in bathroom , limited amenity in the room, shampoo and conditioner terrible smell and not good for hair, pillows very uncomfortable, bed sheets too big for the duvet or too small, no restaurant , no bar, no where to set down .

Very dated building with stains on carpet and walls. Front desk reception seemed always to be under resourced and rushed. They also want to charge extra for everything such as parking, wifi etc they have lost sight of the customer and not giving value or service.

Easy to get to from the ferry terminal. Great place to relax after a long journey. Comfortable and spacious rooms, great shower! Friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant had a variety of food and good portion sizes. Would definitely recommend a stay

Great quick stay for a meeting. Hotel was excellent overall and accommodating. Easy parking. A little short journey to the city but facilities in the hotel was great.

It was a quick overnight stay, room was ok clean. However carpets not so. Beds were quite comfortable, however room was situated near the lifts so could hear everyone as they came out of the lifts until late at night.

Excellent hotel to a good clean standard, suitable location for travelling in to Portsmout, reasonably priced with great atmosphere.

A very comfortable stay with a great room on level 6 providing a view of greater Portsmouth (views of Portchester Castle). Great amenities in the room. Good gym with plenty of equipment though pool / spa was not in order and being renovated. Recommended for those with a vehicle as parking is available and close to main roads M27 etc.

I have been to this hotel a number of times before and always had a lovely experience
On this occasion I was kept awake by what sounded like drilling
When I mentioned this to the reception staff they were very nice and apologised
They think it may be the lift making the noise
Definitely don’t get a room near the lifts as they make a lot of noise

We stay often. Bar staff and reception very helpful.
Room not the best as facing the courtyard which means:- no natural light, you can’t open curtains as people can see through nets and noise from below.
Also, check out is 12, cleaners knocked at 10am - get lost!!
