Staff were friendly and helpful

There was a mouse in my room and so I was relocated. There were must footprints in the hall to my room all weekend. The concierge was very polite and accommodating.

Love the position, and the coffee downstairs, but the lifts pretty slow ..🍻

Great location, comfortable and clean

Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed by our stay. Some things that contributed to this were for example - we paid the additional charge for breakfast for 2 $28 which stated Weekdays cold breakfast, and full hot and cold breakfast Fri-Sun, came down for breakfast (Sat) and was told it was only continental breakfast no egg and bacon etc only toast cereal etc. Which is pretty disappointing for the price especially when it was advertised differently. - I called reception later in the night requesting some more towels and an additional blanket due to already having used the 2 towels provided and it was cold in the room. The heater was on 29 full fan however was certainly not working as it should. Reception said they were too busy?? and would replenish towels in the morning?? - Just before 6pm I called reception to see if we could use the microwave in the kitchen to heat up some food, we were told the kitchen is closed but if you want to heat up food there is 7-11 up the street. Assuming the kitchen was not open on this day at all by the way we were brushed off, I carried my 2 year old all the way to 7-11 and back to see the kitchen now open?? They could have just said it opens at 6 and we would have waited. Overall just really disappointing and not value for money.

The room we stayed in (225) had a connecting door to the next room. I think it can only be a single door, which was secured by a simple bolt. We could hear every word the couple were saying next door. It felt very invasive, and not at all private.

Heating not working in room, ask reception to look at and noting done, ended up staying at another hotel

My clothes were stolen from the clothes dryer that they supplied for guests to use whilst staying there and paying to use the washing machine and drye.

Hotel was clean & comfortable. However got woken up several times during the night, walls are thin as I could hear the people in room next door talking & excessive noise coming from upstairs. $150 Credit card pre authorisation/hold was also unexpected & excessive.

The crest is extremely dated. Elevator not working on arrival, bathroom with black mould, beds so uncomfortable. Asked for another towel as they forgot one, was given bath mat. Won’t be back sadly.

Room was passable with a comfy bed - parts have clearly been renovated recently. Narrow halls (barely able to get a suitcase down the corridor) and inconveniently located stairs and elevators. Charging heaps for parking yet advertising ‘free parking onsite’. Poor infrastructure in the rooms - multiple powerpoints in the room were not functioning, non-functioning bedside lamps and trickle water pressure in the shower. Pretty shonky setup.

The breakfast was inedible. No hot food and continental breakfast was stale.

Great location. Easy to walk to nearby restaurants on Fitzroy st.

I recently stayed at The Crest on Barkly for work and had a very disappointing experience. There was a large group booking at the hotel, which caused a lot of noise due to the poor facilities, such as a door separating two rooms. I requested to have my room relocated at 10:30 pm because of the noise, but initially, the manager denied my request. She even threatened to call the police on me because she was told I was slamming my hand on the desk, although I was only tapping my room card on the table. I was simply at the front of the line when other guests arrived after me, and she claimed I was preventing her staff from serving others. I was then informed that I needed to wait 30-45 minutes for the manager to arrive to “sort it out,” but she still refused to change my room. I returned to my room and continued to pack my belongings, preparing to leave the hotel for the night due to the ongoing noise. When I went back to reception, the manager had not arrived yet, but they finally changed my room after all the arguments and stress. The new room was bigger in size, but the quality was lower, especially the air conditioning. Overall, it was a very average experience and not what you want while traveling for business.

Amenities aplenty. Staff were helpful and great. The little coffee shop underneath was amazing. Shower was hot, room clean and bed comfy. Only one night, but necessary after a big night out.

Close all shops in the st kilda area

Good for the price, no complaints.

Terrible internet. Loud, walls are pretty thin.
