Amazing staff, hotel was very clean, restaurant is delicious and fairly priced.

We liked the breakfast buffet very much especially the overnight Oats, the Pools and the friendlyness of the staff.

Hidden costs US$100 per day for parking($39) and Service fee for whatever, I don't know.

Nestled under the landing path for the Lihue airport two miles away rests the faded Outrigger KBR. Upon entering the updated lobby we were greeted by the sounds of the lounge singer who was trying to make up in volume what she lacked in talent, making any time spent in the lounge painful on multiple levels. When we entered our musty room we were faced with a leaking toilet in an otherwise standard but clean room. When we asked the staff to put us in another room (no maintenance was available at night) they quickly responded and placed us in the room immediately across from the loud ice machine and next to the elevator both despite explicit requests not to do so. If you are beach fans you may want to focus on the wonderful beaches elsewhere on the island as the beach in front of the Outrigger is quite small and covered with debris. The pools are lovely, but the staff does warn you to wear shoes to avoid the droppings of the numerous chickens on the property. Overall, the Outrigger is nice enough with a friendly staff that tries to overcome a resort which has seen better days.

It’s beautiful and the staff is amazing!

One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. Not only did they mess up our booking, but upon arrival they gave us a different room than what we specifically asked for. The towels in the room were dirty, the room smelled musty and humid, the shower curtain was broken, the shower was leaking and the pillows were literal rocks. The resort is not up to par with other resorts I have stayed at, there are not enough beach chairs or umbrellas and when you request for any the answer is that they are limited. 6 pairs of umbrellas and lounge chairs is not enough for a resort. They don’t have room service and did not bother to alert any guests about the fire drill, keep in mind we were in the shower panicking because we heard the fire alarm and rushed out only to be told that we could go back to our rooms it was a drill, there was no alert or anything. The quality of the room was not the best and neither was the food, while the lobby entrance may be pretty and relaxing other than the pool area there is nothing else for this hotel to stand out with. If I would have known the lack of upkeep and quality before hand I would have not stayed at this hotel. Beware all other great reviews, those guests clearly have not stayed at quality accommodations because anyone that thinks this hotel is worth staying at is on drugs.

Meh. We’ve stayed here as a family many, many times but it went downhill after Covid. The kid pool has limited seating and sun loungers. The staff didn’t seem very friendly at the outdoor bar and towel hut. We won’t be back.

Absolutely loved this resort. The rooms are super clean, the staff was super friendly and willing to offer great local place to eat and cool things to see while we were in Kauai. We had the best experience, and would highly recommend this resort to anyone

Guest services was amazing! We truly appreciated the customer support. The only negative that we had was with Shawn at concierge. His attitude truly needed an adjustment. He was condescending to our questions and even stated…go book online then. He was not customer service focused like the rest of the entire hotel staff. Great hotel! Will be back for sure.

Really enjoyed the beautiful pool, sweet water slide, and kind/helpful staff. Dennis in the valet area was warm and friendly, as was everyone with whom we came I to contact. I was really pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed our stay there. The fish wrap sandwich at the pool snack bar was fresh and excellent (split one with my daughter and it was plenty). Not a super luxurious resort, but perfectly laid out, wonderful vibe, good food and drinks. Beautiful pool, not too crowded, and perfectly delightful for non-snobby types. We appreciated being able to experience the island from this little slice of paradise, and to enjoy the aloha spirit from all the wonderful folks at Outrigger. We would definitely stay again.

Great hotel! We’ve stayed before. The staff is excellent! However, beds are small and not comfy. Avoid, ocean front accessible. This is a disabled room and is a view to pool. Not ocean. Paid. More there for the pool. They didn’t gave anymore regular ocean front to accommodate me. Otherwise, beautiful place. One, person a bed is good.

Nice resort. Good location. Nice people. No VIP upgrades.

This property has building located around it that have signs posted on them stating do not enter. They are in terrible condition and look to be unsafe yet they have people living in them.

Bed was uncomfortable but housekeeping was very helpful.

Everything was fine, the afternoon staff made me feel like me asking questions was such an inconvenience for them. Obviously I didn’t know where anything was, and them having that attitude didn’t make it any better. The valet people were absolutely wonderful very nice and the room service was great as well!

Great property and service

The property was beautiful. Nice pools and easy access to the beach. They were doing construction on the roof of our building while we were there so that was a bit annoying. Overall I would highly recommend this property and would visit again.

Convenient location. It's difficult to operate the parking entrance and exit with the access card. Also, the gate arm suddenly came down and hit my son, which was very unpleasant.

Not worth it for the price we paid. Everything was good but I wouldn’t say great or excellent - just good. I would only come back to this resort if they significantly reduced what they charge. The added parking and resort fees were super annoying too, but I realize that most places charge these added costs (even though we didn’t use any of the resort amenities, we still got charged). The room was ok, but the lamp shade looked pretty beat up, and some of the paint and trim could use a refresh. The gift shop / coffee shop (which also sells simple breakfast sandwiches, snacks, and over the counter medications, sunblock, etc) was shockingly, jaw-droppingly expensive. $6.50 for a small orange juice. $9 for ONE SINGLE DOSE of cold medicine. $18 for a breakfast bagel. It was absolutely ridiculous, and frankly, disgusted me. We made sure to eat outside of the resort and shop at the local Walmart for snacks, sunblocks, and medications. Just overall not super impressed, sorry 😞

We liked the Outrigger, just not super happy with something that happened to us, meaning an alarm system went off all night on our first night there and the staff was a bit nonchalant about it and just offering a free breakfast for the inconvenience. We literally didn’t sleep at all the first night at the resort. The facilities in general are passable, the staff not terribly friendly, I suppose that the Hawaiian way..

was a nice place to end our vacation. close to the airport. wish it had an airport shuttle available.
