Entering the hotel you hit with the smell of mildew. When the elevator doors opened up on the second floor the smell was worse than the lobby area. My room had the same horrible over powering mildew smell. When i got home my clothes in my bag smelled like mildew. It's bad.

There was roaches on the floor. When entering the hotel smelled like straight chlorine and mold meldew. The rooms were not the correct size requested and also they weren’t clean at all. Had to clean the room myself and wipe all areas. Asked for a handicappped room and didn’t receive one. My spouse who is the one handicapped almost fell in the bathroom due to this. Staff kept asking if I had an animal when I didn’t. The laundry room was a disaster and the staff did not take care well of the breakfast area, food was cold and also stale. I will not be staying at this hotel ever again and would like a full refund.

This was by far the worst hotel we have ever stayed in! Mold and mildew everywhere, wet walls with holes, roaches, stained sheets and pillows, dirty shower and blood stains in the bathroom. Switched rooms and both were equally as bad! Staff didn’t give two craps. Other hotel guests complaining as well. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this trash.

No elevator used stairs but they told us ahead of time .
The rooms need to upgrade carpet kind of smelly and old . The room furniture old as well . Overall need upgrade repair , new furniture .

Way over priced for a hotel that stinks like mold ice machines were broken and entrance doors wouldn't work. Very small parking lot too a 1star hotel with a 4 star price. Stay away from this hotel.

Unfortunately the interior of the property looks wildly out of date and not in good shape. The whole property smelled damp and mildew-y. Bedding had stains and holes, spider webs in corners, carpets were dirty and not vacuumed, rust, chipped corners, etc.

Looks good on line but inside it’sdefintiely lacking cleanliness. Mold in many spots, stains on sheets, walls had smears. The food was so stale and cold we couldn’t eat, you can tel its cheap frozen processed items. Staff was helpful when needed tho, I’d give it a 2.5/5

Hotel shows is beginning to show age. No air conditioning in hallways or elevator. My air condioner did not work and had to change rooms. Toilet also leaked and would not stop running. Coffee bar was not lacking items. Was there for 4 days and no room service. Ran out of towels, coffee and coffee cups. Thermostat did not work in either room, but my second room did have cold air. Overall, dont expect anything fancy, but I was there for a fishing trip so basically used it for shower and bed. Breakfast was mediocre. Garbage cans were not emptied in the 4 days i was there and trash was being stacked up.

This room was filthy, for lack of a better word. The ceiling was completely stained from water leaks. The walls and wall decor were stained and/or had some film over them. The back of the room door looks like a xhild took a permanent marker to it. There were several very bad wall repairs. Any decor that had metal was rusting. The vanity light didnt work. No matter what you set the ac, the humidity was ridiculous, which probably explains the rust. I've stayed at many hotels in the area and understand humity is normal for the area, Im a South TX girl, but never as much as it was not just in the room, but the entire hotel. I stayed in this hotel a few years ago and it is so sad to see how it has not been maintained. I will not return to this hotel.

Location is very convenient. Near the Beach access and nearby restaurants and shops. Room is clean and satisfactory.

Loved that the pool was inside and it was not freezing cold. Unfortunately the jacuzzi was not working. I did read the reviews prior to choosing this hotel and knew that the hotel was going to have a smell but it wasn’t bad. The smell was more of moisture. The rooms were huge which was great to fit my son’s playpen. The ac in the room worked so well that even my husband got cold at night.

The room I originally booked was horrible. So I had to book La Quinta last minute. It was very expensive for this level of Hotel, but it was memorial day weekend. During check-in, I was told that my card was declined. It took a good 20 minutes to figure it out, but they got it straight and we were able to check in. As soon as we went into our room, someone knocked to make sure that the room had been cleaned as, they had been working on it I thought this was great that they made sure. In the morning I went down for breakfast early and my son went later. They ran out of several things, but replaced them on request, except for the milk. They ran out and people were waiting. They have an indoor pool, we did not try it but other seem to be enjoying it. The staff was very friendly and the hotel was clean and comfortable and provided a hot breakfast. Overall, we were very happy.

The first room we got had fead bugs/roaches all over the place and it smelled like it was fumigated just before our check in. The front desk found out we had a dog and later acknowledged that they planned one clean room for us first then after asking about pets they switched us to a dirtier rolm - they told us that to our faces. The new room was better but the elevator was not working so people walked past our room and banged the door all night. Barely got any sleep. In the morning we were walking our dog - had to go far from the hotel as there was dog poop all around, big ones too. It’s people that are pigs not to pick up after tjeir dogs but it adds up to overall impression. Totally not worth the money we had to pay for the stay.
If you can find any other places to stay - avoid this hotel. Management is a failure, they were just “sorry” when I shared my experience. Staff speaks bad English so it’s very hard to understand.

The stay was ok. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Had trouble with the dresser drawer. It wouldn't stay closed the one handle was just hanging. The air conditioner kept making a knocking noise every time it would turn on! All through the night. This place really needs to upgrade their furniture!

WE USED TO ENJOY OUR STAY HERE IN THE PAST, BUT, THIS TIME IT WAS NOT GOOD. OUR DOOR WOULDN'T LOCK, MAINTENENCE MAN HAD TO COME AND FIX IT TWICE, WE FELT UNSAFE NOT KNOWING IF ANYONE COULD JUST WALK IN OUR DOOR OR IF JUST ANYONE COULD WALK IN WHILE WE WERE OUT. THE FIRST NIGHT THE HOT TUB WAS COLD, THE FOOD WAS NOT GOOD, EVEN FOR CONTINENTAL. THE COFFEE WAS GOOD AND THAT'S ABOUT IT. HOUSEKEEPING NEVER CAME TO THROW OUT OUR TRASH, NO CLEAN TOWELS, NO TOILET PAPER. THE RESTROOM FLUSHING WAS SO LOUD IT HURT OUR EARS AND THEN IT WOULDN'T GO DOWN WITH ONE FLUSH.

I booked my room there because it was a La Quinta. I was absolutely shocked when I walked in at the condition of the building and the furniture. There was a very pungent smell in the air the rooms. The furniture in the lobby isn’t very poor condition, it was filthy and tattered. I understood that there would be a little extra time checking in because of spring break however they had one older gentleman working and it took us over 35 minutes in line to get checked in. And we waited 20 or 30 minutes on checkout and no one ever showed up so we left , the people were very kind people, but the place was more like a motel than it was like a La Quinta that I have loved and all of my adult life

Bed sheets and some towels were dirty first night and they don’t clean the room and beds the next day they were stating that they were short on personal so they give us the bed sheets to do it our self. But at check in they don’t forget to ask me for my CC and ask why if I already paid they answer Just in case we have to charge something after check out
