It was a good hotel. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The food was good. The location is good. Sound proofing the rooms would help since they have music entertain emend everything night and it lasts until 3.00 am. They need to help their reception staff with proper updating software programs. The lack of such programs caused us hours of anguish at the checkin time and caused their staff at the reception to deny our reservation made about four months earlier. Thanks to he people at the reception we were able to get our reservation problem resolved.

I hate writing bad reviews, but hotel management at Diar LeMedina preferred a bad review to refunding our last three nights, so here goes… We waited an hour-and-a-half past check-in for our room with no explanation. No one came to inform us of anything; we had to keep approaching reception to ask. Dinner was awful. The dining hall was cramped, crowded, dirty. You have to wait in long lines to get anything. You can barely move through the room. It was more of the same. The first night, we were treated to all night partying from the nightclub right outside our room. We thought it would end at 2 AM. 3 AM rolled around, 4 AM no sleep. 5 AM we got dressed to go to reception, because the phone wasn’t working in our room (probably because they get so many complaints from the all-night pounding, which was literally shaking the desk and walls), but once we got outside, the club finally closed. The final straw happened the next night at the restaurant. We brought in bottled water, because one of our party has a medical condition requiring low calcium water. The restaurant staff refused to allow it. I know that sounds ridiculous, and it is. My husband remained calm explaining the situation, but they went so far as to remove our glasses from our table, so we couldn’t use them. Hotels.com tried to resolve the issue, but the hotel refused to refund us. Hotels.com was professional and helpful, offering coupons to put toward another hotel stay.

Hour-and-a-half late check-in. Dirty, old, dingy room. Music pounding till 5 AM from nightclub. Awful restaurant service. After spending two days with our heads pounding, we wanted to be refunded our final three days and leave. As the director spoke to my husband, I was in our hotel room, contacting Hotels.com to see if they could work out a refund. While there, two of the staff used a key card to get in our room. No knocking, just opened the door to come in. When they saw me there, they apologized and left. I have no idea what they were entering our room for, but that scenario scared my mother-in-law and grandma so much that they didn’t want to stay alone that night, so we ended up staying overnight in their room for security. In the end, the director offered compensation of a massage and hammam, but at this point, we were over it. We couldn’t even look at their faces. Service was just dismissive, rude, and unprofessional. The whole experience left a bad taste in our mouths. One positive note: the bellhop was the only smile we received from service staff. He should get a raise. Hotels.com tried to resolve the issue with the hotel, but we weren’t given a refund. Hotels.com was professional and helpful, offering us coupons to put toward another hotel stay, which we did. Mass tourism... Luckily buildings in the shape of an old Medina, rooms however are ordinary and bed as hard as a rock.

Hotel is HUGE - so many things to do there if you dont want to pop out. The room was amazing, over two floors. Spacious and clean.

Our stay was for 2 nights with breakfast and dinner included (half board). The room was very spacious and clean with comfortable beds and pillows. The room also had a full kitchen but the only dish provided was a pasta strainer. We did not use the kitchen so this was not an issue during our stay. Staff at the hotel were very friendly, and offered games for us to play at the pool. The restaurant for half board meals provided lots of choices for both breakfast and dinner including European continental and Tunisian dishes.

Two of us staying. Nice quiet apartment with kitchen. Staff in all areas could not be more friendly or helpful.Excellent. Food on half board was good and plentiful. Heaps to visit and see. Primarily a resort hotel, excellent for families, particularly with children. If you want quiet you need to select your room when booking. Cannot fault the staff or facilities.

The answer was go bring it from the bar. Overall a part from these two incidents the rest was ok. The staff is nice. The rooms conditions are just acceptable.

We had the family room which was actually an apartment with two bedrooms, two bathrooms (one being en suite) kitchen and a large living room leading to the balcony. The rooms were very spacious and clean and were cleaned everyday by the maid. We were half board so had breakfast and dinner at the hotel everyday, the food was good as they had a large variety which was changed everyday. The best part of the hotel was the entertainment and animation team, my kids loved the mini disco every evening with max, wael and lama who were very friendly and made sure the kids were having a good time. Also the mini club was great too and a special thanks goes to tata who took great care of the kids. I would definitely recommend this hotel especially for families with kids. This hotel is located in the centre of the medina where shops and restaurants are very nearby.

Hotel in process of major renovation. The rooms are spacious and the facilities ample. The location is ideal and central to everything. The beach is a short walk away. The restaurant provides top class food and the chefs and waiting staff are brilliant. Nice bar and the waiters and bar man are friendly and provide excellent service. I cannot fault this hotel, from the security staff, cleaners, reception, waiters and chefs, all greet with smiles and excellent service. 5 star quality.

We also had 2 balconies (one upstairs, and one downstairs). The staff were extremely friendly & welcoming as always, food was excellent & the rooms nice & clean. The drinks included in the all inclusive deal were fantastic. Nothing else to say really, except thar this is one exceptional hotel that treats its guests very well, love it & can't wait to go back.

The rooms are really spacious. All the staff are really friendly from the reception staff to the cleaners. There is plenty of choice of food with fresh cooked pasta at lunch and dinner.

Hotel was ok, Reception needs to be more organised. All inclusive was a wast of time as the food was the same every day and the local wine they allow you to have is shocking as so is the beer. So ended up paying for wine I liked witch was Tunisian and local but was not on the all inclusive menu. And after 3 nights of the buffet ended up eating out every night. I recommend bella Marina restaurant probably the best restaurant I have used in Tunisia so far. I chose this hotel because of the reviews on trip adviser, now either the hotel is cutting costs or the people writing the reviews have lived very sheltered life's. Was very dissatisfied after such great reviews .

I had a great time at Diar Lemdina. The staff was super nice and the animation team were very entertaining. Definitely a place I would go to again!

the location is excelent and the service and rooms are the best,many thanks to mr, loutfi in the recieption he was helpful and friendly, only one note the wifi has to be improved .

While the lobby was ok my room was well away from the hotel and was worn with a rattling air conditioner which barely cooled the room to a tolerable level. They did serve alcohol in Ramadan which was greatly welcomed.

The hotel was one of the nicest in the area. It is a very beautiful hotel outside and inside. I enjoyed the hotel, the room was beautiful and spacious inside. Shopping and eating was a few feet away from our room, and the beach was very close also. The indoor swimming pool was a nice touch. After a few days we found out that eating in the cafe's resteraunt at the hotel was the cheapest. (Not the formal hotel resteraunt....it was ok.) The area around the hotel was pretty safe we went walking every night after dinner and no one disturbed us. Alcohol at the hotel is expensive but we found out if you walked to the supermarket a few blocks away you can buy a bottle of alcohol pretty cheap. The only negative thing I have to add about the hotel is that it seems like the walls are thin because you can hear lots of noises. People bumping into the walls, kids playing, People talking. It also seems like the hotel workers were getting ready for the summer season (we went in March) because there was constant hammering and loud construction type sounds all day long. Despite the loud noises the hotel overall was great, the staff was nice and the location was perfect, alittle far from the city but to just get away and relax it was the perfect location.

If you have kids then I would highly recommend staying at this hotel. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and did their best to make your stay enjoyable. I read other reviews before going on to this hotel, and so prepared myself for a medicore hotel. I think that the reviews that do rate this hotel highly, are rexpecting too much.We stayed in the self catering apartments. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a senior suite from a junior suite - without asking. The apartments were always cleaned to excellent standard - you need to wash up your own dishes.Fresh towels and bed linen everyday. the breaksfast buffet was tasty, and the beach and shops not too far away.The Viking and tex mex restaurants served very tasty food. Prices were the sames as london prices wherever you went.And make sure you top up on your french language,as everything is written in that !

We had a luxurious pension which was extremely spacious.Lovely marble and traditional tiles in bathroom with huge bath and great shower.Living room, kitchen diner ,spacious bedroom and outdoor courtyard with seating made it like a home from home.Great indoor pool in hotel.We didn't get to use the outdoor pool as weather was unusually cool (we went end of March) but it looked lovely.Staff were helpful but if you have a smattering of French,use it as I did.I feel sure that the service I received was better as a result.Food was as good in the hotel restaurant as anywhere else in the resort so we went half board for the last half of our stay which was much,much better value than the other restaurants and we tried quite a few.The hotel is part of a much larger tourist comlpex including a Medina with shops and restaurants and a theme park so you are close to everything ang its only a ten minute walk to the beach.This hotel is great quality and fantastic value.
