Close to city centre and perfect for tourist weekend. Bit quirky design being in a historic refurbished building, lobby is very small and bit of a rabbit warren to get to the rooms. Has everything one needs. Great that it has a spa and gym.

Stunning hotel architecturally, worth exploring even if you don’t stay there. Great pool and spa area.

Room was ok but bad room service! Personal were not well educated for their job ! Breakfast nothing special at all , bar were old ! Not a 5 star at alllll !

Beautiful hotel in a great location with nice facilities. The SPA is very nice with plenty of choice in ways to relax! Staff very friendly and helpful. Courteous and genuinely happy to help with any enquiries, also gave some great recommendations for places to visit. Room was big, clean and had everything you need.

Breakfast buffet is exceptional. Everything so fresh and well cooked. I’m a vegetarian and options are clearly marked with endless choices. Very comfortable beds. Housekeeping twice a day with little treats. Staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I will definitely stay here again

We stayed 3 nights in 2 different reservations. The first night was good. But the 2nd and 3rd night were terrible in room #5. We tried to move rooms but were unable to. When checking out, I also shared this discomfort and they said they receive a lot of complaints in this room. It is located next to the service elevator and all of the carts bang against the wall where the bed is located. We did not sleep in this loud, vibrating room.

The place has a character and a feel of a long history combined with modern amenities.

Great hotel and friendly staff. Rooms are huge! Very big hotel. Parking is available for 75 euro, not sure if it’s onsite or taken to a local parking facility as the staff take the car for you. Central location everything in walking distance. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to use the spa but it looked nice and could have used after check out too.

Everything was excellent! I did enjoy my stay.

Nice hotel with friendly staff

Hotel is nice enough , centrally located. The spa pool and sauna were great. The shower in our room was terrible, couldn't move it and very low pressure.

Staff amazing and loved the building

The hotel profile says "parking available". The website has a whole page devoted to parking. But they don't tell you that it's 75 a night. Nor that they make no concessions at all to disabled drivers. We were told we could park in a public car park a 400m walk away for 40 a day but with mobility issues, that wasn't a solution for us. We complained and after much heated discussion, we were promised a discount when the hotel manager came in on the Monday but in the end no such discount was offered, by which time our car had been in the car park for 2 nights. Profiteering, pure and simple. The hotel admits that it discriminates against disabled people in its practises ("we treat all guests the same", which is tantamount to discrimination and breaches Dutch law in failing to make reasonable accommodation for disabled customers) and justifies its position on the basis that to park on the street costs €150/day. Also, if you find steps difficult (we don't, fortunately), the disabled entrance is in a separate area and on the whole, the hotel really isn't suitable for you. It's a real shame because the building is an absolute delight - which is why we have given 2 stars. It's an early Art Deco gem and if you love that design, this is the place for you. The details on the interior in particular are worth seeing. Also the room was wonderful but there's no a/c, be warned. It's just a shame about the service and the policies of the management, which ruined the experience for us.

Nice hotel, most staff helpful, some not! Wouldn’t rate as a 5 star hotel. Our suite was dark and quite unkept and no proper air conditioning. Not worth the money we spent, but we still had a great time!

I loved the staff atention

The hotel is magnificent. We just loved being in an old historical building with tall ceilings and tall windows. The common areas are so beautiful. It was just wonderful. We are planning on coming back to Amsterdam for a longer stay and we will return to Grand Hotel Amrath.

The location is convenient within walking distance to the station. Very helpful staff. The hotel requires some upgrades.

This was a fantastic hotel and I highly recommend staying there if you are in Amsterdam. A short walk from the Central train station and close to everything. The staff and amenities are all top notch. Great option if you are looking for one.
