This was our second stay here. Excellent house, hospitality, grounds, staff, food, rooms, views - you name it. Close to downtown Watkins Glen. It is safe, quiet, and relaxing. We’ll go again and again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at their beautiful B&B. Marcus couldn't have been more accommodating and Elin's breakfast were awesome! Their historic home was so fun to stay in. We were close to the many hikes, falls and wineries along the lake. Great vacation!

Nice old mansion with a lot of charm. We wanted a private bathroom and were in a very small room by the kitchen.

This is a beautiful place to stay. Marcus is an attentive host and makes everyone feel special and welcome. I particularly appreciated that he permitted me to use his L2 charger for my electric car. Would love to come back here.

The owners were very attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. The breakfasts were amazing!! We loved the location and the incredible views from the porch.

We loved staying here. The bed was super comfortable in our room and the breakfasts were delish! The host, Marcus, was very attentive and the house is fantastic. We stayed over in the carriage house but the big house had so many rooms with things to entertain you! A huge wrap around porch and an enclosed gazebo with its own wine cork puller! We really loved the feel and beauty of this place. The view was a bit covered over by fully grown trees, just some peeks through, and those peeks were fabulous, but the landscaping around the house made up for it. So many places to sit and BREATHE! I bet the full view is gorgeous once the leaves fall! OOOH, and I bet the fall up there is gorgeous also!

My wife and I felt at home during our stay. Your place is beautiful and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed our breakfasts on the front porch every morning. Hopefully we both get to see the legendary E Street Band in 2024 🎸

This property is wonderful, the staff are welcoming, friendly and incredible. Hot water, excellent water pressure and well equipped for plug ins. The breakfast is homemade and fantastic! The service is 5 star and unmatchable. Can’t wait to go back. Cycling, wineries and fantastic food options. Fell in love with Idlwilde and Watkins Glen

Lovely gracious comfortable stay. Room 14 was large with beautiful view. Air conditioning worked well and bed was amazingly comfortable. The house common areas and grounds are fantastic. Wonderful big porch with many comfy chairs and view of lake and well maintained gardens. Great breakfast and coffee (delicious veggie quiche, sausage, cantaloupe wedges, potatoes- changes daily) Owners and staff go above and beyond too!!

The property was very beautiful and so was our room. Only complaint was the bedframe was pretty squeaky anytime you changed sleeping positions. Other than that, the mattress was a lot more comfy than other hotels I've stayed at.

The Idlwilde Inn is INCREDIBLE!!! We had an absolutely fantastic time, the inn itself is beautiful, great location, and the BEST people!! The breakfast each morning was wonderful and Stella (the cutest dog ever) will come down and say hello as you are having morning coffee. Overall, this place is by far the best accommodation option in Watkins Glen!

We really enjoyed our stay, and will definitely return. The Watkins Glen area is beautiful, and there is a great view of the lake from the Idlwilde. The grounds are maintained beautifully. One does not have to leave the property in order to enjoy the area! There are plenty of places on the grounds to sit and relax, and take it all in. There are also plenty of spots inside to relax too. We really felt like we were at home! We stayed in room 10, which has a separate reading room (in the turret), and a balcony. We were able to watch the sunrise each morning from the room and balcony. Breakfast was also great! We hope to return soon!

Beautiful property on a hill overlooking the lake. The owners are super friendly and have outfitted the property such that you might just want to hang out there for the day or evening - lawn games such as croquet, board games, puzzles. The front wrap around porch offers a. Nice seating area with a view of the lake. The hot breakfast wears delicious. The only negative was that the room we stayed on was a little cramped. We stayed in the ADA compliant room. Also the hill up to the street where the property is located was very steep

We stayed there during our July 4th Finger Lakes holiday week for 3 nights at Idlewilde Inn. We arrived just before 3pm on the date of check-in and the owner met us in the main house. When we showed our booking, he guided us to another building "Carriage House" which has just 2 rooms and away from the main mansion that probably had much better rooms. The carriage house bldg was terribly old and worn out, including all their furniture, bed, bed sheets, terrible chairs and dirty flooring carpets. First night was just us but next day other people came to occupy the room directly across from us and they brought a large family dog (s/he was sweet dog but still) and then realized we were placed where guests traveling with pets. I suffered terrible allergy throughout the stay and we both felt the whole situation was unpleasant especially we were never explained about this as well as the price we paid for 3 nights stay at such a terrible room was totally unjustified. Moreover, due to COVID-19, they didn't replenish towels during the whole 3 days and also there were never enough waters for the old shared coffee machine (located at the tiny landing of terribly old creaky stairs) even though we asked multiple times. From all of the hotels/B&Bs we experienced through Expedia booking, this Inn was probably one of the worst we've ever stayed in this price bracket. Only good thing was their breakfast which was good and tasty, but overall, we definitely cannot recommend this place.

This was a wonderful experience! Our room was clean, improvements are constantly being made to the historic building, breakfast was both filling and delicious, and the innkeeper is informative – about the history of the house as well as local recommendations – and attentive without being overbearing. We'll be staying at the Idlwilde Inn when we return to Seneca Lake.

This is a pretty convenient location to all the amenities in Watson Glen yet far away from the traffic noise. Perched on a slope, a nice view of the lake was seen during breakfast. Our first floor room was near the back entrance which made it easy to move luggage from the car

Beautiful property! We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was wonderfully romantic. The views of the lake are incredible!

I had an wonderful stay here a couple of weeks ago. The host were absolutely lovely and made me feel rite at home. The property was extra clean as that was a concern traveling during COVID. My room was beautiful with a sitting area in the sunroom. I also had a private living room. The bed sheets were super soft and bathroom very spacious. I had my morning coffee on the beautiful wrap around porch followed by a home made breakfast. I can’t wait to visit again!!
