Comfortable Clean Safe accommodation.
The Room was upgraded to a 2 Bedroom apartment at no charge while it might have been 3 Star Accommodation but the proprietors service was 5 Star.

The room was old and the WiFi had a signal but didn't work for more than a few minutes

Unit generally clean and beds were very comfortable, however units need upgrading as there is evidence of unclean and water damaged areas in bathroom and toilet area. Sofa badly stained and quite uncomfortable. Poor lighting in lounge. The whole complex needs a complete upgrade.

I would have given a 5 star over all, except the most important thing. THE BED! The mattress was so uncomfortable, I slept poorly and woke up with a terrible aching back.
No complaints about anything else, check in was a breeze and the people are extremely nice. Aside from the bed, everything else was 5 star.

Convenient location.. spacious room. Friendly owners. I did however had my towel accidentally taken by cleaner as i took 1 of my own grey towels as stayed 3 nights but i didnt know there would be daily towels changes, so i had to go buy a new towel. Apart from that everything was great. Will stay again

Great area for motel. Unclean on arrival stayed 4 nights. The bed was nice. Clean sheets but the dishes had not be cleaned at all. The room did not get cleaned at all with our stay.

Property needs a bit of maintenance, but good sized units and lovely staff/management. could not have been more helpful.

The unit was dirty and smelled (affected my breathing) Chairs and couch stained. One chair had no material backing. Kitchen's venetian blind had mildew stains and broken. Needs a good going over with paint on the window sills etc. Also curtains stained.

Uncleanliness, kitchen utensils unwashed or unchecked, and lack of hot water due to being “an old building” is not really fit for a Motel.

Attempts to contact office for early check in not successful Arrived and the motel looked run down compared to pics on internet, notice on office door said office closed and had to call a number and suddenly they appear. Opened the room and the room smelt badly of damp mildew type stink, room felt damp, the carpet looked like it needed a vacuum, and room tired, no toilet paper, no hand soap. Put heater on and electric blankets on and damp subsised, stink did not. Beds were clean and comfy and shower while old was good.
Not visiting again and i wouldnt recommend room 6 to anyone.

The biggest concern I had was that the cigarette smell in the room was horrendous and even though the front desk people tried to held it was still there. Very disappointing because we moved to a different motel as my stay in New Plymouth was extended and I paid as much for their room which was of a much higher quality as I did at this motel.

Grounds, driveways & steps need attention.
A 'grabrail' in shower would be helpful addition for older clients.

It felt like it had been used as social housing. Holes in walls, sofa with fabric peeling off it, curtains half hung. However, appeared pretty clean, with comfortable enough beds and pretty spacious (we had one bedroom unit). Good shower and good access to room.
