Beautifully tranquil and peaceful. The spa was one of the best I’ve been to in Australia, and all of the restaurants offered exquisite food and wine options. The setting is relaxed and visually stunning.

I think this is one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed at. Everything was perfect, not even 1 random hair. It was lovely. Once we were on our room it was like no one else was around and we owned the place. The spa bath was beautiful to relax in. The only thing that I didn’t like was the opaque doors for the toilet and shower. As well as the gap above the door to let any sounds or smells to roam the bedroom. This isn’t a place to take the kids (not that you can’t) it’s a place to enjoy as a romantic getaway.

Stayed in one of the Villa blocks. 80’s feel, room ok, spacious, but the lounge furniture was old and sacked out. Balconies spoiled by bird and duck poop. Even the restaurant chairs were old and sacked out. Needs a broom through it.

After having stayed at Chateau Elan a few years back and having a great experience, we decided to revisit, but increase the duration of our stay. From the moment we checked in, we were greeted by welcoming staff, and comforted by a balcony room that was made daily, and overlooked part of their golf course. With nearby restaurants literally a short walk away, it made for some laid back nights. Their onsite Day Spa is well worth planning ahead and making a reservation in advance!

Chateau Elan is a good spot to stay in the Hunter. The sprawling grounds and spacious rooms are comfortable, although on site dining is somewhat limited with ageing menus. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves and would visit again -- though would mention in room amenities like the fireplace (not working) and TV (slow/broken casting feature) may indicate the rooms need more thorough servicing.

The spa was the best event as well as the room's outdoor covered area.
Having a bath in the middle of the room was disappointing, as well as no handles to grip onto. the bottom of bath very slippery and dangerous.
On arrival we had room service of 2 wagyu burgers. They were very nice except they gave both my wife and I a very bad case of food poisoning. We wasted a full day of our 3 nights stay not being able to leave our room's toilet.

The reception 2 did not have my room ready even though I had a spa appointment what was I going to do leave my partner in the car so I did not get to attend my appointment which was over $400 dollars . The reception kept saying it was still dirty status and the room was still dirty once I checked in. Very unpleasant

There is a huge gulf in quality from the food and drink here. To what a true 4star hotel should be.
The TV's in the place are either running off low res Foxtel or are 10yr old TV's.
The welcome drink is a crappy cheap cocktail. (a tap beer or house wine would be better)
No onto the biggest let down. The breakfast... we actually went elsewhere for breaky on the 2nd morning.
Put out some: Cheese, Avo, cured meats, capsicum, onions.
The cheap items that lets this place down:
No decent hotel coffee machine, tinned fruit, no veggie snacks in the golf shop (egg is not a veggie option - 1 of us is veggie)

This place is very comfortable, huge bathroom, huge room, and service is excellent - very polite and helpful. If you love golf or quietness this is for you. However, if you're looking for true nature experience go elsewhere, this is a golf course so it's a man-made environment.
