Very nice place to stay. This is a Guesthouse so you have shared bathroom and showers. The main bathroom has heated floors, so nice on a cold day. The rooms do have a sink in them. The hosts are very nice and accommodating. They sell bag lunches and I saw something about a dinner. Continental breakfast is included.

If you want a place to sleep while visiting Iceland this is good enough. The house from the outside looks a bit run down but is clean and good inside. Rooms are very simple with just beds and a hanger. Although clean and they serve a nice breakfast each morning. There is a shared bathroom on each floor. So If you want to visit Iceland without paying huge amount of money on a hotel you wont spend time in this is perfect. A clean bed to sleep in the nights and a breakfast to start the day. The guesthouse has a parking just outside which is a plus if you come by car. There is a 15 min walk to downtown Reykjavik.

A pleasant couple to stay with the room was adequate didn’t have anything spectacular but had what I needed. I stayed here by myself while training at a nearby MMA gym on a week long training camp and I was able to get enough rest to be able to complete that comfortably.

Great breakfast . Room could do with some desk or shelf to put stuff , hangers for the towel

Don't drink the water in your bedroom. There was a glass on the counter so I assumed it was safe drinking water. I ended up getting arsenic poisoning due to the amount of Sulphur in the water. Lots of blood to paint a picture.

It was a close walk to the center of the city, host was very good about giving instructions on how to get to town. We had a shared bathroom, there was also an extra shower so if someone was using the toilet you could still shower. The room had a sink so you could wash your face and brush your teeth. Blackout curtains were OK, still let a lot of light in which can be an issue during the summer.Breakfast was fantastic!!

Positive surprise for one night sleep in Reykjavík. Walk to city center isn't too long. Rooms were clean and beds were big and comfortable. Breakfast was much better than I expected and service was nice. I can recommend this place!

I was stuck in Iceland for a layover and booked a room here. It was 6 degrees and raining heavily, while I was dressed for California. I was soaked to the bone at the door, but the host didn't want to let me in, because it was not check-in time yet. So there I am wandering all over Reykjavik waiting for 3pm. I caught a horrible cold and a bad fever a few days later. I can't say that the host is unfriendly. He just really doesn't give a crap about the well being of his guests.

Great experience. Had a late check in. They were very accommodating. If back in Iceland it will be the place I stay. Great service and welcoming people running it.

We stayed 8 nights here. The owners were very nice. We met guests from Russia, U.S., Christmas Island, Scotland and England. The breakfast was filling and the location was great. Many tour companies pick up and drop off directly from this guesthouse. Situated very close to the Perlan museum, the famous church/tower and walking distance to the shops, sights and restaurants of Reykjavik. We even saw the Northern lights from the guesthouse parking lot while waiting for our tour bus! We would stay again. The only negative was the condition of shower curtain in the bathroom.

A little bit difficult to get to, but pretty close to the primary tourist sites (museums, churches, shopping district) once you figure it out. Theres no sense to the layout of Reykjavik, and no direct routes to anything.

I stay this hotel on 1/4 they charge me when I arrival the hotel but in fact they already charge on the website in couple hours ago! I told them on 1/12 when I stay this hotel again they say I have to send e-mail to Alba I send mail on 1/12 and 1/20 two weeks has passed!! I check my credit card bank still no money return!

Small room, clean, good location to walk into town/be picked up for tours. Very good value for money compared to other hotels. excellent breakfasts and kind hosts (with cute (and quiet and polite) grandchildren!!) thanks Alba guesthouse.

The Alba Guesthouse is a good value. Friendly hosts. Our room was clean and comfortable with dark curtains for a good "night" sleep at the height of summer. Be sure to enjoy their breakfast and coffee. If you plan to day-trip, you may want to arrange for Alba's bag lunches. They gave us two sandwiches, a fruit and a fruit drink for 1100 kroner- a good value when you consider the food prices at tour stops. The Alba Guesthouse is a short walk from many local sites, and is also a pickup site for the Reykjavik Excursion and Grey Line tour buses - perfect for my active family. If we visit Reykjavik again, we would stay at Alba Guesthouse.
