First time to Iceland. We could not have been more pleased with our stay. Excellent location and accommodations. This time of year it is mostly dark, but I could see this being excellent in Summer as the blackout shades were excellent as well. Will be back for an summer trip

Reykjavik Residence Hotel was so clean, comfortable, and gracious. It was everything we were looking for! We were pleasantly surprised by the breakfast brought each morning and by the water pressure in the rain shower.

Didn’t have good directions or pictures of the main office, lost when we first got there. Luckily we didn’t need elevator but didn’t seem to be an option in our house/hotel. Shower was terrible, large bathtub, hand held sat at edge of tub so had to hold while showering. Wish at check in he would have explained how things worked in Iceland like heat and windows for ac.

We had a very ice stay in an apartment with a small kitchen. We liked the setup of having a breakfast included and got this delivered to the room.
The room was very nice, clean ans we liked the style of the decoration.

Great little place in downtown Reykjavik! Walkable to many places downtown. A few renovations (painting) happening while we were staying there, but the painters did not come early or stay late (were not bothersome). Would recommend!

Extremely spacious and comprehensive, even had washer dryer with powdered detergent. We used the app check-in because the reception is not in the same building but eventually got cards as the phone to unlock as the phone is a little slow (also in case of dead battery). Only not-ideal thing was our top apartment was on the third floor with a narrow, steep and almost circular staircase, no elevator - needed to hold the larger suitcases at chest height to make the turns.
Having the kitchen and some basics included (milk, cornflakes) was very convenient for our departure.
I would stay again but on a lower floor.

We had an incredible time staying here. The location couldn’t be more perfect to explore the city and enjoy nightlife! The breakfast basket really came in handy for our early morning tours.

Contactless check in was a little confusing at first but we figured it out. The room was great and well-equipped. The shower was amazing and equipped with L'Occitane products. However the the sofa bed was incredibly uncomfortable and back breaking, would not have been able sleep on it for longer than 1 night.

Reykjavík Residence Hotel while a bit pricey was worth it!
Close to just about everything you want to see in Reykjavík within walking distance.
Was also great after long day trips to come back and have space to just decompress and relax. Staff was available and great when needed, very responsive.
I’d certainly stay here again. The one thing you want is a place you feel comfortable with.

I forgot to ask about the vip food and drink credit . The residence we stayed at was actually in a different building than the one we checked in at .
I booked a studio and we actually stayed in a one bedroom upgrade .
The place was lovely , safe and comfortable. We had a great balcony .
The kitchen was great and there was great choices of coffee and hot cocoa. We were tired from traveling so it was great to shower , sit in our robes and drink coffee. The next street up was tons of food and shopping .
The residence is centrally located to sightseeing .

Lovely apartments and they provided delicious breakfasts and fresh bread daily! We had a volcano eruption during our stay and got quick reassurance that we were safe. Would definitely recommend!

Be aware this hotel is a collection of small downtown buildings with low staff overhead. The reception is in another building blocks away. Payment, check-in, and building/room key are automated using an app you have to download to your smartphone. There is no parking, no on-site staff, and no one to help with luggage. Despite the listing of an elevator as an amenity, there was no elevator in our building. Other features included poor sound insulation between rooms and a bathtub/shower a man of ordinary height can’t stand up in and a short person has difficulty getting into and out of.
Our room did have a very compact kitchenette wall with small appliances, and L’Occitaine bath items. The extra cost breakfast included excellent fresh bread delivered to the door and a variety of other items placed in the refrigerator the previous day. Fruit was an apple.
The description should more accurately convey the nature of this property and the limited staffing and assistance available. It should not claim amenities like an elevator if most of the buildings don’t have elevators.

The only thing that stopped me from saying it was excellent was the sofa bed - it was past its best and even two children sleeping in it was a squash

We have loved our stay. This is a beautiful property and located right in the middle of town. Some street noise but still very lovely and quiet at night. We were pleasantly surprised by how comfortable, spacious and charming it was. Definitely recommend. Love the coffee, tea, milk, and juice in the refrigerator. Definitely a wonderful touch.

The rooms and hotel were amazing. The only issue was the checkin. We decided to book an extra day of lodging so we had somewhere to go and rest when we arrived at 9am,,,after traveling all night. Upon our arrival a very argumentative young lady at the checkin desk told us we could check in because there was only an hour until we had to check out. We informed them that we booked the room for 4 nights. As it turns out, they had us down for 2 separate bookings, not 4 continuous nights. We understood the confusion and explained we had just traveled 18hr to get there. When we asked if there was anything we could do to rest or set our bags down, we were very told "no".....and it was our fault for not calling them weeks in advance to make sure the 2 bookings back to back under the same name would be linked together. The young woman at the counter continued to argue with us and blame us for the issue and then told us we couldn't even go to the room we had paid for.....because they "would have to clean it". After 40 mins of arguing with staff, they finally let us into a room for 1hr to rest before we were kicked out and then moved to another room hrs later.

The room itself was very nice but my room was on the ground floor right beside the entrance to a bar. People sat outside my window drinking and talking loudly until late into the night. I didn’t feel safe and was not able to use my outdoor space.

I couldn't sleep because of the sound of footsteps upstairs from 5am and the knock on the door at 10:30pm while I was showering because of the water dripping from downstairs. I don't want to come here again.

Wonderful stay and terrific customer service. Also, excellent ‘lobby’ with a shower and clean bathrooms if you need to check out early and have your flight later. Icelandic hot bath right around the corner and Cesar was super helpful. Thanks for creative apartments, the fresh sourdough, and happy and terrific customer service. The location was excellent. Super close to the harbour, rainbow street, bus stops, restaurants. I was worried about not getting a physical room key but the phone app worked well.

I didn’t understand this was several buildings separate from the reception. I would probably not have booked it as we have several people in our group of 8 with mobility issues. However, that would have been a mistake. The building was a short walk down the street and the staff helped the ones with issues and brought their luggage for them. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming. They were wonderful. The apartment was spacious and clean. Had cereal and milk for my daughter in the morning. One street away from the Main Street for shopping and dining. We were all sad to only have one night there. I would highly recommend and I would stay there again if I ever get back to Reykjavík.

This was a wonderful base of operations for my family of 4 — spacious enough to accommodate two teenagers and yet cozy enough to bring us together as we began our Iceland adventure. I loved being within walking distance of all the shopping and excellent dining options. We were very comfortable here and recommend it highly! We hope to be back soon!
