Beautifully restored and maintained Inn & Pub with incredibly helpful and attentive Staff who made us feel right at home and so very welcome in the picturesque Village of Plush. The wonderful comfort and atmosphere of the Inn was matched by the superb Food & Wine too. Thank you for making our stay so lovely in every way!

All good! Friendly and helpful team run a great pub and a very comfortable hotel. Beautiful part of Dorset, Plush is a quiet hideaway hamlet, the Brace of Pheasants is an ancient thatched inn doing everything well. Tasty supper, huge range of beers and breakfast to die for. Fantastic stay.

We had an excellent stay in this lovely old but very comfortable Inn. Hospitality and friendliness could not be faulted. Real ale and a hearty breakfast - what more could you ask for!

Off the beaten track, which was part of its charm. Lovely evening meal. Great breakfast. Friendly staff. Had a relaxing break with family.

Amazing location. Great accommodation. Food was superb too

The service was good. Food was good, with staff coping well with my wife's food allergies. However the accommodation is highly unsuitable for anyone with even slightly limited mobility. The narrow staircase, the cramped room, the changing levels in the en suite, the uneven floor, the low ceilings made for an uncomfortable experience, such that we did not stay for the second night we had booked (but were still charged). The full view of the toilet available to any passing hikers is also disconcerting.

From the welcome to the room and the breakfast. Everything was exceptional. Very impressed with the quality comfort and cleanliness of our room. The bed, the linen and the pillows. Extremely comfortable and a high standard. Would definitely stay again and would highly recommend. Hard to find, but well worth persevering!! Thank you

This was an absolute gem! Beautiful rooms, fabulously delicious food, best gins & beer. The thatched pub was so quaint & it really was delightful. The service was second to none with really friendly staff. Our only regret? We only booked for one night 😔.

Lovely traditional country pub with a great food offer, stayed in a room in the main building which was cosy, welcoming and very warm which was needed on our arrival day. Bed was very comfortable and location of the pub meant a peaceful nights sleep. Tasty breakfast set us up for the day ahead, will definitely return.

My son found this hotel, but forwarded the link to me to book and pay for our two rooms as he was busy in his office in London.
My son later sent me a message saying that he was having to bring his dog with him, but it was ok as he had contacted both The Brace of Pheasant and also the sailing company we were due to sail with the next day re his dog.
I arrived first coming from a different direction to that of my son. However, I was an hour later than I had expected due to a road being closed on route, plus, having difficulties finding this accommodation.
The gentleman who showed me to the rooms I had booked became annoyed with me when I said that I was not the one with the dog !
He said they didn’t have dogs in the rooms there, I explained that my son had informed me, after I had booked, that he had phoned and been told this was ok, and that was unhappy with his manner towards me over this, and that he would have to speak to my son when he arrived.
He later told my son the dog would have to sleep in the car overnight, my son told him fine, but nobody in the area would get any sleep as the dog would bark all night, the dog did then sleep in his room with him without any problems. I later found out this place does have one room only where a dog can sleep, but that this was already booked prior to our visit. A pretty old pub, not in my opinion very good for anybody with movement difficulties, also is a very remote location, that said, it’s peaceful.

Great place. There arent many places like the ol english cottages where you can experience such high quality accomodaion. Breakfast could have more variety/amount

Expedia completely failed to communicate the need for the twin room as booked through them. Only a double available, decided not to stay. Will not use Expedia to book accommodation again. Hotel staff helpful, Expedia useless

food and service was great, location really rural as we wanted. no bath or shower towels and the room was host to 5 spiders and lots of old cobwebs.
the bed was spacious, comfortable and we slept well. there was a choice of two ales on tap, both were pleasing.
overall the room was very pleasant and could do with some minor up keep where nails have popped the plasterboard, grouting/silicone is below par.
thats just the nit picking. sink and bath were huge, great water pressure, coffee and tea as usual, lovely biscuits (walnut crunch and lemon with stem ginger) , body wash and lotion were new to us and very pleasing to use.
we would go back again

Lovely place - huge room and bed. Lovely traditional features with a modern twist. Food and service was really good. The host Matt was lovely. I think we were a bit unlucky - the fire alarm went off before midnight and we all went outside to wait for it to be sorted. This took some time - and then went off again. It interrupted our sleep considerably as it went on for about 20 minutes.
Also, we discovered after leaving that we were charged twice for our desserts. To be fair, we agreed we would go again some time and Matt could deduct what we overpaid. It's a great place - the shine was taken off for us, but we want to give it a second go.

This is a great little pub deep in the Dorset countyside. It makes for a great stay. The rooms- at least those in the main building - are packed with character. This is very much a pub with rooms rather than a hotel. It is clean and friendly.
