The Pearl Hotel is actually currently closed (August 21). So on arrival you have to walk to a very close hotel which is owned by the same company called the Esperia City Hotel. This is apparently an upgrade as its a 3* as opposed to 2*. The facitilites are adequate, good strong AC and an excellent buffet breakfast. However the room absolute stunk of sewage and there are 2 plug sockets in the entire room which are already in use (for the world's oldest mini fridge and TV). If it hadn't been for the awful smell I would have given this a higher mark. However, I really think it's a little immoral to be selling rooms on hotels.com for a hotel that is shut and appears to be nowhere near close to be ready for reopening.

Ideal for 1 or 2 nights in Rhodes before catching a boat out to the smaller Dodecanese islands . Lovely breakfast, friendly service.

So welcoming place, and the stuff are amazing. Very good food also, location is perfect, so the best place to be!

Great location. Within walking distance to old town and beaches. Fabulous breakfast each morning. Staff very friendly. We have been here before and highly recommend if in Rhodes. Very reasonably priced.

The area is rammed full of 2x hotels,cheap restaurants and has been designed for guests on a very limited budget who basically want burger and chips and pints of lager. Think of Blackpool on a bad day and you won't be far off. It all looks thrown together in the 1970's and just left gradually to rot. The nearer you get to Rhodes old town the better the area becomes. Second time at The Pearl, its basic but great value for money - aircon and good wifi included. Lovely people - bar staff especially are great and really friendly. Add in a fab location and its perfect for a no frills week in the sun. Will be back...

Price quality a good hotel. Sidewalks need revision all over Rhodes!

Never felt so welkome in a hotel before,thanks to the staff and in the way that staff taking care of the hotel!

Great little hotel, deserving of more stars. OK, rooms are a little cramped but they have everything you need, including very good free wifi (not always the case with even four star hotels).Staff friendly and yes the towel sculptures by the cleaners are fab! Bar staff superb. All in all, great value!

Very good location very friendly staff clean and nice hotel

This is a well-located hotel in the city center. Just a five-minute walk from Ellie beach, 10 minute-walk from the old town. There is a bar/pub under the hotel which plays very good music. They have happy hour from 7 to 9pm. Staff is very friendly. Rooms are clean but small little bit. Good value for the price.

The Expedia should stop selling the service for the bus pick up from airport, as the road in front hotel is narrow, the bus can not park, they drop you somewhere close by, and you help yourself to find the hotel...took us 30min to walk to hotel, as we get lost... Call a taxi it is much better.

I probably got the very worse room at the hotel, but I guess that's what you get when you arrive late in the wee hours. Considering that, it wasn't the worse experience after all. The room was just a few steps to the elevator and the lobby/bar. So of course pretty early in the morning the action started and I woke up right away with loud voices coming from the tiled hallways in to my also tiled room. I immediately opened my computer and set a white noise to buffer the overwhelming noises. I fell sleep immediately after and never heard a thing since.All bathrooms at hotels I stayed in Greece were awful, with terrible plumbing and the infamous tiny shower boxes with only a curtain a foot high from the ground so water is all over the place. This hotel was a very nice improvement from the others as the toilette flushed right and had proper design and the shower box was probably twice as big as the others I had used and the curtain actually went all the way bellow the box edge. However because of an improper design water would still run through on side of it, Oh well.... But the worse silliness was this shelf piece to hold shower products they placed onto the wall on the narrowest side of the box making you hit it every time you moved or especially raised your arms. So bigger box but not exactly smarter!But considering you're in Greece I found the stay pretty pleasant and the lobyy of the hotel though with mostly an older crowd, a pretty cool and lively place to hang out.
