Great efficiency from the staff. Attentive at all times

Room was a good size, clean and nicely decorated. Only thing was, we were in the basement, so the view was a solid brick wall about 1m away from the window. There were a few niggles. We didn't get much sleep due to the noise from the heating and other plumbing noises from the rooms above us. There was no heated towel rail and no shaving mirror in the bathroom, and the shower temperature needs looking at as even the coolest setting was really hot.

Really good stay , the staff are all excellent. They were happy to help all the time . Breakfast choice was outstanding. Something for everyone . Only issues I have is paying for parking and there was no blackout blind , so you felt the office block next door could see in at night if you had the light on .

Genuinely so impressed with this hotel. A few minutes walk from the train station, in a great location for shops and cafes. The staff were lovely and helpful, rooms spacious, beds comfortable and very clean. Amenities were great. We were on the 3rd floor, very quiet for a Saturday night. We had some delicious mulled wine after a full day/night out which topped our evening off nicely. I was pleasantly surprised by breakfast, so much choice, my friend had the full English which she said was perfect, as a vegetarian I chose crumpets, greek yogurt with granola and fruit and some croissants, I could have had pancakes or waffles too, so much good quality choice. Checkout was flawless, we left our bags and went for another shop before heading to the trainstation. All round great stay.

The hotel is clean with friendly staff. The breakfast is wonderful. The location is great with a walking distance to old the city wall and main attractions. But the hotel is pricey.

We had a drink at the bar and were served flat lager when asked to make it more lively we were given a grumpy look from the older bar lady no chat very rude!! The bed was horrendous every time you moved the springs were so noisy. There was no fresh air in the room and the air con did not help we did not sleep well at all. We complained at reception his name was Thurston he apologised but it seemed rehearsed like it was a normal day for him. This was a 60th birthday present from my husband we were both disappointed. The breakfast was one of the best we’ve had though

We enjoyed our stay. We picked it for the location, as we wanted to be close to the train station, and that worked out well; it’s only a short walk into the central area of town and is itself within the old city walls. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff members were friendly. We’d recommend!

This is an excellent hotel to stay in when visiting York. Location is great, staff were friendly and accommodating, room was excellent. Even got a cooked breakfast! The only slight downside would be that the discount on the cost of parking wasn’t very much. Would stay there again no problem if we return to York and recommend to friends and family.

Smooth check-in process, polite and friendly staff. The room was relatively small once the sofa bed had extended out into a small double.
Our daughter found a sock belonging to a previous guest in the folding mechanism of the bed itself.
Sadly, the mattresses were awful on both the main double and the sofa bed resulting in a really poor nights sleep all round.
Breakfast was decent, albeit extremely busy due to a lack of dining tables for the hotel size.

It was clean tidy and comfortable. I would say that the sevice could be improved a bit better - the food was ok for me but my husband struggled to find something to eat and what he had was not up to standard evening meal. Breakfast was fine for us and we enjoyed it. When we had the evening meal as we did not wish to go out - we did have to wait a while especially the second night and we had to go to the counter to chase it up. Its a shame. Noone came to check if we were enjoying our food.

A good hotel. Spacious room, clean, comfy bed if a tad hard which suits us and well situated to walk to all city centre attraction. Breakfast was busy but a good choice with everything you would expect and plentiful. Very good value for money. We would stay there again and would recommend.

Weeks away for myself and my wife, booked a king bedroom top floor, the room was clean Morden and very spacious, the bed very comfortable, shower traffic, room equipped with hair dryer, iron and ironing board, kettle. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a great variety and plentiful. Bar prices less than some of the bars in town centre. Good location pleasant 5-10 minute walk to town center or the railway station.

3 day mid week stay. Modern hotel in central position. 5 minutes walk to railway station and 5 minutes walk into the centre of town. Room was quiet and comfortable with tea and coffee facilities and large flat screen tv. Breakfast was fine which was a buffet with plenty of choice which went on to 10 am. Only criticism was no freshly cooked eggs only microwaved scrambled eggs which were a bit dry and tasteless. However otherwise everything else was fine and would consider staying there again.
