Wonderful property, very nice staff, close walk to town and beach. Saw lots of wildlife in the lovely garden. Easy walk to town and national park.

The property is beautiful, quiet, close to the beach and a short walk from town. Laurent, at reception, was extremely helpful regarding recommendations for activities and transportation. Sara, also at reception, was very helpful for setting up tours. The restaurant’s snapper in coconut sauce was delicious.

The cottages were perfect, great bathrooms, air conditioning, fans, comfortable beds but with awful pillows. The grounds were also perfect and beautiful with two small swimming pools. What needs improvement is their customer service. They made a mistake with the number of beds in our room. Instead of comping us or apologizing, they had us wait and pay an extra fee for the additional bed. We were never given complimentary drinks as per their cards in the room, nor were we given two for one drinks during happy hour. I asked on two occasions before booking if the restaurant provides vegan breakfast and if they have vegan choices for dinner. The breakfast was by far the worst breakfast we had in Costa Rica. I was offered dry stale bread with thin slices of avocado and two slices of tomato. No rice and beans like all the other hotels. The fruit was delicious. We had dinner once there on our first night and the bean burger was soft and not good so we decided not to eat there again. If visiting this area again, I would not stay here and probably stay in the Punta Uva area with better beaches, restaurants, more hotels to choose from and just more to do overall. This hotel has a lot going for it but the customer service and subpar food has made us think twice. Coffee only available after 7am even though tours start early in Costa Rica and you’re up at 4:30 or 5, and there is no coffee, and the breakfast we were given to go had no vegan options.

Amazing little hotel across the street from the beach. Fantastic restaurant, coffee shop/deli right on the beach as well. Sloths in the trees, birds, super nice for such a small and remote town.

Receptionist gave us a garden tour introducing us to many CR plants and birds and iguana, sloths hiding. Made to feel very welcome. Ate at the restaurant— server very good and food excellent. Would recommend.

I absolutely loved this hotel. Spent my birthday here. Staff are fantastic, grounds are beautiful, breakfasts are great. Excellent location - a short walk to restaurants and the national park. It’s spotlessly clean as well and has aircon. It even has its own resident wild sloth in the gardens as well as lizards and frogs.
There is nothing not to like, really enjoyed it 10/10

We loved our stay at Hotel El Encanto. The pool was the perfect temperature and never too crowded. The restaurant onsite had great food and drinks. We got a two bedroom room and it was spacious and comfortable. During our stay we saw multiple frogs and a toucan; it was a great experience! And the town of Cahuita had so many great restaurants and little shops, but wasn't super crowded our touristy - we loved it!

Charming and well-appointed. A classy little boutique hotel in the truest sense of the word. A true oasis in this part of Costa Rica.

Across the road from little local beaches, the hotel and our cabana felt like an oasis to return to after snorkeling in the national park or hiking. The staff were very helpful and we enjoyed our stay. We saw sloths and monkeys right on the property.

Perfect stay: the property is beautiful (amazing garden, with many frogs and birds), nice pool (warm, but not too warm!), the beach is walking distance, so is the heart of the city with shops and restaurants.
Suggestion: something extra with the eggs at breakfast ? After nice fruits and toasts (with delicious jam!), we got some fried eggs later alone on a plate is a bit odd. Maybe bringing them at the beginning / together with everything else would have helped.
Service was pleasant: very nice people !
The Cahuita park is close by and is a gem.
We stayed two nights in a superior room with a king bed: these are in isolated bungalow, very privy and comfy.

This property is so beautiful! The quietness...the ambience, the food, the wildlife, everything was beautifully amazing. The staff was so kind and accommodating. Playa Negra is just a couple minute walk down the street. Where you can enjoy a local beer, music or some good food.

El Encanto has charm but the lack of air conditioning on hot nights is a big minus.

Nice, quiet place to stay in Cahuita. Rooms were very well kept. Local beaches are a short walk and not over crowded. Pool area is very pretty, especially at night.

El Encanto was everything we’d hoped it would be: a beautiful, quiet setting close to town; a room that was clean, comfortable well appointed; a friendly and helpful staff, and delicious meals. We would definitely stay there again. Wonderful!

My wife and I spent the first part of our honeymoon at El Encanto and simply stated, it was paradise. The grounds and room were breathtaking. There are two lovely pools and loads of wildlife could be seen throughout the grounds on any given day (or night). There was no fridge in the room, but we were able to access the fridges in reception at any time and filtered water is also available there 24 hours per day, along with coffee and tea. Staff were fantastic, especially Eden who really helped any way she could (including calling us a taxi once we finally got into the bus terminal from San Jose in the dark and pouring rain and cutting me some fresh aloe leaves for my raging sunburn). The room had a powerful, yet quiet A/C unit and towels provided were fresh and fluffy. Breakfasts were good, if a bit repetitive. Still, one absolutely cannot go wrong with fresh fruit when in Costa Rica. They were also kind enough to treat us to a free round of cocktails in recognition of our honeymoon. El Encanto is in a great location for Cahuita, and just a short walk away from all the local restaurants and the wonderful Cahuita National Park. Playa Negra is also just across the road. I'd gladly go back to Hotel El Encanto should we ever venture to that region of Costa Rica again.

The grounds are beautiful and the room was beautiful. The woman that checked us in was very nice too.
The problem started when we came back from our time walking around.
The couple above us were walking around their room until 10 pm and sounded like a herd of buffalo. When we could no longer stand it, we went and asked the young woman watching the desk if she could help us out as we had a 6:00am departure the next morning. She clearly had NO customer service sense and very snotty answered, “what would you have me do? Tell them to not walk?” She then proceeded to tell us that 3 other guests had complained and the resort was waiting for supplies from Spain(???) to fix the room.
HOW RIDICULOUS.
Even expressing some sympathy would have gone a long way.
Then, the same two women who stayed above us took our packed breakfast that was prepared by the resort for us to take as we could not stay for the included breakfast in our booking. Apparently the resort did not bother to put a label on our breakfast to go.

Beautiful hotel and wonderful staff. However, some wash cloths in the bathroom would be nice. Hand towels are really too big to use for this purpose.

Very welcoming staff! Savanna is a great host and Juanita and Nacho so helpful and kind. They will help you sort out tours, transportation etc, even bring you fried chicken from Limon! The property is full of birds and animals. A family of sloths come for a day! They have a friendly dog, Balloo, and a local parrot who chats a lot. The premises very well kept and the swimming pools a blessing when you come back from daily tours. Town is just 5’ walks. We are defenetly going back! Cahuita is a jewel. Highly recommend!

Fantastic place. Like a little oasis. I would highly recommend it. The only downside is that it is in a real town, so there is some poverty and bad conditions. Its not an area built for tourism, which is both good and bad.

Beautiful hotel within walking distance to the beach! Staff was very attentive and made special provisions for us to have breakfast delivered to our room the night before because we had an early departure at 5:30am! We will stay here again on our next visit to Costa Rica!

We could not be happier with our stay here!! Alex (manager) was a excellent host! This is a beautiful hotel across the street from the beaching a safe enclosed tropical garden. The pool and jacuzzi are perfect additions to this relaxing environment. I highly recommend this place! We are already making plans to go again next year!

Loved this hotel! Awesome owner who went out of his way to assist locating our bags, lost in San Jose. Peaceful quiet grounds, yet close to everything. Very relaxing. Should've stayed more than one night!
