This was a nice place, close to town. We were early and the hosts allowed us to park the car while we had lunch and explored the city until we could check in. The room was nicely equipped with a stocked kitchenette and comfy bed. We would definitely stay here again!

Great location. Walked to downtown and all of our meals. Place was clean and safe.

Barry and Donna were excellent hosts. They gave plenty of great advice on places to see and eating options. The place is located in the centre of Dunedin so you can walk to most things. The place is spotless and has just been renovated. I would recommend this place to anyone to stay. Has laundry facilities also.

Fantastic accommodation in fabulous Dunedin In summary, it’s beautiful lodgings in a really central and buzzy area. Spotlessly clean with great facilities. Most of all Barry and Donna were fantastic hosts who pointed us in all the right directions for food and activities. An absolute gem!

Very well equipped room, welcoming host..only down side was view onto scaffolding next door.. Netflix was a welcome addition and convenient for town.

Super stay. Barry and Donna were really friendly and helpful. The apartment was spacious and immaculate, had everything we needed. Loved the Pina Colada toiletries.

The hotel rooms were simple but very nice. The proprietors were extremely friendly and treated us like family.

Owners and operators were wonderful people, sharing their life story. Clean and convenient motel. Surprisingly spacious. Great stay.

Barry was a nice host but the facilities are a bit dated and with such a large room (family room - one king, two twins) it was surprising to see such a small bathroom. The internet Wi-Fi just couldn’t be used and we resorted to cell service.

Great one bedroom apartment, clean spacious and great range of TV channels including Netflix. On the downside the sofa was rather uncomfortable, no chairs for the balcony and the kitchenette had insufficient large pans to cook for two. Also there is a new building being built next door (so zero view from balcony), not their fault but at least mentioning it when they showed us to our room would have been helpful together with the 8am start time for the builders. (However outside those times the place was very quiet.)

Room is spacious, with kitchen facilities, warm & cosy, comfortable & clean, a really home feel. Location is right along George St, the Main Street that goes direct to the Octagon. 24 hrs convenience shop right opposite, so you can buy anything for your meals. The staff there Barry & Donna are very helpful & caring, I’ll definitely recommend this Hotel to everyone.

Good all around

This trip I am on the road 5 weeks and at week 4. We have stayed in many places and this stay is one we will remember for the right reasons. Shame the TV wouldn't connect for us but that is technology. We will try to stay at Amross again next trip in 2024. Thank you

Barry an excellent host. Lodging is actually an efficiency with fridge, kettle, toaster, stove and utensils. Close to university and Main Street with stores, etc.

Stayed one night, very clean, got everything you need, friendly service and close to the city centre. No complaints and I would stay there again.
