Located in a nice, quiet area. Very friendly, welcoming staff. Rooms very clean and comfortable. A/C unit worked great during our extremely hot summer stay. The breakfast was wonderful - many options and everything was fresh and delicious. Very charming place to stay. We look forward to staying here again!

Kirkwood Inn is off the beaten path, and affordable. Hosted in a quaint separate building surrounded by gardens, a delicious breakfast is served. The staff is kind and helpful.

We pulled up and realized it was a motel, we didn't have much hope that it was going to be a very nice stay. Boy were we wrong! Yes it's a motel but I've never been in such a meticulously clean place, you register on a card just like an old school model from years ago. The service was outstanding, the ladies running it were so so sweet and accommodating and made sure I knew that they're available all night if we needed anything at all. They also let us know where we could find drinks and snacks. The pool was clean and fun, the entire atmosphere was charming, quiet and relaxing. Breakfast (they had everything!!) was in a building just steps behind the motel, you reached it by a flower lined walk. They also had a peaceful seating area and a fire pit for visiting with friends. We couldn't have asked for anything more and will definitely be staying here every time we go to Kings Island.

Great location within 10 minutes of Kings Island and right by an alternate route to the park to avoid some of the traffic. Amazing breakfast with lots of options in a separate old house with tons of charm just across the parking lot. Lovely gardens and patio seating on the property. A great breakup from the typical hotel chain. Warm comforter on the bed. Quiet and clean room. The outdoor pool was not heated but the kids were happy it went to 10 foot depth. We enjoyed chatting with the owner at the front desk and petting her sweet dog. It was a lovely stay!

Amazing breakfast and great service.

The hotel is very clean. The staff is very attentive, breakfast was varied and good. The hotel location was good for visiting Kingdom Island and halfway between Cincinnati and Dayton, good to visit sites at both cities.

What a cute and whimsical place! 10/10 would recommend. The only negative thing for me, is the bed - ours was a bit hard - I still slept okay, but the beds are not cushy. You get breakfast which is served in a house on grounds, you can actually see the woman in the kitchen cooking away while you get to eat. Great breakfast selection, plenty of choices and filling food! This is one of the last hotel to probably still use ACTUAL hotel KEYS versus card operated doors! There is a super cute perrenial garden you can walk into, it’s like a little secret garden back there with flowers and cute statues all in the woods. There are 3 outdoor fountains and plenty of outdoor seating if you want to hang out outside. And there’s an outdoor pool! Charming place, I would definitely stay there again! It has charm and character.

This place needs an update badly. My room smelled like mildew. The besd was lumpy and uncomfortable, the pillows were ancient and should have been changed tens of years ago. The breakfast was good, but the room wasn't worth thr price charged, especially for a 2 star property.

This is an older family run hotel that feels like your grandmother is working the front desk. Things are old school. Keys no cards. Breakfast is amazing. The grounds have walking paths. Again this is an older hotel but everything is clean. We stop by at least once a year for something different than the big chains.

It was so relaxing. The property is not what you expect but what a wonderful surprise. Rooms are very clean. Breakfast felt like in my own home but did not cook it. The employees are very friendly This is a place you can enjoy the outside, we walked the pathway with different types of flowers and little sculptures. It was the perfect place for us. We enjoyed the pool too.

The property needs some maintenance and updating. Food was plentiful but bread products seemed stale… biscuits, breads, coffee cake etc. owner was very kind and addressed our concerns about the room. Kirkwood has been one of our favorites for years.

Very charming, clean. Staff was very pleasant. Really reminded me of traveling with my family when I was younger. Old school motor inn. Although my business schedule didn’t allow time for it, the breakfast is served in an historic home behind the Inn. I look forward to trying it next time I’m in the area.

Very nice stay. Quaint 2 story motel style facility. Very friendly staff. Amazing breakfast in the adjacent farm home. Lovely outdoor space with fireplace, fountain and garden. Off the beaten path, but within 10-15 min of anything needed. 2 night stay. I would recommend. Average price for the area-maybe somewhat higher but a nice difference from chain hotels.

Wonderful hospitality! Very quaint & had everything we needed. The women at the front desk couldn’t be sweeter. Sipping our morning coffee in the garden was lovely. We will absolutely be staying here again in the future!

I just adored the grounds of this place! The gardens and patio, the charm and history of the dining area. Sandy, the owner, is so kind and helpful! We adored talking with her and her daughter and look forward to coming back. We didn’t get a chance to use the pool, but my favorite part was the charm of the grounds and property, the character of the furnishings and space, and the peace and quiet! Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented in the old historic house. I enjoyed taking my coffee in a beautiful cup and saucer out on the patio surrounded by lavender blooms and tree sounds of birds. If you are looking for fancy amenities of a chain hotel this isn’t for you, but if you want an intimate and charming experience with kindness and exceptional service, look no further! One thing I would recommend is updating the beds - ours was a little firm/springy and, though clean, definitely older.

The historic inn where breakfast is served was a treat and a highlight! Hot breakfast items and a great selection of sweets and pastries. We enjoyed relaxing by the fountain and gazebo. Beautiful grounds.

Fabulous stay at Kirkwood Inn. The rooms are super clean, and modern. I was hesitant bc often older places have dated rooms, but this was not the case. Rooms were very clean and updated. One bed seemed a bit soft for me but everyone has different preferences. Staff at check-in were really friendly but not over the top. The best part was probably the breakfast. Kudos to Kirkwood for a fantastic breakfast. Fresh pastries, breads, eggs, sausage, fresh biscuits & gravy. We were wow'd. The only mistake we made was eating breakfast inside instead of outside on the benches by the fountain.

The staff is wonderful, they make you feel like family coming back home!! We have stayed at Kirkwood Inn twice now and we will again!
