The room was clean, very close to shops . Only issue we had bought cookie and scone day before after house cleaning they must have thrown away! 10 dollars out the window

Such a cute apartment!! Lovely place in a lovely area. Very close to restaurants bar and the beach. The apartment was adorable but dated and needs to be refresh: carpet old, most of the windows didn’t close and we were lucky it was not too cold or too hot. Tricky parking!

Great stay! Only concern is that the walls are thin and could hear the people above us stomping around and shutting doors throughout the night.

Place was adorable. Great parking right in front of my room and I just left car there and walked into town. Great market right down the road and easy walk to restaurants and shops. It was quiet and safe and I had an unexpected tiny ocean view.

Property in prime location

The checkin staff was very nice and welcoming. The room is disappointing. It’s very dated. The refrigerator was in the bathroom. The place for hanging jackets and clothes were low so you could only short jackets/clothes. It’s an ADA room so maybe that is the reason for the low hanging clothes rack. But there aren’t many rooms that are designated dog-friendly. The lock on the door was not very secure, no bolts, and no locks other than the one on the door handle. Parking is convenient. And close to main strip of Carmel-by-the-sea (Ocean Ave.) and beach. Unfortunately I would not return.

Great location for restaurants , but only street parking is available, really difficult to find during weekend and the whole area is 2 hrs parking.

The lady made it clear there would be no possibility of an early check in and made a point of it by closing the hotel for an hour right before check in. It was a courtesy she would not afford anyone. It says a lot about their hospitality.

The kid at check in was very lethargic and dissinterested in anything I had to say or had questions about. Website said there was parking available but, as I found out when I checked in, not for my room. Parking on the street was so-so. I had to park about a block away the first night. Room was quite small. Bathroom was tiny. Like hard to manuver in tiny. And I'm a 5'10" 175 guy. But it was clean and quite. So that was good.

The property is unique, clean nd safe. We have the whole cottage to ourselves. Parking is right in front of the cottage. Its like we have a tiny house during our vacation.

The dishes, cookware, and utensils in the kitchen were old, worn, and inadequate.

Cute little spot. Old, no frills, but clean and comfortable. Some rooms have gas fireplaces. Short, easy walk to shops and restaurants. Close to the shops and restaurants of the village. Not all rooms come with parking so check first. They are strict about 11am checkout, even when they aren't booked up.

The outside of the property is quite lovely, having lots of plants and the site is very clean. We arrived late, so didn't check in with the front desk. Instead they left a sealed envelope on the door, telling us where to locate the key to our room. The bathrooms are updated and nice. I would recommend taking out the carpet in the living areas and replace with laminate, wood, or other non-carpet option. I personally feel the carpeting is very hard to keep clean and makes the room look frumpy.It contributes to a musty aroma in the room. The furniture is of an older generation, but in good condition, and goes along with the style of the Inn. On a side note -- it would be nice to be left a note as to where the hair dryer is located. I thought there wasn't one in the room, until my husband found it in the 2nd drawer of the tall dresser.

Nice place, quiet but close to everything

The room was dingy and old. The heat did not work. The staff was out to lunch and required me to wait over an hour for service to check in. I would not recommend this hotel.

The Briarwood Inn has a cozy stay in store for you! I stayed in room 44 on the second floor. I enjoyed the spacious room with a love seat, club chair, and a wall fireplace which made this room warm and cozy. The sheets and pillows on the kingsize bed were comfortable and ensured my good night's sleep. The large bathroom vanity and shower are bright and make me feel right at home. The Briarwood Inn's location just two blocks from Ocean Avenue made it a comfortable choice for getting outside for a morning walk. Thank you!

Nice location, in the heart of the city .

Very clean and decent. Parking a bit of a challenge.

We were very disappointed this time to see the condition of the hotel with plastic tarp on the roof. Very old now need some updating. And the front office so sad to see that it has turned into shelves of books instead of the sweet little breakfast nook at once was.

Neat little cottages, close to everything

Excellente location right in the hearth of Carmel -walkers paradise-, the Dolores Cottage 1, is very well equiped with a full kitchen, chimney, 1 and a half bathrooms, and parking.

The rooms are dated with musty carpet smells. Poor conditions overall. Would not recommend staying at this property.

Love this little apt style hotel room. It was close to good restaurants and the beautiful beach. It is dog-friendly too, which is a plus.

Very difficult finding the room. Anybody can help you find the room neither the free parking situated in another quarter.
