Our stay was a week. The noise level was unacceptable at all hours of the night. The air conditioning worked but didn’t work well. We had mold in our bathroom above the door and around it from the humidity I assume. Room service did a great job cleaning the general area and making the beds, but the mold was always there.

Despite some bad reviews I've seen, I found the resort to be a lot of fun, super big and has a lot of entertainment. There is also food for all tastes and quite a variety, the employees in all areas are very friendly and especially those in the buffet area La Altagracia and the Jerk Chicken that is near the beach is the best I have tried in years.

Let's just say I had booked a Xmas trip to Gambia to stay in the RIU hotel resort there, and I have just cancelled the hotel part of the trip, due to this experience staying here at DR's RIU hotel. - Rooms are outdated and need modernising. - Fridge stopped working, and all the ice defrosted leaving a massive pool of water in room. So had to change rooms. - Fridge made loud noises throughout the day and night. - No hot water to take showers in the evening. So had only cold showers in the evenings and you had to make sure you had a hot shower first thing in the morning, whilst "hot water was in the tank" 😡 - I wholeheartedly like tipping when the service is great, even in an all inclusive resort. BUT, being hassled with every mouthful of food, by their servers in the dinning rooms was a bit much! 😡 - This is a party hotel, and as such it's clientele are "loud, party people" If you want a classy experience in Punta Cana, this hotel is not it. I stayed at the Luxury "Serenade Suites" Hotel, which was so classy. Entertainment might not have been as good as the entertainment provided at the RIU but different strokes for different folks.

In spite of all the bad reviews I've seen, i had a great time

My biggest issue was is there wasn’t really any late night food options other than the disgusting and old hot dogs, hamburgers, and nachos in the sports bar. Very disappointing!!

Room was ok but the keys for the room disconnected everyday, some of the areas need it some maintenance and the personnel wasn’t trained in customer service.

Absolutely worst rooms of all the resorts I’ve stayed at. The resort is so beautiful nice pools nice bars and lobbies . The property is large the food is fair to good. Steakhouse has a really dumb reservation proceses and isn’t that great. My first room was hot. The ac would not go colder than 26c (78f) the blow dryer didn’t work the shower drain was very slow and would over flow into the floor. The shower drain was removed when I got the room. Overall the rooms are in great need of updating the style is not bad the problem is the condition of everything mirrors are peeling shower fixtures are rusted shower grout is full of mold and mildew. Safe didn’t work in the first room also. I was able to get a room replacement but not on the first day I was told to come the next day 130pm for a new room other than having to wait till the next day the it was easy and hassle free it was only annoying having to repack and unpack again. On a positive note about the rooms they are very well sized plenty of room nice size balcony but don’t be fooled by garden view because it’s actually the view of the roof of the shops or restaurants on the ground level. Most things throughout the resort need repair and are not functional. There a few ice machines on every floor and I still have not found one that is functional. The elevators I’ve encountered. Only one out of the 4 I tried are functional. Hand dryers at bathroom throughout the resort face the same issue about 1 out of 5 work.
