Very nice place, fantastic location. Clean and well maintained.

Live music at the Lean To. Otherwise for a price of around $350 it was disappointing, and the room description was misleading. There was no one at the desk, although they did answer text inquiries in a reasonable time frame. Still an actual person would be better, especially since the front desk is said to be open until 5 pm.

One of the better places to stay in Old Forge!

This is a really special place. It is in a beautiful location. Quiet, comfortable and It felt like there were lots of thoughtful details. We would stay here again.

Great location!

Amazing view and very comfortable room

The price was way too high. The toilet in our room had a messed up flush handle. I was very glad that the property is pet friendly, however would suggest the pet area be mowed. The room was very hot, but the a/c was so loud we had to shut it off to sleep. The breakfast was a nice idea, but wasn't replenished so we had coffee and a granola bar. I recently stayed in Lancaster PA and paid a third of the cost and had a real breakfast (eggs, waffles, sausage, muffins, toast, fruit, ceral, juice)included in the price.

A "new" desk clerk was very helpful when I needed to change my departure date. When that change was made, however, my nightly rate increased by $25/night. When I inquired about the change, the manager did not contact me but tasked the "new" employee with trying to explain the reason for the upcharge. The explanation made no sense. Suggest that large boulders in parking lot be illuminated at night.

It’s a rustic place. My husband and I liked it. Our room was over looking the lake. It was beautiful.

The location is sublime. View is beautiful as is the property. Room was very small and could be a bit cleaner. Good first visit to this area. Will probably look at other properties next time.

The lodge is very nice, room was comfortable and clean with door out to the 2nd floor porch overlooking the lake - beautiful! Staff was great, especially at the restaurant! Location great for Old Forge and Raquette Lake. Had a wonderful time!

Beautiful views of 4th Lake in the Adirondack chain with rustic charm.

Check in was different. I was text and emailed my room key. I liked that part as it’s very convenient I had all the information on that before arriving. I did miss the old fashion face to face check to notify me of me what the hotel offers. The room itself was fair. A little outdated. Cleanliness was fairly poor. We had several cob webs throughout, a dirty wash cloth hanging from the shower head and what looked to be like a booger on the bathroom mirror. Front desk was is only open from 8-5 and no one was even there around 4:30. Great spot on the lake with beautiful views and that’s what your paying for.

Beautiful hotel and the scenery was everything.

Everything about Great Pines was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful.We were able to check in early. The property was clean, manicured and the view of the lake was amazing. We enjoyed walking the grounds and sitting in the adirondack chairs. The room was lovely with warm comforter and blankets and plenty of pillows, Towels, extra long and Fluffy. We have found new favorite getaway.

Beautiful place in the mountains

Loved the laid back nature of the place- no front desk Just arrive, take a life jacket and pull out a canoe and get busy enjoying the amazing lake. Nothing fussy about the place. Restaurant was delicious/ top notch food. Low key staff that help anyway they can but don’t get in way. Firewood and all you need to enjoy your evening in quiet. I’d probably get bigger room Next time .. our space for 4 was tight but I had cheap room

The room was lovely! Very cozy with the lake just off the porch! I heard a Loon the first evening. Right on the lake was wonderful!

Beautiful waterfront and fun lodge

We hoped to have the Lean-To open, but resorted to an old favorite! Slickers!

We loved our room, which had a partial lake view with a quick step out to a platform with Adirondack chairs, where we got an excellent view of the sun rise over the beautiful lake. The food at the Lean To restaurant was excellent!

Great Pines Resort is perfectly situated on Fourth Lake in the Adirondack Mountains of NYS, with both cabins and rooms in the main lodge offering spectacular views of the lake and surrounding mountains. The interior and exterior setting of the resort transports guests back to the era of the Great Camps with its large porches, stone fireplaces, and rustic twig accents. The resort is conveniently located between the towns of Old Forge and Inlet. (Don't miss going to a movie at the Strand Theater in Old Forge!) There is a cozy restaurant on the premises called the Lean-to that offers a simple bar and food menu for lunch or dinner. Guests help themselves to a continental breakfast, and this is where I think the resort could improve. A chef-prepared breakfast offering some of the area's favorites such as flapjacks and maple syrup would be a wonderful complement to this resort. There is a large dining room that doesn't appear to be used at all other than for special events. The staff is courteous and professional and fun. All in all, it is a great place for a vacation!

Loved the location, room was spacious, bathroom adequate. The whole place is nicely done, probably better food options in season.

Beautiful place

Great Pines is a perfect location for visits to the Old Forge/Inlet area. We love that it is pet friendly. The bar/restaurant is great. Beds are comfy; nice linens and towels provided. On the downside, our room was cold---and we found that the a couple of the windows would not shut all the way and the door did not seal properly----lighting in the room was really poor; one lamp was actually broken. Not a bad place----but for what you charge, you need to give some attention to some of these details.
