What a gem of a place. Had to make a quick trip to Grass Valley for a funeral, found this darling place and decided to give it a try. What a wonderful surprise. Everything was just perfect. From the guy who checked us in to the nice breakfast. A+++++ from us. And the sheets are so comfortable, as was the bed and pillows. Thank you!

This is a charming place. They have a big law. With a fire pit,bbq lots of chairs, corn hole. 2 small gazebos there’s breakfast fresh fruit, yogurt or bagel cream cheese brought to your door. Owner very nice. If I had know how comfy & charming I would have stayed longer

Had a wonderful stay! Tony is a friendly and caring host. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast was delicous and it was treat to sit on the patio, enjoying the beautiful scenery and listening to the birds as we ate it.

I was in King Room 11, which was newly remodeled. It was very cute and clean. Be sure to close the barn door that separates the toilet from the bedroom before sitting down or you will give a show to the courtyard. The grounds are great for pets, kids and groups. There is road noise since you're on a main road. I had a snag where my breakfast was not delivered the first morning. We worked it out for Sunday and it's because the owner was not on site that weekend, which is rare. I was confused if I should be washing my plates, cups etc. since there is only a bathroom sink. Take some time to learn the remotes for the TV, AC and LED light. Shower was very low flow and bring your own conditioner if you use it. I larger table would be appreciated for eating and laptop use.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at The Pines Inn and Cottages in Grass Valley. Tony is a gracious host who greeted us on arrival along with a sweet calico kitty and brought us a delicious breakfast of yogurt, fresh berries and grapes and bagels and cream cheese. He topped it all off with yummy caramel lattés he made himself in the little outdoor patio. We stayed in cottage #10, that was clean and nicely furnished, the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The amenities ideal. We wanted to get away from the fast-paced and often “cold” corporate hotels so chose to stay in Grass Valley and dined in Nevada City nearby. We found both towns very charming, quaint, not touristy, the locals very friendly, genuine and kind. It was super relaxing. We would definitely stay here again.

This is our third trip to the Pines over four years and I cant wait to go back. The attention to details like the music playing in the courtyard, the beautiful grounds, the plants on the patios, the slightly retro bar / BBQ area just makes the value soar! The bed was very comfortable, breakfast was light, fresh and delivered to us and their knowledge of the area very helpful. I will end with, cleanliness. Our room was spotless, very clean and that makes all the other perks exactly that a Perk! I cant say enough good things about The Pines. Go stay with them, you wont regret it!

Loved being able to sit outside the cottage on the porch and being able to grill at the center lounge under the canopy that they offer. It’s a cute place.

Tony was super easy to get a hold of and great communication. All of our expectations were well above 5 stars. We were unable to stay for breakfast due our families schedule changed but we will for sure stay again when in the area.

We love The Pines! I’ve have stayed here many times and the staff is so welcoming. Cozy rooms with nice details, small adequate kitchen with utensils, large smart tv for entertainment.
It’s our go to when we head to Grass Valley area! We will be back!

Absolutely love The Pines Inn! I stay there every time I’m in town for work. They treat you with the utmost respect and kindness! Beds are super comfy and the breakfast choices are yummy. I highly recommend staying at The Pines!!

The owner, Tony, was very accommodating. The basket breakfast was really good, and a nice surprise. Comfortable bed and furnishings. Cute cottage was very clean and tidy. No complaints!

The was a last-minute, 'only-place-we-could-find' booking, so we weren't sure what to expect; however, I am glad we discovered this gem. The room was very clean, and surprisingly stocked with utensils, dishes, cookware, coffee & tea, and sizeable fridge and microwave. The property host was extremely kind and went out of his way to make us feel welcomed. The included breakfast was fantastic. The property itself creates a very relaxing atmosphere with plenty of shaded seating for enjoying morning coffee. The property is ideal for a gathering or family reunion. We will definitely be back!

My room had a great blend of vintage and modern appeal - charming and comfortable. Everything worked perfectly. It was clean and the pillows were really nice. Great place to stay!

The pines is run by Tony who is the owner. He is so helpful and courteous and told us about a wonderful Italian place to eat that was amazing. If you stay there, ask him about the restaurant. There was fresh coffee grounds, ready to go for the morning, everything was super clean, the rooms were cool and comfortable beds. I will come back again for business and for personal.

We had a great stay at the Pines- Wonderful space, great yard area, and perfect little front patio for us. Stayed here at the end of a long year trip with our dogs and couldn’t have been more pleased with how comfortable the bed was, how cute the kitchenette was, and how wonderful it was to walk to town for dinner and breakfast. Would definitely visit again.

This little gem is a wonderful place to stay while in Grass Valley. We were welcomed by Tony with fresh watermelon served on ice and a cool glass of wine. The room was spotless, the bed a heavenly cloud and the kitchenette was perfect. There was extra seating on the patio outside our door where we enjoyed a personally delivered breakfast basket and lattes. The grounds are a peaceful garden with a koi pond, peaceful music playing and a comfortable seating area. We felt so welcomed and pampered during our stay. We will definitely return.

Wonderful gem with personal service, lovely grounds, quaint room with kitchenette and heavenly bed. Tony greeted us with fresh sliced watermelon and chilled wine. He also brought us a fabulous breakfast basket the next morning with bagels, fresh fruit, yogurt, orange juice and caramel lattes delivered to our patio. We felt pampered and welcomed. The garden grounds are peaceful with a koo pond, seating areas, grass lawn with games and soothing music playing. We will make this our go to whenever we are in Grass Valley. Perfectly lovely! I can not say enough good things about the entire stay… the staff, absolute gems of humans… the grounds, calming and inviting with lawn games, a koi pond and so much more… and the room, fully stocked and most importantly the bed is super comfy! I slept like a dream. Overall, 1000 stars if I could!!
