Had a great vibe proper balance between privacy and community.

This hostel is in a great location and has easy parking. It's very clean. The host, Michael, was fantastic -- a great gjuy and a credit to the Redlight (and humanity).

It's a hostel and I opted for the bunk because it's the most affordable option in Truckee. Its a good deal and nice people there. It's my 3rd time staying there and love the building. I was able to work in the bar area in the morning and noone was awake so I could do my work and drink my coffee in peace. It's walking distance to everything in downtown Truckee. Their bar is great too. No complaints from me for the affordability. Next price up in Truckee is over $3 bills a night.

This was my first stay, but probably not my last. Great location, great price, great place if you just need a chill place to sleep vs a resort! Nothing fancy, but it was comfortable and suited my needs. The other guests were friendly and they even have a sauna.

Absolutely awesome. And the most comfortable bed and any hostel that I have ever stayed out anywhere in the world, go figure. Great find.

Didn't stay at this place. Didn't like it. No tv in the room and the small room was near the bar. People check in at the bar. The entrance is from the bar. Awful! We ended up going to a better place.

This is a really quirky place to stay in a good way. It looks like the former brothel it was! It has the original bar still serving local brews. Rooms are small, but the bed was super comfortable. It has two outside patios and multiple indoor shared space areas. The communal kitchen was great for a multi day stay. We had a private shower, but the shared ones were very clean. I feel this site is better suited for singles and couples without children. The atmosphere is very relaxed, but for adults only.

This is a wonderfully quirky old-timey hotel. I stayed in the annex building. I had my own room, although the bathroom (very clean) was shared. There was no AC, but a large box fan did the trick. If you're a Ritz kind of person, this will not be your scene, but if you miss the days of youth-hostel, carefree travel, then this will be a great stay!

This hotel was perfect for me and my parents. It felt like a clean artist commune and was far more comfortable for us than a sterile regular hotel. The staff was wonderful and accommodating and the vibe was quirky and fun. There's a separate compost for treats for the chickens that live next door! I'll definitely be staying here again next time I visit Truckee!

Cute, funky little place in walking distance to the Amtrak train station. We stayed in the building two doors down rather than the main building. The third floor room was very warm. We managed to cool it down by pulling the bed out a bit, and putting the industrial strength fan in the window. That also helped drown out the train sounds The town itself is completely lit up at night with Christmas type lights. Very charming. Great restaurants to choose from

The place is a dump. I can not believe you even list. The room did not even have a garbage can.

I was originally enthusiastic about the character of this place but the artificial floral smell of the room mostly found in bathrooms is still in my nose. Even after a legendary powder day on the mountain. The mattresses are like 6 inches thick over wood. And the bunk beds are for kids. I would expect this kind of place for like $50, not what I paid. Oh... plan on taking a shower? Good luck!

Liked price. Location ok. Staff was nice when available but not always available. Interesting building and accommodations. Nice to buy ice cream there and have kitchen facilities. Bunk beds were new experience for grandson. Would have liked to have been able to check in before 3:30 and staff seemed vague about parking hours and did not clearly communicate where to park overnight. Would have been good to have printed map of where and when parking was free. Staff took picture with my cell phone but this was not adequate.

Great place to stay. Should have a mirror in the room. Cute, quirky place that was really fun to stay. Parking is dismal but everything else was great.
