I love history and paranormal stuff and this is a great place. Very interesting to walk around the old buildings and cemetary. It was great talking with Jesse the Innkeeper and having some wine in the bar. I did not experience anything paranormal but I heard some good stories!

Not what we were expecting from the pictures. Expected a more up to date Inn. Property was cool to walk around and enjoyed the history of the place. Walls are super, super thin.

The place is haunted - I was the only person in the whole manor house and the guest books on the desk talk about all of the ghosts and paranormal activity. It is the scariest night of my entire house.

It was a really place at a great price! I wish we had arrived early enough to get to enjoy the winery. It was a very easy after hours check in.

We had a pleasant stay at the hotel, and the staff were wonderful. However, there were a few surprises regarding the property. We were expecting a winery experience, but it turns out the vineyard on-site is more for show; the actual vineyard is located elsewhere and not nearby. On the plus side, the wine was quite tasty. The hotel is surrounded by four historic buildings that are abundant and overgrown with vegetation. Unfortunately, these buildings are not accessible due to hazardous conditions, which added an unexpected and somewhat eerie element to the stay. The property’s main selling point is its tranquil location, offering a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Thank you to the staff for their excellent service and hospitality during our stay.

Always an amazing stay at Belvoir! One of our favorite places to visit!

The owners are very nice people and done a wonderful job renovating the property. Vineyard in the rear of the property is beautiful. The cemetery atop the hill is the final resting place of those who first built the children’s home and hospitals, school. This place is teeming with energy and those from the past linger in the halls and sitting rooms.

Highly recommended! This is the place to stay if you’re planning a trip to Kansas City or Liberty. Our room is very clean, comfortable and so spacious. The property is beautiful, interesting and fun while the wines from the winery are delicious. We were also fortunate to meet the innkeeper who showed us such warm and gracious hospitality. We had such a good time and will choose to stay here if ever we are in Kansas City again.

The place was interesting if not a little dirty. There were a couple bugs in the room, but I think that’s to be expected in an old building. The bed was very comfortable and the aesthetic was charming. The wine tasting bar was cute and the bartender Ashley was very nice and fun to talk to.

I wish I could support a private hotel, the big hotel companies buying everything is annoying. But this was horrible, no other way to put it. The bed was a medieval torture device. I ended up getting out of it and trying to sleep on a tiny loveseat, and ended up on the floor. The rooms/halls are SOOOO loud. There isn't a check in desk, you just have to hope you can find someone. Not sure I have ever just given up and left a place, but that's what we had to do. They were nice enough to let us cancel the rest of our stay, once we found someone that could do anything about it. We ended up paying lots more to stay further away, but there is no way we could have stayed there.

Cannot wait to return!

A unique place, for sure. Something we typically look for in our travels. Friendly staff and great grounds for a stroll. Unfortunately our plans didn’t allow time to check out the wine tasting bar either night of our stay, but we observed many seemingly satisfied customers every time we came and went.

Neat place, but almost no services and not near anything. To say it is a vinyard is a joke.

My husband and I chose this property for our last stay for our two week honeymoon roadtrip! We didn’t find out the amazingly interesting history behind the building until 10 minutes before getting there! It’s a winery, sure that’s a plus, but the Odd Fellows history was so cool to learn about! There are still old standing buildings on the property that are cool to look at! Reminder to anyone thinking to book.. don’t be a fool and try going inside of those buildings. They are not safe! Ashley, the bartender, was AWESOME and she was knowledgeable about everything on the property. The rooms are insanely clean, and named after the wines (maybe the other way around?). We plan to come back and hopefully experience some ghosts! We didn’t this time, but we were plum tired!!

Stay here every year. Great quiet please !

This property is very unique!

The property is a work in progress. A former orphanage that is being brought back to life by becoming an inn. There's still lots to be done. It will be interesting to follow the renovation process. The room was spacious and comfortable. It would have been a plus to have glasses in the bathroom for toothbrushes. Would stay there again. Very unique!

LOVE the Belvoir! It’s a wonderful place to stay the night and explore the history of the grounds. We have stayed multiple times and keep coming back for more. The rooms are spacious and well maintained, and the property itself is beautiful and majestic. Definitely recommend!!!

Had a couple of eerie things happen. Nothing on Expedia stated this place is listed as haunted. Noises all night long and a really weird vibe. Sounded like someone walking and running all night long, but we were on the top floor.

Unique. Quiet. Large room. Like sleeping at home. This is a working winery. Workers outside at 6am. Don't expect anyone around to help you. Not sure if there was anyone on the property but the guests at night.

Great history beautiful place

Stumbled upon this hotel gem by chance. Absolutely beautiful location and accommodations. Everything was clean, staff friendly and welcoming. We had fun exploring the hotel and the grounds. Did some wine tasting and purchased some delicious wine. The hotel has a history of being haunted and I was hoping for some paranormal activity but the spirits were quiet the two nights we stayed. Enjoyed talking to Jesse one of the owners and learning more about the history of the buildings. If you are in the area I would highly recommend a stay at the Belvoir winery.

We loved seeing the facility. We were sorry that we didn't get to enjoy having a drink on the patio. We ran out of time as we had to be at a local hospital VERY early the next morning. We hope to return sometime. We did rent the same room the next night, but again we spent most of our time at the hospital. We were sorry that we had to pay a much higher amt. the 2nd night. But the 2nd night was on a Friday night. I just feel we might have been given a discounted rate. We were thankful that we didn't have to move our items from the room that we stayed in on Thursday night. Things happened at the hospital that required us to stay in K.C. area for actually 5 more days. We enjoyed a bottle of the wine in our room. The shower in our room needed a higher lip on the floor so water didn't get out on the floor. We were careful in cleaning up the water from the beautiful floors. Very happy that the family is working on keeping this beautiful building available to the public.

Well, the best I can say is that the place is a work in progress. It had its charm, but it had many faults. To be fair, this is the old Odd Fellows Orphanage that has risen out of its ashes to become an interesting place. Looks like a good event setting, but there are many deficiencies to overcome. A few specifics: Mattress and bedding were fine, but the bed foundation was squeaky and noisy; nice little sitting area, but the couch was "sad"; noise infiltration is an issue - they issue earplugs to each guest; air conditioning is newer and works well; lighting in the room took some time getting used to - odd switches for sure; old drafty windows. Didn't avail ourselves of the wine tasking, but it looked nice. If you are a bit adventuresome, it can be a good experience. If you're looking for a palace, look elsewhere. It has the potential to evolve into something very nice, and we'd actually consider staying again.

We had a nice quiet stay at the property. It’s nice having a winery and bar on site. The only thing I wish I had known was that this place is known for paranormal activity. I didn’t see that mentioned in any reviews ahead a time, although we personally didn’t experience anything paranormal.

This would be the perfect place for a wedding or family reunion. Check-in was easy, the room was huge, staff was friendly. The grounds are awesome. This is a hidden gem.

A beautiful quiet location. Perfect Backdrop for Weddings and Family Reunions. Great wine to boot. Super freindly Staff.

We came down for Grandsons baseball tournament. It was close to fields. Wonderful settings and a great place to relax with a glass of great wine after the games. Didn't know anything about the history, did a little research and found it very interesting.
