2nd stay here. Great location for Shinagawa and Takanawa Gateway. Small room but bigger than an APA. Great bed - very comfy. Good bathroom. Good breakfast and meeting area in lobby, plus bag drop. Would stay again.

Although Miyako Tanakawa reviews mentioned that the hotel is not far from the Yamamoto line and Shinkansen, we discovered that it is a fairly long walk to Shinagawa train station. Good impression of Miyako hotel staff. The front office staff were helpful courteous and pleasant. We had booked the largest room with a sofa and King size bed. However the hotel room is rather compact and the bed was parked against the wall on one side, and it was really difficult for my partner to get in and out of bed, especially in the middle of the night whenever there’s a need to use the toilet. This posed a real challenge and a bit of hardship for us during the six nights’ stay at the Miyako Tanakawa. The bathroom on the other hand was quite spacious by Japanese standards but I personally would prefer more space in the room. There was insufficient space to even open my suitcase, therefore the entire stay of one week, I had to live out of the suitcase. There were not many dining options nearby and the hotel location was rather inconvenient. For these reasons, Miyako Tanakawa Hotel did not meet our expectations.

Location is just a quick walk from shinagawa stastion, great location away from the busier stastions in tokyo (shinjuku, shibuya, etc) your 15 minute away from almost everything on the Yamanote line.
My next visit to tokyo ill be booking atbthe Miyako again.

The hotel was very modern, clean and more spacious than most hotels closer to Tokyo. The district is surrounded mostly by offices but it is relatively close to Shinagawa and Sengakuji stations so it is easy to get around Tokyo. I enjoyed the 5-10pm complimentary tea, coffee and snacks every day, it was great to recharge after exploring the city each day.

I would definitely stay here again. This was a pretty upscale Mitsui Garden. The room was quite roomy by Japanese standards. Great location, walkable area. The breakfast in the morning was really nice with Japanese and North American options and the coffee was good. Laundry facilities were great to have in the heat of the summer. Staff friendly and super helpful. We had our luggage shipped from our previous hotel as we were travelling by train and it was waiting in the room for us when we checked in.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The location near transport and attractions, along with numerous food options, added great convenience. The front desk staff's professionalism and friendliness made for a smooth check-in, while the spotless rooms and quality amenities contributed to a comfortable stay. The spacious bathroom and thoughtful touches like bath salts were much appreciated after long days of exploration.
The breakfast, offering both Japanese and Western options, was well-received, and the attentive restaurant staff enhanced your dining experience. Even though we didn’t use all the hotel’s facilities, the available perks were appreciated. Overall, our positive experience with the hotel's service and amenities makes it clear why I would choose to stay here again.

Hotel was absolutely wonderful & spacious. We stayed in Japan for 2 weeks, went to 5 hotels and this is one of our favorite ones. The staff was kind. The room was very clean. They give you everything you need in your room. But the hotel isn’t close to the downtown area by train or walk.

Generally the room was good, however, rooms were very small.
The staff were not very polite.
- There were ham and cheese sandwiches being freshly made at breakfast, I asked to get them without ham (as Muslims we are not allowed to eat) and first day they gave it, but second and third day they refused to.
- At the time of check-out I requested to get a late check-out as we were travelling with a baby but they asked us to pay 2,000YEN per hour

Facilities and room are very clean and new. The hotel offers free drinks and snack every night which is impressive. The breakfast is also good. The area that the hotel located is developing, 10 minutes walk to the train station is needed and there is only one small convenient store nearby.

Horrible smell like mildew in multiple rooms. We booked two rooms and have been unable to find a second room that doesn't have an odor that is irritating. After further investigation we noticed the air cleaning filters are dirty with black stuff.

The staff was very helpful when we had questions about transportation via taxi, subway and luggage transfer. The first day it was raining hard and they offered all 4 of us umbrellas without us asking. The staff is thoughtful and kind.

We enjoyed our stay thanks to the helpful staff with a big shoutout to our housekeeper that looked after us in 612/616/618. We only required service for one room throughout our stay, for one day only, but she was attentive and communicated with us in Japanese, Chinese and English. We would see her on the floor everyday and she would ask if we needed anything. Property was fantastic and well kept. It felt so new and clean that we believe there may have been a recent renovation. Very convenient location between Takanawa and Shinagawa station. Breakfast buffet available at additional cost. Free juice/coffee from 5p-10p in the lobby. Free WiFi. 2 laundry machines in the basement but takes only small amounts of clothing or it will not dry. If you don’t not pick it up on time, the guest services team will collect the clothes for you and hold it behind the front desk. Microwave in the basement as well as two drink vending machines. Overall, great stay!
