Staff were outstanding. Lovely canal walk to V&A waterfront and handy for Bree street where there are lots of nice restaurants. A small gym but it had enough kit for small number of users. Can highly recommend

The hotel staff is very polite and welcoming. However, despite the name ‘Waterfront,’ the location is somewhat misleading. While Maps view might give the impression that it’s close to the V&A Waterfront, it’s actually around a 20-minute walk, as the direct route is blocked by a container port, train tracks, and fencing. This isolation, along with the views of industrial activity, makes the hotel feel quite cut off from the vibrant V&A area. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend staying here if easy access to the Waterfront is important.

We wanted to stay on Victoria Alfred Harbor/waterfront . Expedia gave that as the location for AC Marriott, but it was actually a 20 minute taxi or water taxi away from the waterfront.

These people were so amazing from checkin to checkout. Very genuine and hospitable. They all were attentive to our needs and extended lots of helping hands. The rooms were amazing with an amazing view. Right in the heart of shopping and getting around. They offer complimentary shuttle service to things in the area and a free canal cruise pass. Absolutely amazing breakfast and amazing dinner menu. We hated leaving. The managers were awesome and so where all of out servers. Will stay 100 times again.

I was dubious about booking this hotel due to location and previous reviews. I should not have been. The staff are awesome and really friendly, hotel is very clean, you can get anywhere quickly and cheaply by uber. The bed is really comfy, i rarely find hotels i can sleep well in this is one.
Im back in Cape Town in a week and im 90% certain im staying here. For what you need a hotel for its perfect.
Breakfast is v good.
They clean the rooms up until 5pm which is perfect if you are working, or want to hang around your room during the day.
The staff make this hotel and i hope the management realise how good they are.
Perfectly safe as well in case anyone has any concerns.
One tip drink the free bottled water, the bottled water you pay for has a bad smell from it. I thought it was just me but a colleague said the same.

I gave all excellent ratings. My only advice is that the hotel misses the mark on being environmentally active - there is no in-room card to through on the bed to indicate that you do NOT want the linens changed. Secondly, after cleaning the room no matter what time of day they turn on the lights - which means if you come back to the room late in the day the lights have been blazing away all day with nobody there. In this day and age with climate change already here - hotels need to do their part to conserve energy (and many do address this) and reduce CO2 emissions!

Virtually new, nice rooms, outstanding breakfast included. Use BOLT rather than Uber for easy access to nearby huge shopping center on the water, or downtown.
The hotel isn’t walkable since it is in a tiny pocket development near the convention center with few nearby services, but BOLT is cheap and the hotel wonderful. Friendly, helpful staff.

Front desk staff Ashura is wonderful and help me dealing with an over prize Uber. I requested a Uber on line it cost around 13 US dollars from airport to my hotel. When I got out and was met by two person with a Uber staff tags. They told me the car I ordered would not come into the airport. Before I knew,the guy reached over my phone and canceled my order. They told me to go with their Car since it’s Uber. The price when I arrived came to $80 US. Ashura help me deal with the driver. I ended up playing $20 US.

Nice breakfast buffet and hotel staff was good. The location is "clean" industrial, with train track right out front and shipping docks across the street. I think that the property is a good deal with the included meals.

Hotel is not waterfront. It is very difficult to get around (to/from waterfront) on foot. While geographically close, fences make getting anywhere much more time consuming. Good breakfast, though.

Only stayed one night. The staff were great especially Richard and Sam. Sam mixed some great drinks and if you were wondering which wine to drink, Richard was a star. Thank you for a great experience.

Great customer service from all staff and great breakfast menu. Hotel is a bit far from the restaurants and stores in the waterfront. However, the hotel does a good job providing shuttle service taking guests every half an hour back and forth.

This was a great location before getting on the cruise. Its right there! I'm a lil Ocd when it comes to clean before I relax in a room. I use Clorox wipes for everything I will touch! from the door to windows. Me and a friend tag team the room and there was literally no dirt on the wipes! do you know how rare that is?! The cleaning services there is amazing!

Nothing special about the property but the location is central. The View of Cargo containers across from hotel entrance is unappealing. It is the shipping dock spot where cruise ships were parked for the cruisers. Walking distance to the Marina and V&A, which was convenient. They also have a free bus shuttle and boat shuttle to the waterfront. The staff is super kind and breakfast buffet is extravagant. The table Mountain View from the room was also beautiful.

We stayed three nights at the AC Marriott hotel 3-6 April 2024. From the moment we arrived to the time we checked out the service was exceptional! The staff were helpful, friendly, hospitable and professional. The hotel and our room was lovely and clean. The beds were super comfy. The mountain views were breathtaking. The convenient, complimentary canal cruise into the V&A Waterfront was a lovely surprise and appreciated. The food was delicious. Would highly recommend staying here. Looking forward to visiting in the future! Thank you 😊
