This was the best overall place we stayed during our two months in New Zealand. Each room has a separate section of a huge balcony with stunning views, comfortable patio furniture. The room was large, comfortable, with large picture windows. The bathroom was large and modern with a great shower. Breakfast was delicious with a number of options to choose from and the hosts were terrific, friendly, knowledgeable about the area.

Atea Lodge was amazing! The fabulous views were right outside our doors, and Lyn and Kelvin are wonderful hosts. Do yourself a big favor and have Lyn make you pizza with fresh from the garden veggies… absolutely the best pizza in New Zealand! We loved Atea so much that we extended our stay!

Our only regret was staying only 2 nights, next trip to NZ we will stay here a week.

One word describes Atea Lodge—WOW! This is a gorgeous accommodation with stunning views, beautiful, spacious rooms, very comfortable beds and a perfect location up on the mountain above Coromandel Town. The hosts have done an amazing job to create a 5-star experience. Breakfast was delicious, more than ample serving sizes and 5 options to choose from. This should be number One on the list when looking in Coromandel. Will definitely stay there again.

Everything about Atea Lodge is gorgeous and that is due to the work of Lynn and Kelvin-the two owners. They have created a beautiful property that makes the most of stunning views and location. It's comfortable and the breakfasts are delicious. We loved our stay and will be back.

The property was fantastic. Lynn and Kelvin are wonderful hosts. The room was impeccable with a super comfortable bed, nice linens and great amenities (including the ensuite). The wrap around deck was incredible with amazing views. The guest lodge was also incredible and a great place to unwind. The breakfasts were superb and a highlight of our stay. Without a doubt, one of the nicest lodges in New Zealand. Is "the" place to stay in Coromandel.

This stay was the standout of our trip, the location, the views, but most of all the hosts were absolutely amazing with a free meal when we got there, breakfast in the morning & and the other special touches they thought of. This place has to be experienced, I will return.

We stayed 1 night and wished it were at least 3. We arrived in the evening very tired from our day of adventures on a tour with no car. The hosts offered to drive us into town for a takeaway but we were ready to just sit and enjoy the view. Instead we were offered some wine, to which they added some cheese, meats and fruit and suddenly we had out very own charcuterie board dinner. We ate on the deck and watched the sun go own. The bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed the large shower. Breakfast was taken on the deck in the morning also with made to order eggs benedict, french toast and fresh fruit. Next visit we will rent a car and stay longer.

First class boutique accommodation. Incredible hosts who look after you, excellent accommodation and spectacular views. Would highly recommend and will definitely be our first choice if in Coromandel again

What a wonderful place - truly spectacular, and the hosts Kelvin and Lyn are quite simply one of a kind. They made our stay so magical we decided to stay longer. We will definitely go back and we cannot think of a better place tp stay on the Coromandel.

My husband and I spent two great nights at the Atea Lodge. It is located on a hilltop overlooking Coromandel.. Lovely veranda to sit out and enjoy the spectacular views. Lynn and Kelvin are terrific hosts, very warm and welcoming. They brought us glasses of wine and a cheese plate to enjoy on the verandah after arrival. The suite was fresh and very comfortable. Big bathroom with a great shower. Breakfast was delicious, continental plus great hot items. I asked for decaf coffee the first morning. Lynn apologized that she only had powdered. I took a pass on that and wasn’t at all bothered about it. By next morning Lynn had gone out and got ground decaf beans and made me a lovely cup of coffee with a French Press. She had put decaf Nespresso in our suite. So very thoughtful. Lovely hosts, gorgeous place - couldn’t have wished for more.

Simply LOVELY. The views are truly phenomenal. The property sits on top and allows quietness wash away your travel fatigue. The hosts' enthusiastic welcome adds even more the enjoyment. And the room is top notch.

BEST STAY in our 19 nights of hotels, lodges, & motels in north and south islands! The lodge and rooms have spectacular view. It has an openness and cleanliness that just make you want to take deep breaths and relax. The place was recently remodeled before opening and it has all the modern amenities and classy, clean-line decor you expect from any high end 5*s big city hotel. Lynn and Kelvin have spectacular tastes. Breakfast was delicious and L&K catered to our every need. Garden was beautifully landscaped. It is remotely and peacefully tucked in the hill above Coromandel town (10 min drive away). Our stay was private and peaceful on the balcony overlooking the great view when we want it to be. Or had the chummy feel of a great b&b, when we want to be engaged in conversation with other guests and the hosts.Can't recommend it more! What a treat in every way!
