Charming room and great breakfast

We were welcomed by Kamal and from our first meeting, we felt very much at home. The Riad was beautiful, our room was clean and spacious, the bed was comfortable and our breakfast was good. Kamal, Aziz and the lovely lady work as a great team and there is a happy atmosphere. It was very easy to find our way to the Riad and great to explore the pretty streets walking different ways from town back “home”. Thank you to all at Riad Zaitouna for a memorable stay in beautiful Chefchaouen.

We really liked our one night stay at Zaitouna. The staff were friendly and helpful. The places so comfortable and has nice rooftop views. Breakfast was simple but nice. Location was perfect for us, not to far from the taxi stand and also good location to the best parts of Chefchaouen walking up where no one else goes! Great value for money!

The internet on our floor was really slow and sometimes not working. It worked on the lower floors

The location of this Riad may be challenging for many as it is up steep inclines and stairs, but it is in the center of the Medina and a perfect location to explore. Also, although the rooftop is quite small it does have a beautiful panoramic view of Chefchouen. The facility was spotless and Aziz was AMAZING! Very professional, caring and accommodating. Also breakfast was a complete spread and very yummy.

If it wasn’t for Aziz, we would have left this place after the first night. Firstly, I messaged the property several days before our arrival to book a taxi from Tangier to Chefchouen. It was all confirmed until the day before we needed picking up. Om the day, no one had responded to my emails or calls via Booking and no taxi arrived. When I finally reached someone (later found out it was Aziz) he tried to arrange a pick but we had arranged something else. Upon arrival, we were kindly greeted and shown to our rooms. I booked the room with the view which was hilarious. The photos appear as if you have a balcony and private view, but the balcony is shared with everyone in the Riad and anyone can look in your window. So I would not be able to enjoy the view. Also the room could have used some fresh paint and repairs to the cracks in the wall and ceiling. I requested to change rooms and Aziz was very understanding and accommodating. However, there were no light bulbs in a couple of the light fixtures (Aziz replaced), the toilet seat was literally hanging off, the shower head was not attached to the wall fully and don’t get me started on the fact that I had to take cold showers for 3 days even after I asked for it to be repaired after day 2. The water would be hot for 2 minutes then turn freezing cold. I tried to pay for 2 days but they insisted I pay cash because the credit card machine didn’t work. My stay wasn’t horrible but definitely could have been much better. The owner of this Riad needs to invest some time and money into the property.

The staff at the hotel were excellent, very friendly & knowledgeable. The Riad oozed charm & breakfast on the roof terrace the icing on the cake. Very well located, I highly recommend the Zaitouna.

Lovely place in the middle of the medina. They picked me up on a central point so I couldn't get lost. The rooms are spacious, clean and provide all for a comfortable stay. The breakfast, served on the roof terrace is another highlight with delicious local, all natural products. Aziz and Kamal are warm-hearted, attentive hosts and always at your service. Highly recommended. I will definitely come back.

The staff was friendly.

Terrible shower, you had to wait 2 to 3 minutes to the water to start to warm up. And after that it would last for few seconds and you get a cold water on you, and again need to wait for hot water. The bathroom was full of mold and not so clean. The cleaning is bad. The bathroom had water dripping from the broken sink. Terrible smell coming from the bathroom, even with the closed door.

The host gave us a warm welcome with mint tea :) The room was good enough for a short stay, and the breakfast was also good. The view from the terrace was very nice.

The staff were great, location fabulous, bed was comfortable, superb breakfast.

Needs maintenance on the shower- the shower head was broken and the sewer gas was sometimes intense. We mitigated this by pouring water down the sewer and covering it with a towel.

It was quite noisy all day from people in the street playing loud music and also some "ambient" music in the hotel. Quiet after 10ish.
