It was all good. Only slight issues were that we thought we'd ordered a double but got a twin. Not a huge deal and we didn't bother complain.
Secondly, plugs next to the bed would have been convenient. I have a CPAP machine so need it by the bed. We asked for an extension lead but they were unable to provide one.
On the other end, the restaurant was a hit, the staff were lovely and the room felt like it had real character. Excellent value.

A very clean and comfortable room. Most of the staff were friendly- some of the restaurant staff were a little abrupt. Delicious breakfast with a live omelette cooking station. Not far from the city centre - a 30 minute walk, but there is a bus stop close by with a range of buses all running at regular times.

Hotel was Ok for a short stay. Not as easy to get to from the train station as it seems. In a rundown part of town. However the breakfast was nice and had onsite restaurant.

Nice, friendly place, with good breakfast and spacious rooms. Some of the rooms are on the noisier street side - if you find the traffic disturbing, be sure to ask for a back side room.

Hotel was on an extremely busy main road with a lot of noise and exaust fumes. We had to keep the window closed whenever we were in our room.
Hauling our luggage up the very steep ramp to the hotel was a challange.
There was no airconditioning.
Staff was friendly and helpfull. Breakfast was ok, however only choices of whit bread available.
Room was clean and tidy.

We chose the Matysak because it had great reviews and is close to the station. The staff were friendly, the rooms were large, spacious and well-equipped, and the breakfasts were great, including hot dishes as well as the usual range of cold options. The croissants were especially delicious! I would love to give the hotel 5 stars, and I certainly would stay there again. But I have to point out a couple of issues. First, the room safe was broken and dismantled. The front desk said that was deliberate, because it was one of the safes that had been malfunctioning. If you have malfunctioning equipment, you replace it, you don't just leave it. Two lights were not working but those got fixed after I reported the problem (thank you). The wifi was too weak to use in my room, except really close to the door, down on the floor. Although the room safe and wifi problems prevent me from giving 5 stars, overall I was very satisfied.

Walking with big suitcase from the train station to the hotel was not easy cos the pavement and flyover were rugged. This was not the issue of the hotel, but it affected my overall experience.
The hotel was very clean though old fashioned in an old district, not old town. It's quite noisy as it's on the main road. I had to close the window. There's no air conditioning. I had to use the fan in the room. I think I will take a bus instead of train to Bratislava next time and choose a hotel in a new district.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast. They tried to tone down an accident because of our mistake. We like the place and we’ll stay again in that hotel if possible.

Would not recommend in summer as not air conditioned. Able to open the window but the traffic noise was unbearable, not to mention the insect bites!
The breakfast was ok but the room unbearably hot.
