I loved my stay here. I had the 1 bed room apartment, & everything was great. Was like staying at home away from home.

And...your check-in process was more difficult than it had to be - with multiple failed attempts and many confusing emails...

Room 210 overhead drain pipes from floors above were extremely loud in one of the two bedrooms making it almost unusable. Aside from that is was a nice place to stay

Fantastic accommodations at a great price point. Everything downtown is easily walkable from here. So many options all within 5 minutes. Fantastic trip.

Stayed 4 nights, queen room city view. We were overall pretty happy with this Sonder location. Areas that need improvement would be overall cleanness of room/common spaces in the hotel. We found quite a few places that needed a good wipe down in the room. I found we were able to justify a lot of these things though because of the price per night. The room had a lot of amenities you would need if you were planning on using the kitchen or in room laundry (dish washer pods, laundry pods). We parked across the street in the uncovered lot and were very pleased. Lot was tended to 24/7 with fence around, lot was quite busy. One of my main concerns was not having a lobby hostess for questions but I quickly realized I didn’t really need this person as I would ask the chat in app and within a few minutes a prompt response was given. Overall happy with Sonder Gabriel Richard Detroit.

Lovely apartment, amazing view, great staff - and right in the heart of Downtown Detroit. Great transport connections (Q Line 6 min walk away, People Mover next door, Rosa Parks Transit Center across the street, and DAX bus to the airport across the street). Internet and amenities were great, and a very comfortable bed

2nd time! Upon my request to vacuum the floor, Derrick at the front desk professionally and perfectly arranged the cleaning service. The cleaning was wonderfully made and I really enjoyed my stay!

The room was cute and very close to a lot of restaurants and other things in Downtown Detroit. The place do not have a front desk for check in or anyone to go to for needs or questions. You download their Sonder app, create an account, and check in using that. You don’t interact with a human for any of the check in or check out process or during your stay if you need anything. The room was dusty from eye level and up. It was very spacious and cute. Kitchen had what you need. You can hear outside and inside sounds. My room was by the elevator and I could hear people walking by all the time.

Bed was very comfortable. It was nice to have a full size refrigerator to put drinks and food in. We were able to walk to everywhere we wanted to go.

OK, so this was definitely a different experience due to the check in process but it was the best. So you basically check in on the Sonder app and even your key is on the app. Totally amazing because we HATE the regular check in process at hotels. This is the future and I love it. We got an entire apartment for the price of one hotel room and it was in a great location. I came back home telling everyone about this place. Definitely recommend!

Very clean. Comfortable bed. Within walking distance to a lot of restaurants and about 15 min walk to Ford Field and surrounding theaters. Would definitely stay again.

It was a very good stay, nice and clean but still need to provide essentials for the bathroom like tooth brushes and tooth paste need to attach bidets

Pros: room has lot of great amenities like a full kitchen, washer and dryer, and a comfortable bed.
Cons: Cleanliness. There was a tea bag stuck to my ceiling, and the vents were coated in dust. If I walked around my socks were covered in dust. Additionally there is no housekeeping. My room only had half a roll of toilet paper and like 3 tissues in a box. I had to request more, there weren't extras anywhere in the room.
For the price I would have expected at least extra toilet paper and housekeeping.
The elevator is outdated and the hallways seem a bit dirty too, but those were less of a problem.

We loved Hotel Sonder! Primo location, primo bedding. And loved the layout, felt like our own little Detroit apartment! Will definitely recommend and will definitely be back!

This place is a great concept, but it’s a bare-bones, no frills operation. It is outrageously overpriced for the value. Terrible bedding. Empty supply closet. Poorly renovated building with cheap fixtures. The ‘gym’ is a joke.
It has a great location. That’s about it.

It was a great stay. The room was clean and we felt safe. The pull out bed wasn’t the most comfortable, but it was fine for what it was.

Our time in Detroit was all about catching up with family, but our room was more than just a room. A one bedroom apartment allowed us to wash laundry, prepare meals, come together in a spacious and warehouse chic space. We hit the jackpot this with hotel and great parking options nearby. We paid US$60 for 2 nights and the open air garage had 24 hour security.

My husband and I booked here for our anniversary. The stay here was so peaceful. Our apartment has a washer and dryer! That was an A for us. We love all the amenities Sonder have. Sonder is a great place to stay, very clean. The front desk staff are so professional. We will be back.

I loved this hotel. Very cozy vibe to it! I got a city view room and It did not disappoint! The one thing I was unsure about is there is a couple rehabilitation centers for drugs and alcohol around and a lot of people wondering the streets. In the day I felt complete safe. Just be safe in the evening. The windows are pretty hollow so you hear a lot of outside noise at night so if you are light sleeper consider that:) overall I loved this stay and I would definitely come back!

Great location. Looks like the pictures. Clean. It’s just like staying in a luxury apartment. Parking lot options available all around the building but not part of the property. That parking was overnight and that includes in-and-out privileges. Check-in was easy in the app.

It's better than a hotel, if you travel with children or if you like a bit more room but dislike uncertainty of air b&b, then this is your place!
