This was our first stay and definitely won’t be our last. All the goodness of downtown is just steps away. Loved sitting on the rooftop, sipping a cold drink, and listening to the marching band practice in the stadium.

The Horton hotel is my favorite place to stay in Boone. We came up for a show and were able to walk everywhere. We showed up a little bit early and they allowed us to check in, everything was clean, nice toiletries, perfect location. We had a great time on the rooftop bar. The two fantastic bartenders even stayed up with us when it started to rain a little. Just a wonderful stay!

Great location in downtown Boone NC. Rooftop bar nice. Room was very nice. Two things not so great.1) No window at least in our room. 2) paying for parking in a gravel lot down behind hotel across a street. A good 100 yard walk up hill to get to hotel.over all I would still give a 3.5 out of 5 rating.

We stayed here because it is close to the Appalachian Theatre of the High Country. The room was comfortable. The room had giant slabs of wood in the bedroom and the bathroom. Nicely decorated room. Coffee down the hall. Breakfast was very good and filling.

It was easy to visit our daughter who attends App State. We took our dog with us and she did well. The hotel room included dog bowls and treats, which was very helpful.

The hotel has a cool vibe, and we booked because it was dog friendly but then we’re told no dogs in bar or rooftop lounge which was disappointing. Also the rooftop bar wasn’t open when we arrived. We weren’t given an explanation of why but that was one of the other reasons we booked. Room was spacious and seemed clean but had a vomit odor. Overall pricey but great location.

This hotel is so unique but the amenities are unbelievable! The only rooftop bar in Boone and the service was beyond compare. I will definitely be back.

Great location and lots of amenities for a small property. The insulation was not great so you can get a lot of noise from the bar downstairs. It closes at 10:00, so after that it was great. Overall, we were very pleased. Unfortunately it was raining, so could not enjoy the rooftop bar.

Great location. Parking was too far away. It should have 2-3 30 min slots on the street for guests only. Not sure of the kitchen equipment, but pourable creamers and juices would be nice. A list of local restaurants that will deliver food to the hotel would be nice. To the room or to the lounge areas.
The atmosphere and the staff are very enjoyable. The simple touches of robes, water pitcher, nice linens and blankets for the roof lounge are really thoughtful.
I would return and recommend to others.

Not as advertised. Rooms are way smaller than pics suggest. Basically no windows, no heat in the bathroom. There is a mysterious loud low-end hum that’s quite annoying in room 16. There is no restaurant and very limited snacks- popcorn and chocolate. Never stayed at a boutique hotel w no restaurant…

Very unique and in a great location. Breakfast was included and was very nice selections. Staff was exceptional.

The stay was ok overall. Be warned that if you stay in room 2 on the ground level floor (pet friendly option), you will hear every noise possible from the bar/kitchen area directly above you…. The noise lasted from check in until 10-1030 pm (when the bar closes) and started back up again around 7 am the following morning. I wish there could have been some sort of advisory when booking this specific room about the noise level.

Be very careful, in a basement room with no windows heard bar noise late at night. No fresh items at breakfast. Parking inconvenient and $350 rate . Poor value.

The Horton is a great boutique hotel located in downtown Boone. Within walking distance is many shops, restaurants and Appalachian State University.

Very nice property, convenient to everything downtown and has a great roof top bar with wonderful views. The only down side is their breakfast offering leaves a little to be desired.

We loved the Horton and would return for another visit. Thru Hotel.com our room was in the basement, called the lower level. I did not like this at all and would call to make sure another visit was not on the “lower level”. Staff tried to accommodate s change but no rooms available. Alice and Morgan were just wonderful trying to make our stay great in spite of the location of our room. Roof top bar exceptional and do we’re the smoked Old Fashions! I would highly recommend just NOT lower level. Room was very nice just no window making me uncomfortable.

Room was clean and functional. Great location for restaurants and downtown. Our room was below the bar/restaurant so our ceiling area was quite noisy in the evening and early morning. The roof top bar was great but there was no service so you needed to take the elevator down to the bar to get drink. Second time we stayed at the Horton but we will try another place next time.
