«La Casa de Joy» est notre belle maison de luxe au bord de l'eau à 1 lit et 2 salles de bain sur le lac Travis. Cette maison a été présentée sur HGTV's Straw with Style, Designing Texas, et était la couverture du magazine Natural Home. Il s'agit de la plus haute maison en ballots de paille du Texas, et architecturalement unique avec des carreaux et des pierres précieuses peints à la main placés dans le sol. Il est conçu pour accueillir deux personnes, mais la literie peut être ajoutée pour accueillir quatre personnes. Cette maison est parfaite pour une escapade romantique, une lune de miel, une retraite privée ou pour louer comme maison principale pour votre événement / retraite.
À l'entrée principale, vous êtes accueillis avec une belle vue sur toute la propriété, le jardin et un étang à carpes. Parcourez l'entrée en flèche dans le salon principal au rez-de-chaussée avec une cheminée en pierre angulaire, un salon en contrebas et une cuisine de chef entièrement équipée. We had stayed here once before and loved it. This time, the area was much busier. The house next to the bedroom had people celebrating past midnight and played a game like cornhole but with metal rings. That clinking noise went from about 3pm until after midnight. I was so glad we weren't staying another night. As beautiful and peaceful as the house and grounds are, the surrounding areas are not. We wanted to see the deer more but that didn't happen due to how busy things were. For the price, we will not be doing it again. When paying quite a bit of money for two nights, it was not worth it unfortunately.

We had booked this place for a getaway weekend + a small gathering of friends (25-ish ppl). This place was great! We were a bit worried about having to be outside (in the August heat) but we ended up having plenty of room inside for people to hang, mingle, and eat. The property manager was very communicative and very helpful throughout the process (even while onsite). I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a nice Hill Country get-away!

Pictures of the house are beautiful but it is absolutely amazing when you see it in reality . We were in awe with all the decor and charm . Wholeheartedly enjoyed every minute of our stay !

All in all this was a great experience! There's so much room to explore and relax. We didn't know the water levels were so low that the dock wasn't even touching the water & it wasn't deep enough to swim, which was the main reason we wanted to be there so that was disappointing. I'm sure it's so lovely when the water is higher.

We had such an amazing time this last week. We were using the property for a creative day retreat for artists & we were incredibly inspired by the location and the home itself. The property was incredible & was above and beyond our expecations & the home has so much character. Travis the owner has some of the best communication we've experienced with VRBO and we will absolutely be back!

Relaxing Getaway
We stayed in the Casa De Joy which is a little more secluded from the smaller cabins. Nice house with lots of eclectic character on beautiful property with easy access to the water. House is clean with all the basics you would need, including full kitchen. Tons of windows for great views (no blinds or curtains in the upstairs bathroom FYI). Water is a short walk down a hill with some non-motorized water toys for rent. Cute winery just a few minute drive away, and maybe 15-20minutes from some restaurants which are easy to get to. Owner was very responsive to messages and accommodating. Would recommend this property if you want a few days away to relax in a calming environment.

Immaculate, beautifully decorated getaway
From the moment you step on the property you are surrounded by a sense of serenity and beauty. Entering the house, you are immediately struck by the classic southwestern architecture and carefully selected decorations that span cultures from the world over. Stepping out the back door, you walk onto a back porch offering a view of the landscaped hillside that slopes down to the Padernales River. Further down the hillside are two different patios, one stone and one wood, offering their own charming views of the river and amenities. Kayaks, standup boards and canoes provide an opportunity to paddle on the Padernales downstream to the Colorado River or upstream to the Padernales canyon, each with its own unique landscape. All of this is located far away from the city. This place was clearly designed to offer a peaceful getaway and it succeeded beyond our expectations.

Gem with great energy
I loved this property. It is not furnished like many rentals with cold cheap thrown together furnishings. It is furnished lovingly by someone with heart. It feels like a home. The architectural details are wonderful. The surroundings on the property were lovely. If you love quirky interesting places, you will adore this property. There were so many charming places to sit or eat or simply read a book. I was there a week and never took advantage of all of them.
The manager of the property was very easy to communicate with and very responsive.
I highly recommend this property for couples. Although note that the many beautiful windows have no coverings and there are several other rental properties very near.
The dock on the river was lovely and there were candle holders all over. The kitchen was well appointed and the place just had overall good vibes.

Scorpions amd cockroaches. A
Not clean property smells musty unclean scorpions amd several cockroaches. I have photos amd would like to send. Maid was super rude in checkout as my husband was running late and kicked me out. Had to pack in a hurry and was banging on door 15 minutes before checkout time

A fabulous refreshing stay!
Thanks so much for a wonderful stay in your beautiful property! Todd is the ultimate host- making us feel so welcome & comfortable. Our every need was thoughtfully planned for. It was so great to find dish and laundry soap, shampoo and shower gel, toilet paper and paper towels, coffee and kitchen necessities! The ornate fireplace bathtub is a spa experience! The artistic decor is endlessly entertaining as you notice a surprise around every corner. The lush green environment is so refreshing. We enjoyed the floating dock cabin and caught perch, bass, catfish, and sunfish. (They were quickly released after a photo!)
The neighborhood was lovely to walk in, and deer, birds, squirrels, and butterflies kept us company! We will treasure our memories of this trip, and hope to return soon and rent the whole property for our extended family. God bless!

Great quiet riverfront getaway
Beautiful, eclectic house with a great story (ask the property manager!). Nice social cooking area. Recommend more for couples than families due to the lack of privacy (no internal walls, for the most part). A few issues with the listing as we saw it (it has been fixed since we stayed) drops the rating a notch but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Beautiful house on the river
This is a wonderful property on the Perdenales River. Even though it was hot, we enjoyed sitting out in the backyard, listening to the birds and watching the boats/skiers. The house had everything we needed and provided a nice, restful stay. Would definitely stay here again!

From the moment we arrived, we were amazed at the beauty of not only the house but the entire property. Wonderful Creativity
Pictures and words can not describe the beauty and creativity of this property. We are so glad we found this and gave it a go. It looks like a life long project that has do much detail and charm. Its nestled away on a quiet street with a handful of other houses, very quiet. There are great restaurants, shops, craft beer breweries with a half an hour away. We stayed here and cooked more than normal just to enjoy the place, its that nice.

Fabulous
We just spent 6 days/nights at La Casa de Joy. This one bedroom house overlooks the Pedernales river and sits on 4.5 acres of property. It has a wonderful back porch that has a small fireplace & is the perfect place to spend early evenings with a glass of wine, looking at the scenery.
The next time we come down from Minnesota to Texas Hill Country, this is where we'll stay!

Delightful place - back porch is a real haven
Make sure to stock up on food & drink BEFORE you get there because the last thing you will want to do is leave! The back porch is ridiculous in the evenings. The strong winds blew the trees and chimes & they turn on the waterfall that runs from the top of the property to the bottom.
One of the highlights was meeting the deer lady a few houses down who mixes up a porridge every night at 630pm for the deer - and places it across the street in these fabulous hand made wooden troughs. I swear the pack of deer about ran over my SUV jumping fences to get there on time!
Next time - i plan to schedule a massage with Todd (heard its wonderful) and somehow, get on a boat.

Reality Retreat Perfection
This property exceeded every single expectation. We were looking to get out of Dallas for just a few days for a personal retreat from work and life stress and that is exactly what we got.The property is so serene and the home is nothing short of magnificent. The area has the most tangible calming energy we have ever experienced. The property manager was super friendly and accommodating.... We have already booked another weekend at this property in the fall. You can't go wrong.

This place was absolutely amazing! I would definitely recommend staying here. I only wish we would have stayed longer because I did not want to leave this gorgeous home. What a great peaceful getaway. The house itself is stunning, the property is green, lush and breath taking. Pictures do not do this place justice. Seeing the fireflies sparkle at night were my favorite. We will definitely be coming back ! Thank you Todd
