Staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. The location for our cruise was fantastic. The location was also convenient to the town center and shopping/dining.

It was very close to the port. It is a no-frill hotel, meaning a room, bathroom, tv, and small refrigerator. No real lobby like most hotels. They give you a QR code, however, there was an employee there when we arrived. Thank goodness since our door was very hard to push open. They do not speak very good English so hard to converse.

The room burned up my small travel fan. They should warn travelers of the power being so powerful for US products.

Great location for shuttle service to cruise ship. Staff very helpfully assisted us with wheeling baggage the 100yds or so to shuttle point. Handy cafe nearby for breakfast.

Entry to hotel and room was by key code, so no obvious staff around until morning, which was ok, but would be more reassuring to see some staff presence.

Location is perfect for cruise tourists. Very clean room, nice and helpful staff. Luka helped us a lot. He helped us to reach the cruse terminal, which is meters from the hotel on foot.

Great night stop over before boarding our cruise. Staff in the morning where lovely enough to hold our luggage until we could board around 1.30pm. Rooms were clean and comfortable and near lots of food places.

My family of 3 stayed at Hotel Smart Cruise on June 30, 2023. We had booked this hotel for one night before departing on a cruise. We arrived late in the evening, and the manager warmly greeted us, explaining all the amenities. The refrigerator and mini bar were complimentary and he checked to make sure our Air Condition was working. It was great - nice and cool! The beds were comfortable and the shower was wonderful. The manager even recommended a wonderful pizzareia only a few steps away. This was the best pizza we ate the entire trip through Italy and the pizza was approx 1 euro a slice depending on the weight. The next morning the manager greeted us and gave us a parting gift of an Italian magnet. He then helped with us with our luggage, only a minutes from the hotel to the free bus stop that took us to the cruise port. This hotel is wonderful and you won't find a better place for comfort, price and hospitality!!!

The location. Literally 1 minute walk to cruise port. Barbara and Luca were amazing. Luca helped us with the luggage to the port and when we came back from cruise we couldnt find a taxi to rome and we approached him and he arranged a car for us.

How to get around

Clean and comfortable rooms.

Location was very convenient for cruise shuttle. Unit was clean. Glad it had a safe. Near market and a few restaurants.

No breakfast (just snacks) and for the price, there should have been one. Also found a large stain on the comforter and left note. No microwave. No directions for shower. Shower and bathroom floor were very slippery. No directions for coffee machine in lobby. Didn't get assigned room until a few hours before check-in, so never saw it in advance. I had to test which door opened with my QR code.

This was our first time using an non attended reception hotel and it worked very well. Pre arrival we received a QR code for main door and room entry accompanied by a video explaining use of the code. Back up was available by telephone or email and the response time was excellent. We would us this hotel again . We have no complaints.

I, personally, did not stay on the hotel, our 2 workers did. I was in contact with Mr. Giordano and the support from the moment we booked until they left was over the top. He made sure if our workers knew how to get there, explain how to enter and in any question we had, he immediately responded. Thank you fir your support. Excellent service

The modern room is a decent size and the bed is comfortable. The bathroom not only looks lovely with its black & white marble, but is well equipped with an excellent rain shower. The location is not even 2 minutes walk from the Civitavecchia Port bus terminal, so perfect if you are joining a cruise ship in the morning. It is also 10 minutes walk from the town center, with plenty of good restaurants.

The hotel entrance is merely functional with no reception or bar. Entrance to the hotel and room is only with a bar code sent via email which worked well for me, but could be a problem for some.

Walkable from cruise port. Great for overnight. Housekeeping staff were priceless! We were early arriving. I sent an email to the owner(?) to see if we could get in our room earlier. He immediately contacted housekeeping staff who in turn, cleaned our room first so we could go straight in and settle. Thank you!!

No reception; electronic doors to enter hotel. Couldn’t get in with QR code sent. Thankfully housekeeping staff came to rescue. Turns out there is an additional code LINK sent in confirmation email for the front door. Needed clearer instructions.

Best hotel to stay in prior to a cruise. Very clean and comfortable, wished I had stayed more than one night!
