Making the booking and that was it!
Good day. Hope you are well. Firstly I would like to say how disappointed I am with Carribean Estate and the service that was received. I made this booking on the 30.03.2024 to check in on 31.03.2024, received a booking confirmation. My family and I drove from Durban the morning of the 31.03.2024 straight to Carribean Estate only to be told that the booking wasn't not communicated to them and the unit is not ready and will not be cleaned for the day so we must look for alternative accommodation. I have a 3 month old baby and was told this at 2:30pm. We then spoke to the manager namely Amanda was just rude and arrogant, advised us that the unit will not be cleaned today and they cannot allow us in so we must look for alternate accommodation. We were literally left stranded and had no accommodation. My point is the booking was done in advance, and we got there in time to check in so how did all of this become our fault? I will definitely take this up to Hello Peter and all social media platforms to inform others of the service one most likely would receive in such an event. The inconvenience that we was put in was uncalled for due to the lack of communication Carribean Estate encountered.

All was nice.
The cats are troublesome,couldn't sit outside. Everytime we opened the doors,they would try to get in.
Loadshedding was a downer.

Location was perfect, good clean facilities,
We could not be helped with a braai stand, also the unit above us was a 6 sleeper yet it seems there were way more than 6 in that unit, the noise and disturbance was not good, security did little to nothing, that was unit 30 montego, I'm saddened that the carrribean estate standard has really dropped.

The place was beautiful and clean
We checked in on Saturday around 6pm but there was no eletricity till next morng 10 I couldn't prepare thing for children I was so cross. They should have alternative way for loadshedding coz they running a business that was bad shame 😞

Numerous fans were not working in the summer heat
As well as some light bulbs.

Booking.com sent confirmation of our last minute booking, unfortunately, the morning we were due to arrive, I recd an email from the host that the unit is unavailable. Despite numerous calls and messages to the host, we recd no feedback, else I would have booked elsewhere , the trip was 2 hrs and I was with kids, so I didn't appreciate no response. As I had the confirmation on my fone , I went anyway but was told at the reception the unit was not booked and no keys were left, we had to wait for the manager of the estate , amid the confusion, we were finally given keys to enter, complex had load shedding and unit was NOT equipped with proper loadshedding lights or gas stove or gas braai, Sunday was 12 hrs loadshedding , and we were not informed in advance. When I messaged owner of these issues , the response was " it was short notice booking, therefore I sent an email that the unit is unavailable but I still went to check in " if that's the case , notify Booking.com that you do not allow short notice bookings.

Apartment was clean, good views, close to wild coast.
My car got damaged by a golf cart owned by the estate on the day we where leaving. Really ruined the whole holiday for me having to go back home with a smashed car.

Location it's on the main road. The cleanliness and the safety of the premises. The view os to die for.
It looks like the house is in water cashment area. The humidity keeps the tiles with moisture which could be hazardous to the occupants when all doors and windows are closed. And they also have to b closed due to monkeys. The smell of the carpet again due to moisture, someone with sinus would battle. But the house is beautiful

The location is beautiful and the staff are so pleasant and helpful.
The fact that i went to the property only to find that this unit was booked 3 times and i did not get to check in. Thankfully the staff had another unit available, although it was so difficult with an elderly person and a baby to climb up a flight of stairs, u had no option but to take the unit on a cash rate at the reception counter.
